cinderella's castle countdown day eleven: ella in labyrinth
Making this a one day poll so there won’t be a delay! Next time I’ll post the character poll and the one asking for who’s next so there’s more time to vote
Any Starkid actors not included had only 0-2 non background characters within Hatchetverse so it wouldn’t make sense to make a poll (by background I don’t mean characters like Dan Reynolds or Man in a Hurry)

bryce charles as ella ashmore is THE best casting decision they could’ve made hands down. every one of her songs is so difficult vocally and she makes them sound beautiful and look easy. she has spot on comedic timing and sells all her one liners, then in multiple scenes of the same show she’s fully sobbing her eyes out and screaming in pain. she brings depth to her heavy scenes and light into her upbeat ones. her dramatic acting is FLAWLESS, she helps the audience understand the gravity of everything ella’s enduring even in a show with a lot of melodramatic and fantastical elements. ella goes through the widest range of emotional experiences by far and bryce nails the portrayal of each and every one - fear, rage, guilt, grief, elation, love, disgust, vengeance, hope. she has a clear stage presence and is able to hold her own when she’s the only one onstage. her dance numbers are beautiful and she nails all her (one million pieces of) choreography. and once again i have to comment on her vocals like you have to be SO GOOD to sing those songs as well as she did even once let alone for the full run of the show. if i sounded like her i would never shut up. bryce charles is the true definition of a triple threat and i knew i would be impressed by her performance as ella ashmore but wow. just wow. blown away doesnt even begin to cover it

If we ever get a 'Sleeping Beauty' Lands that Are show I think it would be super cool to cast Angela, Lauren and Mariah as the three good faries and Bryce as the evil fairy. Firstly because it would stand as an ironic contrast to their roles in Cinderella's Castle and secondly because villain Bryce would be AWESOME she'd kill it

oh my gosh step on your grave is so good. that second pre-chorus where ella gets on the table is so fun and makes her feel very realistic, like she's doing these tasks she hates so she's fantasising and moving around. and it gives ella the personality of (very justified) anger towards her stepfamily, particularly the stepmother, and sets up the idea that she thinks it's not reasonable to want that, which is why she asks for world peace or whatever when she first talks to the fairy queen. and, it's a bop. i'd love more expansion on the whole "i was raised to be appraised... a princess bride to be" and i think it could've been used in her conversation with tadius where he brings up how the prince's wife will have to rule, but that's probably another post. in conclusion step on your grave is a bop and also obviously bryce sounds fucking fantastic in it like i heard her and wow very wow ofc this is the same woman who sang hatchettown/axe man bc again wow
