Toph Gets Spin-Off Graphic Novel
Dark Horse Comics has announced a spin-off graphic novel focusing on Avatar: The Last Airbender’s Toph. The Last Airbender - Toph Beifong’s Metalbending Academy comes to us from writer Faith Erin Hicks, artist Peter Wartman, and colorist Adele Matera with collaboration from Avatar: The Last Airbender series writer Tim Hedrick.
Things are looking good for the Beifong Metalbending Academy, if a bit dull after all of Toph’s earlier adventures. “Luckily, Sokka and Suki come to visit and reintroduce some familiar faces from their wandering days. And while out and about to celebrate, Toph discovers something that just might put the spring back in her step.” (Dark Horse Comics)

Star Wars Rebels
I'm surprised I haven't posted about this yet. I'm midway through season 2 and am loving the show. True it's definitely more of a Legend of Korra to Clone Wars' Avatar, but like LOK Rebels has plenty of merits and deserves more credit then it gets at times. I love the found family trope with the Ghost Crew, the unconventional Jedi that is Kanan, the comedy gold of Garazeb, the adorable yet compelling Ezra, the absolutely amazing character that is Hera, the murderous Danny DeVito droid Chopper, and Sabine....also exists. I've also loved seeing its use of Clone Wars especially with Ahsoka and Rex and I'm genuinely just excited to see more.
THE FACT THE DEVIL IS NOT ONLY A RECOGNIZABLE TSAMS SIDE CHARACTER, BUT HE ALSO HAS HIS OWN LORE IS GENUINELY SO FUNNY TO ME. HE JUST SHOWS UP SOMETIMES. LIKE OH YEA THE DEVIL AND HIS KID THAT GOES TO THE DAYCARE. WHICH HAS NOW TURNED INTO 3 KIDS THAT GO TO THE DAYCARE. He's a doll most people have never heard of. He got discontinued forever ago cause he was perceived as gay by consumers and they didn't like that.
But I love that he had an actual role in Barbie. He was very queer coded, yeah, but he didn't like when all the Kens turned to Patriarchy. He was so uncomfortable that he wanted to abandon Barbieland all together. He knew it was wrong.
And then he helped the Barbies get themselves back. He had a pink jumpsuit and sunglasses and went out all stealthy to get the Barbies in the van. He even voted at the end to keep the constitution the way it was.

Okay look, Sometimes when I draw with my mouse it goes the way I want it to. And then sometimes it takes 2 days (or was it 3?) to create some okay doodles.
And thats fine. They still look pretty neat.
Next time I'm using my drawing tablet.
First work on a graphics tablet.
