Hogwarts Legacy x D&D - Character Sheets

As someone who is steadily becoming a dice gremlin and habitual note-taker for D&D, I wondered what each of the Hogwarts Legacy characters would be in the D&D fantasy realm.

What fantasy race and class could they be? Subclasses? What are their highest stats, which ones are then dumped? Why did they join the adventuring party? Where and how would you, an adventurer yourself, meet them? Et cetera et cetera.

First up, our resident charming, clever Slytherin... Sebastian Sallow.

For Sebastian, he wouldn’t be completely satisfied if he went full-on into one class, so he would be dual-classing his life. He would see the advantages of dipping one’s toes in more than one thing. Sure, it would take slightly longer to reap the full benefits, but it’ll be worth it.

Race: Half-Elf

Class & Subclass:

Rogue – Swashbuckler

Both Sebastian and Anne have the basic rogue class in common.

Quick feet, agile and nimble, and able to sneak into places where they shouldn’t be. Their parents were the scholarly types, so they would have to entertain themselves a lot, and one of them was learning little tricks. Sebastian’s first trick was to take a silver coin, make it ‘disappear’ and have it ‘reappear’ behind Anne’s ear. She’d been so overjoyed he started learning more, ergo the roguish start.

The swashbuckler subclass is known for the flashy, showy, bombastic adventuring type (think Captain Jack Sparrow or Robin Hood). He’d gone into fencing and sword-fighting in his youth as an outlet to escape his uncle’s thumb, as well as to learn how to protect Anne after their parents’ death. He knows the footwork like a charm in addition to knowing where to hit where it hurts, and easily could beat out the kids his age.

Over the years, he would train with travelers that happened to be in town, troops that would stay the night, and continually improve. He was also one of the main defenders of their village from anyone who would try to invade their homes.

2. Warlock – Hexblade (pact formed after Anne was cursed)

The term ‘warlock’ gets boxed into the ‘oh, pact with evil demon’ box much too frequently.

According to the D&D Player’s Handbook,

“… many warlocks serve patrons that are not fiendish. Sometimes a traveler in the wilds comes to a strangely beautiful tower, meets its fey lord or lady, and stumbles into a pact without being fully aware of it.”

“Warlocks are driven by an insatiable need for knowledge and power, which compels them into their pacts and shapes their lives. This thirst drives warlocks into their pacts and shapes their later careers as well.”

After Anne was cursed by some unknown origin, Sebastian sought something, anything to lift said curse. One day he searched out into the ruins, further than he’d ever gone before. There, he found a small, silver pendant with a strange spiral symbol and an empty black frame. The moment he picked it up, a woman’s voice came in amidst a dream-like state. She spoke of how she felt his sorrow and the desperation to help his sister. How she understood, because she was once in the same position as he was. He asked her name; she referred to herself as Morganach.

Sebastian entered a pact with Morganach. In exchange for her power so that he can venture beyond the current borders to search for the cure, she had requested that should he be able to land the exacting final blow to any enemies, to use ‘her’ blade so as their sorrows can be alleviated in their final moments of life.

Highest Stat: Charisma

He has charm oozing out of him; everyone finds him either charming, or affable or relatable in some way. He understands the “How to say X to achieve Y.” He knows exactly who to talk to and how to talk to them, both with people in good standing with society as well as those in the seedy parts of town.

Need information from the quiet guy in the back that looks like he could break you like a toothpick? Give him five minutes and he’ll get his life story for you. Need to sneak into an invitation only upper echelon party for some intel? He knows the organizer and can get them on the list.

But if that fails, he has ten lockpick sets. And a couple bottles of alcohol. You know, backup plans.

Second & Third Stat: Dexterity & Intelligence

Second highest is dexterity; he knows how to fight smart. He can dodge, parry, and do some fancy footwork so that his opponents always miss him.

He fights smart, and knows where and how to position himself in a fight to make it the most advantageous for him and exert the least amount of energy doing so. In fact, he doesn’t need anyone close to back him up in a fight; he prefers the one-on-one battles close up. Makes for better stories that way, though would appreciate a nice spell thrown in for assistance.

(Note: Dexterity does not equal constitution.)

Third is intelligence, which for the classes would not be the ‘best’ stat, but in-line with his background. He’s the one laying down the plans, where the traps are, who to talk to so the operation runs smooth. Or if it doesn’t, there’s at least three half-plans to fall back onto.

Dump stat: Wisdom

His wisdom isn’t bad, per say. He is aware of his surroundings well enough that most of the time, it isn’t much of an issue. Sure, sometimes he’ll miss someone slip out of the room until Anne or Ominis has to inform him, but that was only sometimes.

He can usually tell if someone’s lying, he’s read enough books on body language. But sometimes he just misses their intentions, you know? Sometimes he’ll say something slightly off to what they were intending, and would need to muster up his quick thinking and charm to cover his slip-up.

Background:

Sebastian and Anne lived with their parents, who were professors at the nearest university, until they were aged seven. Upon their parents’ passing under mysterious circumstances, they were sent to live with their uncle in a village a few hours away. They remained there until they were old enough and decided to go back to the city they’d originally lived in.

He and Anne started a private investigator agency together in the city to make use of their skillsets. It all started when they uncovered the long-term mystery of how their parents had passed away under mysterious circumstances and upended the criminal organization responsible.

They don’t have any employees, though Ominis joined their agency as a partner. They took on cases anywhere from infiltration, gathering information, and rescuing stray cats.

After Anne was cursed, their agency’s activities were placed on indefinite hiatus as she moved back in with their uncle, their only living relative, as living by herself had become difficult, and the herbs that stave off some of the curse’s effects are grown in abundance near the village they grew up in.

Sebastian and Solomon do not have the best relationship, but have a base understanding that they both care about Anne.

Notable Equipment:

Armor: Medium leather armor, good pair of leather gloves and boots. Nothing particularly fancy unless the occasion calls for it.

Weapons: Dual-Wielding, both rapiers. Does have a set of throwing daggers tucked away in his boots.

Main Hand: “Silver Tongue”. +1 AC and +1 Hit DC. Has a beautiful silver blade with a comforting green glow, and the handle is emerald green. A present from both Anne and Ominis after their one year-anniversary of starting their investigator agency.

Offhand: Pact Weapon “Sorrow Song.” On a critical hit, the damage dealt would automatically be dealt again to the next target as necrotic damage. Created when the pact was made with Morganach. Has a silver blade with a black handle. When the blade is used as the final blow, the blade hums in arcane energy, and the handle, momentarily, turns red. Those who receive the final blow with this blade will have milky white eyes.

Silver pendant: A strange, silver pendant with a spiral design. When his patron needs to talk to him, or he needs to talk to her, he grips onto said pendant. After Sorrow Song claims a life, it vaguely hums in arcane energy but quickly dissipates.

His reasons to join adventuring party

To search for a cure for his sister.

To help main adventurer on their quest.

To figure out who this ‘Morganach’ is.

First meeting where?

This could go a few ways, but you will always meet him in the first town you visit. The most likely meeting would be from your visit to the local tavern, wherein Sebastian would be there chatting away with the bartender like they had been friends for years, when really, they had only just met fifteen minutes ago.

Favorite Fighting Tactic

Cast Darkness – don’t worry, he has Devil’s Sight evocation. Darkness is not a problem! (within 120 feet, of course)

Hexblade’s Curse; X marks the spot!

Sneak up right next to the target. What’s the likelihood that they can see, right?

Stabbeth and slasheth where it hurts the most. (Sneak attack) Not down yet? Well, he has two rapiers for a reason.

Oh they can see him? That’s fine, he’ll dodge them. That’s when the fun starts.

But when he feels tired and just doesn’t want to get up close? Eldritch blast, Confringo flavor.

Hello. I Dont Really Know How To Do This Properly
Hello. I Dont Really Know How To Do This Properly
Hello. I Dont Really Know How To Do This Properly

tw: fluff

james potter x reader (platonic)

Your hands instinctively come up to shield your face as confetti rains down in the Great Hall for the third time that evening.

A frown settles on your face as you slowly lower your arms, feeling the split second when your hand comes into contact with a drink on the refreshments table and knocks it to the ground. A frustrated groan escapes your lips.

You flick the remnants of the drink off your hand and sigh, moving away from the table to go lean on another wall. You shuffle your way through the various couples giggling and dancing and snogging, feeling your resentment grow by the second. Once you’ve safely reached the other side of the mob in the middle of the hall, your eyes rake over the place.

As usual, Hogwarts was shimmering with splendour for the annual ball. Fairy lights adorned the ceilings, and decorated tables were laden with every type of food you could think of. The long tables in the centre had been cleared to allow for dancing, while the Weird Sisters played popular tunes at the front of the hall.

You tried not to let it get to you, but as you awkwardly shuffle around to make way for couples trying to get past you, a dull ache makes its way into your heart.

Kingsley Shacklebolt had very sweetly asked you to the school dance a couple of days ago and you had agreed. The whole evening had been spent in preparation for tonight, doing makeup with the girls and putting on your lovely dress adorned with golden butterflies. But Kingsley fell terribly ill an hour before the dance, and couldn’t muster the strength to even get out of bed.

It was unfortunate, something you were so looking forward to going wrong like this. Especially since you really really liked Kingsley.

You sigh, loneliness and embarrassment starting to get the better of you as you resign yourself to staying as an onlooker. Couples fade in and out of your vision, twirling and prancing around. A huff of resentment escapes you as you try not to glare too hard at those having fun.

Just when you stand up straight, deciding that there was no point staying, you feel a hand on your shoulder and startle. Turning around, you come face-to-face with a grinning James Potter.

“Hey Pickle. You doing good?” he asks, his smile widening as he sees the frown on your face.

That was what James had called you since you first met on the Hogwarts express years ago, a timid first-year crashing straight into the most popular third-year in the school. You bumped into him while holding a jar of pickles (god knows why), and ended up hurling them all over him. He laughed it off while you apologised incessantly and cleaned him up. He thought you were adorable.

That day, James pestered you about yourself till you snapped, and the two of you were inseparable ever since.

“No, Potty. I’m not doing good. Kingsley’s sick,” you mutter, trying to veil the hurt in your voice with anger. He lets out a sympathetic coo and softens, his hand moving down to take yours.

You sigh, your anger dissipating to leave disappointment. “I’m gonna leave,” you murmur, turning around to get to the door. But his grip on your hand remains firm. You turn back around, brows furrowed in confusion.

He's smiling at you, tugging on your hand with that mischievous James Potter twinkle in his eyes. “Come on, Pickle.”

“What?”

“Come on. One dance?”

“Jame-“

“Pickle! You’re no fun. Pleaaaaase?”

You groan, mocking reluctance as you let yourself be led by him as he pulls you to the dance floor. “I can’t dance.”

“You don’t have to, I can do it well enough for the both of us,” James grins. He wraps his arm around your waist, takes your hand in his other one.

He pokes at your hand, gesturing for you to put it on his shoulder. You sigh and do as you’re told. He gives you a small smile and you soften, unable to help smiling back in return.

As the two of you position yourself, the loud manic pop music previously playing comes to an end. A gasp escapes you, your eyes lighting up as you hear the first notes of ‘O Children’ start to play. A childhood favourite, your mum’s go-to song to sing.

James chuckles, slowly starting to sway you along to the beat.

‘Lift up your voice, lift up your voice…’

You move along with him, closing your eyes and feeling the rhythm.

‘Children!...’

James’ footing is perfect, yours is haphazard. His movements are elegant, yours rusty. His dancing on beat, yours attempting to be. But the smile that graces both of your faces is the same.

‘Rejoice, rejoice…’

A giggle escapes you as he twirls you around, both of you bursting out into laughter as you trip on his shoe and your face lands smack on his chest. None of you pull away.

You stay like that for a while, your face buried in your shoulder as he holds you close. The two of you move from side to side in time with the music. You melt into his touch, feeling all your disappointment disappear as you tenderly dance to the soft tune.

“Thanks, James,” you murmur gratefully. He smiles down at you.

“Hey, none of that. You’re my Pickle - of course I had to pester you to dance, I always will,” he chuckles, ruffling your hair. You grin into his shoulder, playfully punching him in the stomach.

“And this song better be playing at your wedding. I need to show everyone, especially your future husband, just how much you suck at dancing.”

“James!”

He laughs, wincing as you pull away to smack him on the shoulder. He pushes you back, but catches you before you tumble to the floor. The two of you are clutching your stomachs and each other’s hands.

You and James dissolve into heaps of laughter and joy, just like you always do.

Regrets - 1.1

Hogwarts

Synopsis: Like any other, she hopes to have power. Coming from a noble house in the wizarding world, that should've been an obvious privilege but for her, it was exhausting to achieve.

In her first life, she committed a crime that she was unable to fix even until her last breathe. Unfortunately, that followed her to her next life. In this life, she was determined to fix her mistake but it resulted to her being pushed off the edge of death. Finally, on her third life, she could care less about it and wanted to live a peaceful life.

However, it seems as though her past have chased her even in this life.

She is Xing Forest, the unfavored child of time yet loved by people.

Regrets - 1.1

Looking out of the window, Xing could hear the birds singing upon the rise of the horizon. As she enjoys the smell of the early morning, she sipped on a cup of tea.

Xing was currently in Nanjing visiting one of the tea stores near the Xuanwu Lake. This may seem like any other ordinary day, but Xing was expecting a particular letter today.

" Yueyue, when do you think the letter will arrive?" Xing strokes her cat's head as it yawns and nibbles her finger. The act made her smile.

Xing was currently on vacation in Nanjing during her summer break. To say that is was relaxing was an understatement, if Xing had the choice of living here permanently, she would have but life was never that giving.

Recently, she fell in love with this little tea shop situated near the Xuanwu lake. The view of the lake from here was simply mesmerizing combined with the early morning mist makes it impossible for Xing to get bored of the scenery.

As she continues to look out into the lake, an owl flew into her view. Expecting it, Yueyue hopped down from Xing's lap to let the girl stand up. Waiting until the owl have dropped off the letter and left, Xing finally picked it up.

Xing smiled at the familiar feel of the letter and the emblem of the wax seal. Gently opening the letter, she took her time to read its content before looking at the cat.

" Yueyue, looks like its not too different from last year but we should still visit Diagon Alley to pick up a few things." A thought suddenly popped into her head. " Ah... should we visit the market for the wizard folks here first?"

As Xing walks through the different vendors selling all sorts of products, Xing realizes how different it is compared to the past--as well as the haggling of prices. Even though it has been a long time, Xing find it amusing of the haggling culture here.

After haggling down the prices of a few items, Xing walked back to her accommodation turning a blind eye on the stares that she was getting. Since the start of her trip, she was already getting curious yet weird stares from those around her. Part of it due to her young age, part possibly due to her own appearance, and possibly due to the strange items that she was carrying. Of course, Xing was walking down a muggle--or as they called them here, non-wizards. streets carrying magical items. Surely, it would piqued the interest of many eyes. Besides, the wizard population here is scarce compared to Britain, not many will recognize her being a witch.

Upon arriving at her accommodation, Xing started packing her belongings into their respected luggages.

Xing sighed, the trip here has been very welcomed but it is now time to return to busy Britain. Taking out her wand, Xing casted a spell to quickly clean up her room so it can be used during her next break.

" Xiaoyu." Xing called out. After a moment, a loud pop echoed through the space before a house elf appeared in front of her.

" Mistress have called Xiaoyu." The house elf bashfully answered.

Xing smiled, " It is time for my departure, you have done a great job in taking care of this mansion. I thank you for you efforts."

Hearing her gratitude, Xiaoyu shakes her head in denial. " Xiaoyu does not dare to accept Mistress's thanks."

Expecting her to response in a similar fashion, Xing brought out a little bracelet. " You may deny it but I hope this gift shows my sincere gratitudes."

Too shocked to react, Xiaoyu only stood there and let Xing put the bracelet on her hand.

" Do not be too shock, I expect you to continue to take care of this place until my next visit here."

" Yes, Xiaoyu will do her best."

" Good, now shall we go downstairs?"

" Reducio" Xing chanted as all her luggages shrunk down so she could easily carry it down the stairs.

Stepping out of the mansion, Xing took a step back to admire the place. " Xiaoyu awaits Mistress next visit."

prologue - one - two

The Apparition - Hogwarts Legacy Fanfic (s.s)

Something was different this time.

It was the roar of an animal, but it was loud, louder than Ellise’s usual dream, reverberating in her brain. She saw a red glow of magic but couldn’t figure out where it came from.

She knew something was wrong, in her gut there was a feeling she couldn’t figure out, but she was certain of one thing - this was not a mere dream.

A strong jaw with big, terrifying sets of teeth closed on her.

Aiden’s eyes snapped towards Ellise as she awoke with a start, the usual now. She must’ve fallen asleep at some point during the carriage ride, the steady flying of the vehicle rocking her into a light slumber.

She was glad she didn’t accidentally lay her head on their sudden acquaintance’s shoulder, George Osric. The high-ranking Ministry of Magic official surprised them, asking to accompany them on the journey with “urgent matters” to discuss with Fig.

He sat beside Ellise, opposite her brother and her professor, they talked about the newest journal rumour - sources mentioned a goblin, Ranrok, posing as a looming threat to the wizarding world.

“It was your wife, Eleazar, who alerted me to his activities months ago.” George said softly as Fig’s brows wound tight together.

“Miriam? How?” The professor questioned.

“She wrote to me about Ranrok before she died - wondering what the Ministry knew of the extent of his activities” George sighed “Before I could respond. I received this. It was the last thing she sent me.”

The official grabbed a cylinder-shaped container from his bag. As Aiden looked out the window, Ellise studied the mysterious object residing in George’s hands. It had a stonish-esque pattern on its exterior and the intricate pattern carved into its front resembled an intricate swirling flame.

“It came to me via her owl.” He continued “But with no correspondence, I can only assume-“

“-That she had to get rid of it quickly to keep it safe.” Fig cut him off, grabbing the artefact to look closely at it.

“Presumably from Ranrok.” George commented “I cannot open it. Whatever magic protects this is powerful indeed.”

“It looks like goblin metal, George.” Eleazar inspected “That symbol-“

“What’s that glow?” Ellise interrupted, piquing her brother’s interest, who also stopped to take a look at the artefact.

“I don’t see a glow.” Fig said, confused.

“Nor do I.” George agreed.

The professor then passed the cylinder onto Ellise’s hands, she noted it wasn’t as heavy as she thought it would be and the metal felt cold and sturdy.

“I see the glow too.” Aiden commented, “I can hear a sound coming from it.”

Suddenly, a click was heard and the small frontal opening of the artefact was unlatched, revealing an intricate key posing of the same design which was carved onto the cylinder.

“Merlin’s beard! How did you do that?” George asked surprised.

Ellise reached for the key inside the container, just to be stopped by her professor’s word of caution.

“Wait! We do not know what-“

A roar of an animal.

Everything happened quickly, too quickly. Aiden’s head snapped to the side as he saw something approaching from the corner of his eye.

“Leesie, look out!” He pulled his sister towards him without even thinking twice, just fast enough to avoid her being taken along with George as a dragon gnawed on their half of the carriage, breaking it off and dragging the man away.

One of her legs dangled from the new sudden opening made into the carriage as her brother held onto her as tight as he could, preventing her from falling like the artefact that fell from her hands towards the clouds that painted the morning sky. They watched with horror as the dragon held the other half of the vehicle in his mouth, suddenly chomping down on it, crumbling all its remains and, consequently, George.

Ellise turned her head over to the front of the carriage and saw the coachman urging the now visible thestrals forward as he tried to get them away from the angry winged beast. Aiden saw the dragon open its mouth and a fiery glow burned in the back of its throat as he urged for them.

“Jump!” Fig yelled over the hiss of the wind as he pulled both of them forward, jumping off the carriage as the dragon spit fire towards it.

Falling.

They were falling at rapid speed as Fig swam across the air, trying to reach for the mysterious key which fell out of the cylinder container, the twins held tight onto each other, the icy wind feeling like blades cutting their faces.

“Give me your hand!” Fig warned Aiden, who tightened his hold on his sister with one arm and held onto the professor with the other. “Accio!” The key flew towards Eleazar’s hand.

Nausea.

Ellise hit the solid ground with a thud, pain shooting from her side. Her brother quickly got up, anxiously scanning their surroundings, it seemed as if they were in some sort of cave.

“Are you both alright?” Fig asked worriedly as he got up as well “You’re hurt Miss Villin.”

“Perhaps a bit.” The girl said as her brother's worried gaze found her once again. “I must’ve hurt my leg in the fall.”

“Take this. It's a Wiggenweld potion.” The professor said as he uncorked and handed the girl a vial with a green liquid in it. “That stuff’ll right you in a second.”

Unfortunately, Ellise sniffed the potion before drinking it, the smell reeking of mucus mixed with a berry-ish scent, which only worsened her nausea from the sudden Apparating trip. Without thinking too much, she downed the contents of the vial in one big gulp, fortunately feeling immediate pain relief.

“What happened?” Aiden asked as he helped his sister get up from the floor, keeping close by in case she toppled and fell over.

“Poor George- I can’t believe he-“ Fig sighed, one of his hands brushing through his dishevelled ash hair. “What the hell got into that damned thing?! Attacking a carriage mid-air? A typical dragon would never!”

“Professor?” Aiden questioned “Sir- Where are we?”

“I’m not sure, but that key Ellise discovered was clearly a Portkey.”

“A Portkey?” Ellise asked, confused.

“An item enchanted to bring anyone who touches it to a specific place.” The professor explained.

“I’m feeling better, sir- If you’d like us to look around a bit.” Ellise said, the pain in her leg had immensely subdued and she felt as if she could certainly walk normally now.

“I would, but stay close, both of you.” He urged them forward, towards the opening of the cave “We’ve no idea who created this Portkey- or why.”

Aiden kept close beside Ellise as she followed Fig out of the mysterious cave, which led to a bright open area, it seemed the hole was on the side of an island and miles of sea were all that could be seen besides-

Abandoned ruins. Just like the ones in Ellise’s dream. She couldn’t help but question what in the world was going on, why did she dream about these things countless times before?

“How far did that Portkey take us, professor?” She questioned, shielding her eyes from the rapid wind that blew her hair.

“Farther from London than the carriage travelled.” He asserted “We’re somewhere in the Scottish Highlands.”

“Do you think we were supposed to be sent to those ruins up ahead?” Aiden pointed, catching Fig’s attention.

“I do.” Fig asserted “This has not been the day any of us expected. But Miriam sent that Portkey to George for a reason, and I believe they died in pursuit of what it was meant to lead to.” He paused, both twins listening intently to his words.

“If you both are sure you’re alright and wouldn’t mind indulging me- I’d like to have a look around.”

Aiden eyed Ellise carefully, he figured it’d be best for her to choose since she was the one hurt in the first place. She met his eye with understanding and gave him a small nod.

“Absolutely, sir.”

“Good!” He didn’t hide his excitement “Let’s see if we can find a path- however faded it may be.”

Along the mountain's edge, Ellise minded her step not to trip in their rigged path. The wind bled through her coat, making her shiver slightly.

“Where do you suppose your wife got the Portkey?” Aiden asked, both of them walked just ahead of her, engaged in conversation.

They soon found out Miriam spent years looking for signs of another form of magic, a rather ancient one which was long forgotten since its prime. This magic could only be wielded by a rare few people, who seemed to have been lost to time. Eleazar presumed his wife’s research led her to the Portkey, which certainly played a big part in it.

The path flowed downwards and upwards, leading them to do some climbing and jumping, which was something none of them imagined would be required today.

They reached a dead end, a wall which looked as if made of ice blocking them from pushing forward. The professor saw it as a learning opportunity- as he saw most things -and told them to use the, in Ellise’s opinion, overly practised, basic wand cast to break the wall. That task was no hard feat for the twins, who quickly brought down the wall and kept going forward once again.

“We’re close now.” Fig encouraged “It’s just ahead.”

As they reached a fully open area, the wind seemed stronger than before, the twins having to steady themselves to not be blown away. The bridge that led to the ruins seemed to be broken, but it was fixed with a quick ‘Reparo’ from Fig himself. Finally, they had reached the ruins, each of them going off in one direction to find clues about the creator of the Portkey quickly.

“Lessie! Professor Fig!” Aiden called from the back of the ruins

As she arrived, the girl saw a weirdly transparent wall, which seemed to have a room behind it, the same glow from the cylinder container emanating from it. They got closer to it.

“An enchanted wall?” Ellise questioned, “But what’s that room behind it?”

“Room? What room?” Fig asked, confused.

They all exchanged sceptical looks before reaching out to the wall, as they came in contact with it their surroundings seemed to change, they were now inside the mysterious room.

“What in Merlin’s name?!” Fig exclaimed.

“Where are we?” Aiden asked.

To say they were tired of being suddenly teleported was an understatement, this was enough teletransportation for their whole year already. They seemed to be in some sort of lobby, a snoring figure lying down at some sort of reception desk.

“Hello?” Ellise said as she carefully approached the desk. The figure didn’t bulge, Fig cleared his throat in an attempt to wake it.

The figure awoke with a startled yell, now the twins could make out that it was a goblin given his pointy ears and black sclera eyes, his nose was big and round and his nails were as long as they could be grown out. He blinked, confused, and suddenly his eyes popped out at the sight of the people in front of his desk.

“It can’t be.” He exclaimed, Fig and his students just looked at him with arched eyebrows “Ah, just a moment.”

The goblin turned around as he mumbled to himself, getting down from the place he sat in to go around the tall desk.

“Welcome to Gringotts Wizarding Bank.” He said with a bow “Vault number twelve, I presume?”

Ellise looked around the fancy lobby once more, Gringotts? Why would they be in a bank?

“Precisely.” Fig disguised his confusion quickly.

“The key?” The goblin said as he presented his hand, waiting for the item to be given to him. The professor just looked at him, confused once more.

“Your wife’s Portkey.” Aiden whispered as he nudged the man.

“Yes, of course” Fig took the key out of his pocket, placing it in the goblin’s big hand.

“This way then.”

They followed the goblin towards what looked like a train platform that had wide rails in front of it, the creature whistled a tune and a cart came quickly, stopping with a half right in front of the group.

“After you.” The goblin signalled for them to sit down.

The Apparition - Hogwarts Legacy Fanfic (s.s)

Aiden would’ve rathered Apparating a million times before having to ride this hellish cart again. As he focused on the path ahead to not throw up his breakfast, Ellise admired the length of the tunnels of the bank, the cart bringing them lower and lower into the ground as the minutes passed, it tossed and turned and she noticed her brother was more pale than usual, the water from the waterfall that cleanses enchantments only making his sickness worsen as his clothes were clinging onto him.

The goblin explained how the vault was commissioned shortly after Gringotts was founded, so it resided in the lowest part of the bank, a long ride ahead of them.

After quite some time, the cart stopped to a halt after a goblin security guard on a platform signalled for them to break.

“Vault number?” His voice was deep and dry, the group could tell he wasn’t as nice as the goblin that was guiding them.

“Vault twelve!” The nice goblin answered “Momentous day!”

The guard goblin groaned.

“On your way.”

As he signalled the path ahead with his long hand, Ellise, who was right in front of him, noticed he had a band on his arm which had the same red glow of the collar the dragon that attacked them wore, she eyed their professor apprehensively as the cart took off again, to Aiden’s displeasure. The girl quietly nudged Fig, who questioned her with a soft hum, she quietly told him about the glow of the band.

“Like the glow you saw on the Portkey container?” He asked

“No, darker. I saw that glow on the dragon’s collar.” She whispered, worried.

“What was that?” The nice goblin interrupted them, Fig asked about the guard.

The goblin told them that the grumpy guard watched over the eldest section of the bank, but rarely anyone went there anymore. Ellise and Aiden looked at themselves over the cart with an alarmed gaze.

With a few more tosses and turns, the cart came to a final stop, and Aiden already took it as a prize that he managed to keep the contents of his stomach on the inside. They got up from their seats and followed the goblin towards on single door on the furthest wall in front of the rails.

The goblin grabbed the key from his pocket and inserted it into the keyhole of the heavy metal door, he turned it and the heavy metal locks groaned and they unlocked themselves. The goblin stood aside to let them get through the now-opened passage, and the group thanked him as they stepped into a short candle-lit stone hallway.

“What do you suppose we should be looking for?” Ellise asked as she looked around their new surroundings.

“I’m not sure.” Fig said as he turned towards the goblin who was now standing in the doorway “Sir, I wonder if you might-”

“The instructions for vault twelve indicate that I am to grant access to the holder of the key - and then close the door.” He said with a smile, signalling with his hand and, in a swift motion, locking them in the room. “Best of luck!”

“Great.” Aiden complained “Professor?”

Fig didn’t hide his surprise, they certainly weren’t expecting to be locked in an unknown vault for God knows how long.

“Revelio might help us here.” The professor rubbed his chin “A revealing charm, no time like the present, ready your wands.”

They both raised their second-hand wands and copied Fig as he showed them the movement of the spell. As they cast revelio, a door appeared on the other end of the small hallway, it had the same blue glow as the container of the Portkey and they got closer to inspect it.

As the twins touched the door, the corridor around them vanished and they found themselves in a vast, dark room.

The Apparition - Hogwarts Legacy Fanfic (s.s)

White flashes of light

That’s all Ellise and Aiden had seen for the past 30 minutes, which felt more like hours of their lives. They had to battle knights, a safety matter, the boy presumed, and amidst the chaos they lost their professor, having to battle on their own.

Short of breath, they crossed a portal that led to a room full of grandeur with a basin in the middle of it. If the day hadn't already been weird enough, there was a small vial floating above said basin, they approached it and Ellise reached for the weird container and took it. The door at the far end of the room opened and luckily Fig was just behind it, looking confused.

“There you are!” Fig looked around the room “How did you-? What is this place?”

“I don’t know.” Ellise sighed as they approached him “But we found this floating above that basin.” She showed him the vial.

Professor Fig took a closer look at the said basin curiously “That is no mere ‘basin’. That is a Pensieve - for viewing memories.”

Ellise handed the vial to him and he opened it “I wonder-“ He tipped the container over the basin, a glowing liquid falling from it swiftly and making the water below it swirl with black.

“Follow my lead.” He put the upper half of his face in the murky water.

Ellise looked at her brother, confused, he just shrugged at her “I guess we have no choice.” He chuckled and dipped his head in as well. The girl took a deep breath and followed.

Ellise saw the room they were in, but it was like watching it from behind a foggy glass. A man resided in the middle, he looked a little past Fig’s age and swished his wand around as he finished building the room, the same blue glow the twins saw earlier enveloped the pillars he conjured. The girl noticed another man was on the other end of the room, seemingly helping with the room’s architecture, although he was quite shorter and fuller than the other man.

They approached each other close to the Pensieve “All is in place.” The shorter one said.

“The Portkey is well hidden?” The tall one questioned.

“Perhaps too well, I wonder if the path we created-“

“May be impossible to follow?” The tall wizard completed his mate's sentence ”It will only be impossible for one who cannot see traces of ancient magic - as I can.”

“Your ability to see what others cannot will not be enough, Percival.” Percival, that was the tall wizard’s name, Ellise made sure to keep it in mind as the memory unfolded. “We are entrusting the one who embarks on this path with powerful secrets - with knowledge others will do anything to obtain.”

“Yes, and if we are correct, Charles, the person who completes the trials will have proven themselves worthy of the knowledge and the responsibility that accompanies it.” Percival said, final.

“We’ve done all we can.” Charles agreed.

They both gazed at the far wall for a second. Then, Percival placed the tip of his wand to his temple as he pulled out the string of glowing magic that was poured onto the Pensieve.

The memory ended and they all pulled out their heads from the water of the basin. “That’s what you’re seeing?” Fig questioned “The glow that surrounded them?”

“Yes Sir.”  Aiden answered “That blue glow.”

“Can we see magic?” Ellise asked, puzzled.

“Traces of ancient magic, to be precise. The magic that Miriam had always believed existed but could never-“ The professor trailed off “Miriam, and perhaps George, died in pursuit of knowledge that has been dormant for centuries - And you both, it seems, are the key to understanding why. We wou-“

They heard the voice from the nice goblin banker coming from the other side of the door, accompanied by heavy metal footsteps “It all looks rather different than it did a moment ago.” He chuckled awkwardly.

“Someone’s coming.” Fig warned, turning towards the door.

“Who were they?” A deep voice asked

“I don’t know - but sir, you shouldn’t be in here.” The nice goblin insisted.

The door opened, a red glow coming from the other side. Ranrok. He walked in front, a rookie and the grumpy guard beside him, the nice goblin followed frantically after them “I was right.” Ranrok said in a menacing tone.

“Ranrok.” Fig spat at him, anger evident in his voice.

“Seems my reputation precedes me. I was beginning to think no one was ever going to visit Rackham’s vault.”

“And why are you here?” The professor pulled out his wand, and the twins followed, pointing them at the goblin.

“No need for that.” He put out his hand urging them to stop “Just give me whatever it is you found here and we can let bygones be bygones.”

They all stared each other down with icy gazes, the nice goblin placed a long hand on Ranrok’s shoulder “Sir, they had the key to the vault.”

“Choose your next words wisely.” Ranrok warned as he side-eyed him.

“- I only meant that the instructions for vault twelve were quite clear.” He said carefully and fisted his hand to his sides “Sir, I must insist. I was to grant access only to one with the key. And you didn’t have-“

With a flash of red, Ranrok levitated the nice goblin banker with an angry grunt. He held him in the air for a second before descending him towards the ground with full force. The goblin’s spine snapped with an audible ‘crack’, making Ellise let out a trembling breath as her brother stepped a little bit more in front of her protectively.

“I have no patience for traitors.” The goblin said, his gaze snapping back to them “Now, where were we?”

“I’m not giving you anything.” Fig barked back at him.

Ranrok hummed, annoyed. “Well - Perhaps your young friends here will be more helpful.”

The professor’s wand lit up as he flickered as he sent a spell towards Ranrok, who blocked it effortlessly with his own which overpowered it. He sent Fig and the twins flying to the back of the room, making them hit the floor painfully with a thud.

The floor under the Pensieve started to swirl as if it turned into water. A knight emerged from it, it was big, too big, and it charged for Ranrok and his comrades, barely missing him with his sword. Professor Fig got up with a cough and Ellise helped her brother get on his feet.

The girl noticed a portal to her right and walked over to it, on the other side lay a forest, seemingly peaceful. “I know a way out!” Fig and Aiden kneeled to dodge a swing of the guardian’s sword “Professor!” She yelled to get their attention.

They ran over to the portal as a pillar that was cut in half fell right in their direction, each of the twins held one of Fig’s shoulders and placed their free hands on the portal, the three of them lowered their heads and shut their eyes as the pillar got dangerously close to crushing them. A light flashed and the portal did its job.

The professor whooped at their sudden teletransportation and they abruptly opened their eyes. They looked around, dark trees being all that was around them.

“Are you both alright?” Fig asked.

“Fine, sir.” Aiden answered “Ellise?”

“Me too.”

“I’ve never seen so powerful a goblin.” Eleazar exclaimed as he studied their surroundings “He seemed wholly unaffected by my magic.” He turned back to the twins.

“Where are we?” Aiden asked, a hint of concern in his voice.

Fig looked around once more and chuckled “It can’t be.” He said marvelled “It seems those who set up the Pensieve, the locket - and the path to both - wanted someone with your abilities to end up here.”

They walked towards a lamppost with multiple path indicators on it, Fig stopped right under it “Come. We’ve a Sorting Ceremony to get to.”

The Apparition - Hogwarts Legacy Fanfic (s.s)

The walk to Hogwarts grounds was far from short, and the staircase to the entrance hall was so long Ellise’s calves hurt after climbing them. They stood in the hall as Fig placed his ear on the heavy wooden doors.

He walked back to the twins “We haven’t missed the Sorting Ceremony” He pulled his wand out “I’m no expert, but that seems more appropriate.”

With a swish, Fig changed the twins’ clothes to plain black Hogwarts uniforms. The cloak was smooth and the button-ups fitted them perfectly. “I need to study this locket as soon as I can, but first I’ll contact the Ministry” He explained “They need to know about Ranrok, and what happened to George. For the moment I ask that you both keep what’s happened only between us.”

The professor walked back to the door and opened it slowly, loud chattering and laughter burst through the small opening and Fig peeked into the room, quickly turning back to the twins once more.

“Phineas Nigellus Black” He sighed with disdain “Prepare yourselves to meet the Headmaster.”

As if his entrance was timed, a man walked through the doors. He was tall and dressed with splendour, but, in Ellise’s opinion, he looked much like a cranky goat. She had to hold back a snicker. Aiden noticed and grasped her thought immediately, covering his mouth with his fist to muffle a chuckle.

“Fig - Nice of you to join us.” The Headmaster reprimanded “The Sorting Ceremony’s over.”

“There were - complications.” The professor tried to reason “It seems that the goblin problem-“

Nigellus groaned “Enough. Goblins?” He asked amused “I’ve no time for rumours, Fig. And I’m rapidly losing whatever patience I had left.” He turned towards the twins “If you’re lucky, we might still get you sorted this evening. Come.”

They both quickly followed the Headmaster, waving Fig a small goodbye with their hands. As they got through the grand doorway, Ellise noticed heads turning towards them; she didn’t know if it was curiosity over their tardiness or late sorting age.

“Professor Weasley, we’ve two more to get sorted” Nigellus asked dryly as they reached the front of the room, where a single stool was, ready for whoever to sit on “Go on.’

Aiden noticed Ellise’s apprehension “I can go.”, he reassured her. He sat on the stool as the feast hall slowly got quieter, everyone now watching curiously. A woman, seemingly Professor Weasley, placed a hat on his head and as much as Ellise tried to listen in, their mouth moved but no audible sound came out, was the conversation with the hat a private one?

The hat closed its cloth mouth looking deep in thought “You belong in - Slytherin!” The hat yelled through the hall, the Slytherin table bursting into loud cheers and whistles. Aiden got up and Professor Weasley changed his robe accents to his house’s, he walked towards his sister.

“Good luck, Leesie.” He gave her a reassuring smile and Ellise watched as he walked over to stand beside the woman who was waiting for her to sit down to place the hat on her head.

The hall got quiet again as Ellise sat down on the stool, she looked around and-

Brown eyes

The same pair from her dream, she caught a glimpse of them and her heart leapt in her chest for some odd reason. She tried to find the gaze again but couldn’t seem to, her thoughts being interrupted by the weight of the hat being placed on her head.

“Ah, another one of you.” She heard the hat say “Twins I presume?”

“Yes, I’m the oldest.”

“You both are a bit older than the others, aren’t you?” The hat commented, “You come here with preferences and preconceptions - certain expectations.”

“I’m looking forward to exploring Hogwarts and the world beyond the castle and grounds” Ellise chirped at the hat.

“Indeed. Much can be gleaned by having an adventurous spirit. But your professors certainly have a great deal to teach you as well.” The hat stopped to think for a bit “You do not give up easily, do you? You are undaunted to challenges that lie ahead, and your loyalty to a friend and your brother delayed your arrival here this evening. I’ve made my mind about you, child.” Ellise fidgeted with her hands and counted down the seconds until the hat announced her house.

“Better be - Hufflepuff!” The hat’s voice echoed down the packed hall, the Hufflepuff table cheering as the woman took the hat off her head and changed her robe accents to a yolky yellow colour. She was placed in a different house from her brother? That made Ellise a bit anxious at the least, she hoped she could befriend anyone soon, she didn’t know how different witch children were from muggle-borns, not like she had muggle friends anyway.

“Anyway, I’m sure you all have plenty to do before classes begin tomorrow,” Nigellus spoke out, the students just stared at him, which seemed to annoy the man “I said - I’m sure you all have plenty to do before classes begin tomorrow!”

Students rolled their eyes and groaned as all of them got up and exited the hall one by one, Ellise figured she wouldn’t be able to talk to anyone from her house tonight which annoyed her even more.

The woman turned towards her and Aiden “Quite an entrance! It’s lovely to meet you, I’m-”

“Professor Weasley,” The Headmaster interrupted “- Would you be so kind as to show our new students their common rooms?”

“I shall see to it, sir.” she nodded and turned back to the twins “As I was saying - I’m Matilda Weasley, a pleasure to meet you.”

Aiden shook her hand “I’m Aiden Villin, this is my sister Ellise. A pleasure to meet you as well professor.” Ellise also shook her hand and gave her a soft smile, which she returned.

“As Deputy Headmistress, it is my distinct honour to show you both to your common rooms. Right this way.”

The Apparition - Hogwarts Legacy Fanfic (s.s)

Finally, they got to Ellise’s common room, they made sure to drop off her brother first in the Slytherin common room, the snake door leaving the girl’s mouth agape.

The Hufflepuff common room entrance was less extraordinary, consisting of what seemed like a wine cellar full of huge barrels “Now, here we are at the entrance to the Hufflepuff common room.” Matilda gestured to a couple of stacked barrels on the far end of the cellar.

“This is the entrance?” Ellise asked, puzzled.

“Indeed! I will explain what to do, but I hesitate to do it myself as one errant knock leads to being doused in vinegar. Most unpleasant.” She let out a low chuckle “You must tap the barrel, two from the bottom, middle of the second row, in the rhythm of Hel-ga Huff-le-puff”

Ellise approached the barrels, the last thing she needed this evening was to be doused in vinegar, having to wash herself and her new uniform. She tapped the barrel in the rhythm, thankfully in the correct way, and the biggest barrel in the cellar revealed a tunnel, she couldn’t hide her relieved smile.

“Well done! Now you go in and get some sleep, you have a big day ahead of you tomorrow.” The professor said and Ellise climbed into the barrel entrance “Please make sure to find your brother in his common room if you can, I’ll meet you both there in the morning to collect you both for your first class.”

“Thank you, Professor Weasley.” Ellise said, grateful that not all faculty was like the goaty Headmaster.

“You’re welcome. I hope you enjoy your first night at Hogwarts. Sleep well.”

As Ellise reached the room of the fifth years, she noticed everyone was already asleep, so she was careful to be as quiet as possible. Waking sleeping colleagues had to be an awful first impression. To her surprise, her owl, Harriet, made it from the dragon attack. She changed into the pair of pyjamas that were neatly folded on her bed and scritched the owl’s chin, muttering a low “Good girl.”

When she let herself fall on the bed, she felt the heavy exhaustion on her sore muscles, she hoped tomorrow would be more peaceful for her and she was looking forward to starting classes and meeting all sorts of people, people like her.

That night, for the first time in ages, her dreams didn’t disrupt her sleep.

IMPORTANT HARRY POTTER QUESTION!!!

For all of us that have read HP fics of whatever era we have inevitably come across a common room party.

My question is how do the older kids keep the younger ones out of the parties??? Like what if one comes in late from the library? Ok sure you send that kiddo up to bed but what about the others up in their rooms? How do you keep them from coming down and partaking in something beyond their age range????

If anyone has any thoughts or ideas please let me know I can’t think of anything logical …

“can i have this dance?”

warnings: a kiss on the cheek, angst, thats it i think. (hermione is not in this story btw)

lorenzo berkshire x reader

where a gryffindor who hates slytherins gets swept off her feet by one at the yule ball..

Can I Have This Dance?

“are you guys really not going to dance at all?” i huff, exasperated.

im currently sitting down at a table with ron and harry, watching boredly as everyone dances with their partners. i’d had to go with harry to the yule ball, because i (embarrassingly) had no one else to go with.

“correct.” says ron, lazily manspreading next to me.

i roll my eyes. padma patil is also sitting with us, as she’d come with ron. bad luck for her i guess. suddenly, she’s swept off by a hufflepuff boy, who asks her to dance.

“arm, leg, im yours!” she says excitedly.

i groan, watching her leave. god, im not too fond of dancing, but anything would be better than this. i scan the large ballroom, and my eyes land on the slytherin boys. the only ones with dates are draco and blaise. the others just go with anyone they want, it gives them more freedom i suppose. then, i could’ve sworn i caught lorenzo berkshire’s eye. i brush it off, shaking my head. i mean, how could i have?

the music changes to a slow, romantic song. im just about to get up and leave to go to the bathroom to avoid the embarrassment, when ron speaks up, surprised.

“what the hell does that old git want?” he says judgmentally. i look up and follow his gaze, and see enzo berkshire walking towards us. ron’s right, what could he possibly want?

we watch cautiously, as he gradually comes closer, his stupid smirk plastered on his face. i frown at him, wondering if he’s confused or something. the slytherin boys hate our trio, and we hate them. what’s going on?? he walks up to us, and holds out his arm to me.

“can i have this dance?” he asks calmly, his lips curling into a smug smirk. i look at ron and harry, confused. they’re giving me a ‘dont you dare’ look. i mean.. its only one dance.. and i want to have a good night. the yule ball only happens once!

i take his arm, and he sweeps me away onto the dance floor. i dont bother looking back at harry and ron’s outraged expressions, i know that they hate lorenzo. my cheeks turn a light shade of pink as he grabs my waist, pulling me closer. i sling my hands over his neck, as we sway to the rhythm of the slow song.

“are you drunk?” i murmur to him. im still trying to wrap my head around the fact he’s asked me to dance, out of all these girls.

“what? no, of course not. why do you ask?” he asks, smiling slightly. gosh, sometimes i wish i could slap that smirk off his face.

“no reason.” i mutter.

after the song ends, he asks me if i want a drink. it surprises me, as i thought he’d just ditch me and go find another girl to flirt with. i excuse myself to go and ask harry and ron if they want one quickly. enzo doesnt mind, and kisses me on the cheek, before going to talk to one of his fellow slytherin mates. stunned, i turn on my heel and walk back to harry and ron.

“oh you’re finally back are you? have fun with that prat? you looked like you did.” snarled ron.

“what are you talking about? it was one dance, nothing happened!” i say, annoyed.

ron gets up, practically dragging harry with him. i run after them, furious. my heels click and clack as i walk frustratedly down the cold, uninviting hallway. suddenly, ron turns around.

“what the bloody hell do you want now?” he yells.

“why are you so fucking annoying? all i did was dance with someone, because youre too lazy to get up off your ass!” i scream at him, tears forming in my eyes. i know im ruining my makeup, but i dont care at this point.

“we all agreed that we hate them, and you just HAVE to rebel against the rules, dont you?” he spat.

“rebel? what is this, some sort of cult?!”

“im sick of this, why dont you go and get your face eaten off by that berkshire git? its all he wants from you. you’re stupid honestly, thinking he actually likes you.” he yells at me.

i stand there in shock, tears pouring down. harry and him run up the stairs, as ron mutters to harry,

“they get scary when theyre older.”

“ron, you spoiled EVERYTHING!” i yell at him. they rush off and i sit down on the stairs, yanking my shoes off, and start sobbing.

A/N: this was pretty bad im ngl, i kinda ran out of ideas at the end, so its pretty repetitive. my next post will be better i promise!

ghosting

warnings: angst, swearing, a kiss

lorenzo berkshire x reader

a part 2 / follow on of “can i have this dance?”

1st person pov

where a gryffindor got into a fight with her best mate, and is ghosting the guy who she believes to be the cause of this. will he change her mind?

 Ghosting

“theyre both not talking to you? doesnt seem like harry.” says hermione.

we’re both walking to dreaded potions class with professor snape, and of course, we share it with slytherin. which means seeing lorenzo berkshire, who ive been ignoring all week, since the yule ball. of course, he hasnt not noticed this, i can tell. probably because i havent been very discreet, practically running away whenever i see him turn the corner..

“i think it’s just because he’s ron’s best mate, y’know. doesnt want him to be the only one thinking that way. harry’s pretty chill.” i say, trying to convince myself that is the reason.

“im sure you’re right, y/n. dont let it get to your head, okay?”

i nod, as we turn into the doorway of the cold, uninviting potions class. we quickly find our seats with harry and ron, the awkwardness between us all immediately setting in. i can feel lorenzo’s eyes boring into the back of my head, and i try to ignore it.

“today, we’ll be… switching things up a bit.” snarls snape.

“i’ll be putting you with different partners. im sick of the.. gossip in my lessons recently.”

i huff, anxiety building up with me. the only person i could stand being put with was hermione, and i knew that wouldnt happen. snape had it out for us four all the time. snape starts reading out who gets partnered with who, and i rest my head on my hand.

“mr weasley with mr berkshire..” my eyes widen and i cringe. i stare at ron in disbelief, and he seems furious. i look back to see enzo roll his eyes and huff.

“miss granger with miss parkinson.. and finally, miss l/n with mr nott.”

i groan, and slap a hand over my mouth when i realise. snape would give me detention for anything now.

“something upsetting you miss l/n?” the professor snarls, his lips curling into a smirk.

“nothing sir.” i clear my throat, and get up, reluctantly walking over to theodore.

after the demonstration snape gave us, i want to cut the obvious tension with nott.

“okay, so the first ingredient we need to add is-“

“cut the shit, y/n.”

i stop suddenly, turning around and furrowing my eyebrows.

“excuse me? what the hell is wrong with you?”

“what’s wrong with me? whats wrong with you?? he spits.

“you’ve been turning enzo inside out since the yule ball, because you can’t get your shit together! seriously, youre ghosting him, and for what?”

my jaw drops, and i just stare at him, trying to process what he’d just shouted at me. he carries on.

“i couldnt care less about some girl enzo kissed, but you’re hurting him, and he’s my best mate. sort it out.”

he turns away from me, putting random shit into his cauldron as my face heats up, partly from embarrassment, partly from confusion. i’d been hurting him? i’d been turning him inside out? fuck. i needed to sort this out, but how?

“he shouted that at you? jeez.” exclaims hermione. we’re currently in the library, as i sit by a desk, watching hermione put books away deep in thought.

“i think you definitely need to talk to ron, and then talk to lorenzo. explain why you’ve been ignoring him. its not fair to him..”

“i know, i know. where would ron be right now?” i ask, pretty much to myself.

“common room maybe? he’s probably playing chess.” hermione reasons.

“i’d better go, is that okay?”

“of course! go, quickly!” she ushers me out of the library, as i sprint down the corridors, earning strange looks from students. i dont know why im running really, but i have a strange sense of urgency bubbling in me.

i burst through the painting and into the common room, with my hands on my knees, panting heavily.

“ron weasley!” i shout, between breaths. a ginger head turns from the couch by the fireplace, a confused expression painted on his face. once he sees me, his expression darkens.

“what do you want?”

“please ron, just listen to me!”

ron turns away, but someone grabs his arm, pulling him back towards me. its harry. a small smile breaks onto my face, and harry softly smiles back, as ron scoffs.

“what do you want now? come to tell me youre dating that git?”

“ron. ron i- i dont want to lose you. you’re my bestfriend and ive known you for years. i love you so much, and i just want you back. please ron.” by this point i’d burst into tears, sobbing and gasping for breath. i watched ron’s facial expression soften, and before i knew it, i was being wrapped up into a hug by ron’s strong arms.

he didnt say much, just hugging me, as i let it all out, wetting his jumper with my salty tears. i broke the hug, wiping my eyes and quickly hugged harry, before turning to leave.

“where are you going?” ron asked. not in a horrible way though, he said it with a soft tone, pure curiosity.

“i need to set things right with lorenzo..” i trail off, waiting for ron to get angry again. but instead, he took a deep breath, and nodded.

running blindly through the corridors trying to find enzo, i thumped into someone.

“sorry, sorry.” i apologise profusely, trying to keep going, when im held back by someone. its theodore nott. i gulp, looking up at him.

“dont start, okay? where’s lorenzo, i need to set things right with him.”

“atta girl.” he smiled, and it was the first time id ever seen him with a look of happiness on his face.

“he’s in the courtyard, sheltering from the rain and smoking a cig.”

“thank you, thank you!!” i call back to him, already running past him, jumping slightly as thunder rumbled loudly outside, clearly a thunderstorm going on.

“lorenzo, lorenzo!!” i shout, seeing a figure puffing out smoke, and looking my way.

he just looks at me, before turning on his heel, as i run up to him, tears welling up in my eyes. im not even sure why im crying, but i call out again.

“please, just hear me out. you can leave and never speak to me again after, but just hear me out, enzo.”

i watch him stop in his tracks as he turns around to face me. i exhale as i make eye contact with him.

“go on then.” is all he says, before i start rambling.

“im so so SO sorry. i should’ve never ghosted you, i was just scared of losing ron because he never had been mad at me like that before, i thought if he didnt see me around you he would be friends with me within the first day but he didnt, and im so stupid for it, and theres just.. something about you and i honestly, i honestly just missed you enzo. and yes, i know thats stupid because how can i? you know….”

because of my rambling, i missed how he started to walk closer to me, and suddenly i feel his large hands cup my face, as i trail off. he engulfs me in a soft kiss, that ignites sparks in my chest.

“its okay” he smiles at me, wiping the tears off my cheeks with his thumb. i immediately wrap my arms around his muscular build, crying. but they were tears of joy this time.

enzo grabs my hand, leading me into the courtyard area with no shelter, as rain hammers down onto us. he spins me around, as we ballroom dance in the pouring rain. the only sounds that could be heard were our laughs and the pattering of the rain on the paving stones. he leans in and we kiss, longer than the first time, but i can feel the genuine love in the kiss.

i smile against him, feeling the happiest ive felt in a while.

A/N: this took me a while to write for some reason, but i hope its okay, im still rusty at writing angst and fluff. 😭 btw its not proofread so sorry for mistakes or if a part doesn’t make sense!!

bad idea!

 Bad Idea!
 Bad Idea!
 Bad Idea!

was such a bad idea, im totally fucked.

request by @lovetaylorrussellgrr

contains: fluff, angst a little bit

summary: when childhood bestfriend!mattheo wants to make his ex girlfriend jealous, and fake date you, you decide to go along with it. however, his ex might not be the only jealous one…

warnings: swearing (as usual), kissing, i dont think anything else??

“please?? can you just do this one favour for me? we’ve been friends for like, forever!!!” mattheo whined to you.

you were in the library, putting away some books you had used for your revision.

“no way! im not fake-dating you so you can date pansy again.” you say, finding the idea ridiculous.

“pleaseeee?” he suddenly grabbed your shoulders, shaking you roughly as he begged over and over again.

“oh my god, fine!” you say, as he lets go of you.

“you’re such a dick.” you put your final book away, walking out of the library, as he follows beside you.

“you know you love me.” he prods you, smirking smugly, as you roll your eyes.

“whatever. how are we gonna play this out? i mean, are we just going to make out infront of everyone or something?” you ask.

“okay, here’s the plan.”

you’re hanging out with enzo, draco, theodore, mattheo, and blaise in the courtyard, just before your first period. its not unusual to hang out with them, since you’ve known mattheo for such a long time, and theyre his best mates.

you fidget uncomfortably, listening to lorenzo’s new ludicrous story that happened to him one time, as thoughts race through your head.

how is mattheo so comfortable with this?

isnt it weird to him? i mean we’ve been bestfriends since our childhoods..

is he as nervous as me?

this seems like a bad idea..

you snap out of your daze, once you realise its time for class. you walk towards mattheo, your nerves fizzing and popping inside you like fireworks.

“hey, i’ll see you later okay? i gotta get to class.” you stick to the “script” as mattheo calls it, and lean in.

then, you two kiss. it starts off soft and slow, before he wraps his arms around you as it becomes more passionate. time seems to slow down as you become entranced in the embrace, before you come back to your senses and pull apart. that was definitely not part of the script..

“what the fuck?!” enzo shouts.

“jesus, you didnt have to eat her face off, she’s just going to class!” blaise exclaims.

“when did this even happen?” draco chimes in. the plan was working.

mattheo gives you a smile, with a glint of a smug look in his eyes as he nods his head to the side. you follow his gaze, and see pansy parkinson glaring at you both, as she stands with her new boyfriend. you feel glad that the plan is working, as you walk off towards your class.

it had been a month since you and mattheo’s “relationship” started up, and god, word spreads FAST in hogwarts. the whole of slytherin and gryffindor knew by the first day, ravenclaw and hufflepuff following behind after the second day, and the teachers on the fourth day. you had gained a lot of popularity and attention, and you didnt mind it most of the time, but sometimes it made you feel uneasy.

that month was full of makeouts, holding hands, going on dates (making sure pansy was where you guys were of course) , hugs, and lots more. and it seemed to be working!

you were sitting at a table in the great hall, during a study session with snape. you sat next to mattheo obviously, and the rest of his mates. you wondered if it was too obvious, what with how much time you’d been spending with him. you’d had like no break with eachother, every day was spent together.

“hey, matty?” you whisper, in order to not get caught by snape, who was in a bad mood (as usual).

“hm?”

“dont you think we’re being too.. obvious?”

“you’re just anxious, y/n. trust me, everything’s fine.” he whispers back, placing a hand on yours, as butterflies fluttered in your stomach.

you startled at the feeling, trying to shake it off.

this was your bestfriend, that you’d known since you were 5… there was nothing going on between you and him. and you didnt have feelings for him!! you couldnt… right?

you frowned. it seemed like the only thing he cared about was getting pansy back. this was the deal though, and you had to go along with it.

“y/n?” mattheo whispered again

“yes?”

“theres a party in the slytherin common room tonight, and we should both go, is that okay?”

“yeah, sure.” you reply, before a book slammed down on both of your heads, as you winced. snape swiftly walked away, and you both looked at eachother, stifling a giggle.

green lights blinded you, as music played at an ear-splitting volume, while you pushed through the crowd, trying to get to mattheo. you had another script you had to act out, and you took several shots of the probably very strong alcohol on display before it.

the thing is, you’d.. caught feelings. you knew it, and the only way you could push them away was being totally consumed by alcohol. that way, the sting of being broken up with in a fake relationship would hurt less to you.

every slight touch, every entrancing kiss, every fiery makeout made your feelings build up until you couldn’t take it anymore. you had to remind yourself that this was all an act, it meant nothing to mattheo. and.. that hurt. this whole thing was such a bad idea.

to be honest, you’d always known he was your crush. i mean, how couldnt you? he would always hug you when you were crying, and watch films with you whenever you wanted. you’d both fall asleep together, tangled up by the morning. he’d buy you your favourite foods and cravings when you were on your period, and kiss you softly on the forehead everytime he left the room or hugged.

and you guessed you’d been his crush. you were wrong.

you reached mattheo, shaking the thoughts and memories off, and he looked kind of.. unsure? his demeanour had changed a lot, and he seemed like he wanted to leave.

“okayyyyy, letsss do this.” you slur your words, grabbing him so he faces you.

“y/n, are you drunk?”

“i’m breaking up with you!!” you shriek, not caring to answer him.

he doesnt answer. he just looks at you plainly.

has he forgotten his script? you think.

“i just dont think its working. im inlove with… lorenzo!” you say in your drunken state.

the room erupts in gasps and hushed whispers. enzo whoops and high-fives blaise behind the crowd, before they come closer and see who is actually speaking. his jaw DROPS.

suddenly, pansy rushes forward to mattheo, crashing her lips onto his, as he’s taken by surprise. your eyes widen, and you frown, not processing the situation, since youre hammered.

“and you’re cheating on me?!” you scream.

you snatch a drink from someones hand next to you, throwing it all over him, before dropping the empty cup and walking out of the room, satisfied. you take some water with you, and sit down in an empty corridor, taking a few sips and sighing.

half an hour later, you hear the click-clack of footsteps getting closer to you. you’d sobered up quite a bit (after throwing up in the bathroom nearest to you), and looked around the corner expectantly.

“what the fuck, y/n? most of that wasnt part of the script. and why were you so drunk?”

“can you stop calling it that? im your girl- bestfriend, not an actor. anyway, you’ve got pansy now. im just tired of being dragged around and told what to do all the time.” you blurt out, praying he wouldnt catch the slip-up.

he sat down beside you.

“im sorry, y/n. i basically used you, and im a dick.”

“told you that already, many times.” you say, as you both laugh.

“i realised that at the party. i wanted to call it off, but you started saying stuff. i also realised something else-“

“im inlove with you!” you shriek. you didnt even know where you’d gotten that confidence from.

that was such a bad idea, im totally fucked.

he just sits there, dumbfounded. you fidget uncomfortably, wanting him to atleast answer you.

then, he puts his hand on your cheek. a soft kiss follows, and you can feel the love in this one. it wasnt like one of his put-on ones for pansy. no one was looking here. it was real.

“i love you.”

“really?” you ask.

“yes, you idiot.

“i love you too.”

“i mean, could you not tell?? all those films we watched, all the snacks i bought you, the valentines gifts that were ‘friendly’, etc etc. ive loved you since i was little.” he kisses your cheek as you smile.

“maybe this wasnt such a bad idea.”
