if i had a nickel for every shitty new video game movie starring jack black, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice
Can you imagine instead of getting a live action Borderlands movie we would have gotten an M rated hybrid animated one. Well...I guess we can't always get we want
there are a lot of obvious reasons as to why the borderlands movie sucked. but listen listen. a huge un-talked about factor is the fact this movie is too scared to make ANY dark jokes. I know a ton of people know borderlands as a very particular brand of immature humor, but also what made the first two games shine is how dark the series got. the movie is all like "mInE Is BiGgEr " meanwhile in the first game general knoxx's whole thing was that he was chronically depressed and treated his job as a war general gunning down innocent civilians like another bad case of the mondays. the movie is some weak sauce shit.
