hotel del luna was just what i needed after doom at your service. iu as an amazing hotel owner with kickass fashion sense and yeo jin gu as a goofy cutie pie.

i. perfect example of started this show for the guy and continued for the girl. as much as i loved ku chan seong, jang man weol was an all rounder package, truly. she was sparkly, beautiful, vulnerable, soldier, warrior, fighter, lover all in one. ku chan seong, an amazing character which allowed man weol to shine so much while keeping her in check? definition of man written by women.

ii. our little hotel del luna family, beginning from mr. noh, ji hyun joon, ms. choi, mr. kim, chan seong, yu na and man weol, gave me so many feels. loved how truly deep man weol's bond with each of them went. she's not truly heartless, after all.

iii. loved how each individual character, from sanchez to every hotel staff was explored so in depth and beautifully, in a way that never felt forced. it all flowed in a very natural way that never makes you want to fast forward to the main characters.

iv. what was up with ma go. genuinely did not understand the sisters. also, faced an important question - does the interior of the hotel change with the current trend, man weol's financial status or the blooming of the flowers? because we saw the interior being the same when they shifted, despite the house being cheaper.

v. the friendship between each character. like the time when the staff finally involved chan seong in their "hwaiting!" thing, or when man weol was the only one who could convince hyun joon to meet his enemy. the end scene between ms. choi and man weol was so wholesome and made me cry more than man weol and chan seong. even man weol and mr. kim love-hate relationship was so cute. sanchez and his kindheartedness, my heart broke for the guy with veronica.

overall, this drama was a perfect fantasy show, enough to keep you intrigued. the main leads have everything, from chemistry, banter, fights, jokes and sharing power dynamic.

Hotel Del Luna - Catching up with K-Drama

I’ve been away from the drama scene for awhile. But now that gifting season has arrived, I’ve got requests to crochet fun pretties for the holidays... so cue the episode bingeing! Catching up on Hotel Del Luna tonight. I LOVE Master’s Sun (another drama written by the famed Hong sisters), so I was stoked for another ghost story from them. They do spooky humor so well. Eps 5-6 featured a fantastic spoof on leading man Yeo Jin Goo’s “The Crowned Clown” (if you haven’t seen it, you’re missing out). I’m low-key worried I’m going to get an ending I hate here... because both couples (and OMG, I am in love with PO and Mina as the second couple!!) have the potential to end so sadly... eek.

16. Hotel Del Luna

I watched this because it kept showing up on Netflix and I was eager to watch it since it was fantasy.

I loved the concept of this show. Each episode had little stories involving the guests of the hotel which kept it interesting while the main story played out at a slower pace. I enjoyed being kept in suspense about Man Weol's history, just when you think you know what happened...nope there's more to it. One of my favourite "unfinished business" plots was Hyun Joong's.

Definitely recommending this one and I am also hoping for a sequel..who doesn't want to watch Kim Soo-hyun in a suit??

smooth talker, powerful supernatural beings who are fluent in sarcasm and graduated from insufferable school being in love absolutely fucking whipped will always be my kind of thing.

I'm actually feral for that concept. Fight me if you dare.

Plus points if their partner it's as strong minded and colorful vocabularied/ eloquent as them.

Plus plus points if it's a love-hate relationship, full of bickering and unwanted feelings, DENIAL.

PLUS PLUS PLUS if they are a sad broken black cat (or smug orange, I won't complain) like who has lost all faith in humanity and could not care less about anything than themselves but actually the only thing they want more is some love and hugs and kisses. This being with or without their knowledge.

And then, their partner comes into their lives like saying "let me remind you how wonderful existing it's"

"Because I love you!"

"wait, WHY AM I JEALOUS?"

"what in the name of FUCK IS THIS APPARENTLY NAMED FEELING"

"Me?" points at themselves "with them?" looks at them doing the most weirdest thing. "Nah, there's no way".

"Who did this to you?" AAAAAAAAAAAA

The unbeatable "you are useful to me for this reason"/ I'm keeping you alive for this reason". At first it's true, BUT time goes on...and feelings are developed, they start using it as an excuse to protect them, to keep them close. To hide the undeniable truth.

UNTIL. THEY. DON'T. It's the moment they just want to be with them and could actually care less about what anyone says about it. They love this person and they want to make them happy.

It will always, always, always melt my heart the moment when A and B are looking at something really pretty, really nice and A says or asks "It's beautiful"/"Isn't it beautiful?"

And B that at first may have been looking at it says:

"Yes"

And then turns to A with that look of "I've loved you since the day I met you" to continue with

"It's beautiful"

I'll tell you, it never gets old for me.
