Redrawing an older mini comic about Baba Yaga. Seems to be working so far...
Little farther along today.
I would love it if some more non-Disney fairy tales show up in Once Upon a Time. The chipped cup was wonderful, Gaston getting turned into a rose maid me giggle, but I'd love them to mix it up a bit!
I’ve got Baba Yaga on the brain and an itch to combine Belle-leaves-Rumpelstiltskin with the story of Vasilisa the Beautiful. Wasn’t there some part of Baba Yaga legend that she’s an ally of jilted maidens or something? Somehow I just have the idea of Belle with the doll, and being brave, and maybe finding a way of showing Rumpelstiltskin that he’s a fucking idiot.
Or maybe some angsty tale where Belle grows up to be Baba Yaga paddling her way around the woods in a mortar and pestle and hanging out in a hut with chicken legs. You know, whatever.

Hannah is one of my favourite practicing artists, I think her chairs are gorgeous, particularly the steel frames. They are entirely unique and really speak to her intentions.
“I think a lot about furniture and the history of design and our relationship to it,” she says from her South Bronx studio. “It’s a play on the skin-and-bone furniture of the modernists but taken to a funny or surreal place.”…“Revulsion and attraction exist side by side,” says Levy, adding with a laugh, “I guess there’s some body anxiety in my work. It’s mildly grotesque in the way having a body is mildly grotesque.”
Welcome Home, White Wolf
Reader lives in a cute Baba Yaga style cottage that has a window that looks like an eye and has a cute plume of pink feathers on the back and a large window on the side. With a roof with moss and crows and a brick chimney that always has smoke coming out of the shaft. Geralt and Reader are married and Geralt isnt scared because Reader stays in her Baba Yaga house.

As Geralt ventured deeper into a seemingly endless forest, it grew dark. The White Wolf knew instinctively that it was not even afternoon yet.
The trees, thick with foliage, danced in the wind of the air currents that circle and flow within the atmosphere. The animals, small and large alike, cleared away from his path but watched from the pitch of the deep black ferns and bushes that lined Geralts path.
As Geralt rode Roach, he came up upon a cute and quaint home. However cute this home was, it was no ordinary home. It rested upon 2 chicken legs and had what looked like a plume of feathers on the back. On the front, was a gigantic eye that was made to look like a window.
Geralt sighs in contentment.
"Favela?" The quaint cottage turned to look at Geralt after wandering aimlessly for a long time, "May I come in?"
Favela bowed her chicken legs and allowed Geralt into her master's home.
"Thank you... Favela..." Geralt gently pets the sentient being that was his wife's home.
The smell of bread and rosemary permeated the wood of the door and flowed out the French swinging windows of Favela. Geralt was once again reminded of how odd this was supposed to be... but of how homey this felt.
How much of a home he could have as a traveler who kills monsters and is feared or hated by most. Sometimes the two are not mutually exclusive... People tend to fear what they don't understand, and then they fight it. They fight to try and keep whatever semblance of normalcy they had. Which, in this case, wasn't any.
He swings the door open. "Y/N! I'm home!"
A broom brushes past him and a crow settles into a high beam of the cottage. The fire crackles and a woman with purples swirls of energy surrounding her runs to the man. A man... something he only feels like when surrounded by her.
Not a hero made to kill monsters.
Not a killer for hire, as he was before Blaviken.
Just a man. A man who deserves love and care. A man who deserves to rest and know comfort. A man.
As she runs, he prepares for the hug that comes from the flurry of black and green, and is breathless. Not from the force of her jumping hug but from her.
Her eyes and her hands. How soft they are across his tough, weathered hands. How wonderful she feels in his arms...
Geralt is just happy to be home, and the White Wolf is happy to have a place to rest.

Another Russia popular mythological being - Baba Yaga
In Edgeworld she is an old powerfull hag of an elf with bucked teeth, kerchief on her head, which she never takes off and nasty attitude, who does not have a permanent residence and travels the world (usualy she travels through the woods) on her big mortar with chicken legs*, collecting various things from buttons to someone’s bones. She was born without right hand, and used various things as a prosthesis before with magic, now she uses someones bones** (if she goes far from Edge, she needs to cover bone hand). Sometimes, when she have when she is in a good mood, she can help someone. Doesn’t like new things, especially new technologies. Have a unwilling slave voluntary assistant a male mouseflie (who have some nyagas genes, so he is bigger and longer that average mouseflie) - Misha, who is doing things helping her.
* In folklore Baba Yaga have house with chicken legs and flying big mortar, but I desided to combine them
** In folklore Baba Yaga have bone leg, but since elves have invisible legs, I gave her bone arm
