hey so I just saw a post about physical disabilities and it mentioned tourettes and now I'm interested - is it physical or mental? The answer I'll probably get is "both" but I want to know more.
If I use the wrong word or say something outright false or hurtful I apologize and I will edit this post upon request. Current thoughts below the cut
Physical - it affects impulse control, right? Not, like, impulsiveness as a personality but nerves firing in ways that they do not for people without tourettes. And it moves your body, your lips, your fingers, all that. I don't think it changes the way you think, or the way you feel, or the way you respond emotionally, but I don't actually know. @patlikesart argues that tourettes is physical, but tics can be triggered by a mental illness such as anxiety. @merricat, as someone suffering from no other mental illnesses or disabilities, furthers the physical disability argument for tourettes in saying that tourettes can just fire without the assistance from anxiety, depression, etc. Mental affects from it are referred to as "Neuropsychiatric" and are individual, despite stemming from neurological disorders.
Mental - it affects your nerves. For an octopus, most of their brains are spread out along their body as their nerves. Do nerves count as part of your brain? Tourettes doesn't affect muscle tissue or bones, it's just the nerves controlling those things. Where is the split between mind and body?

then they told me that protesting for my Black siblings was wrong.
i remember adults telling me, as a kid, that we needed to give to the poor. working at soup kitchens. making quilts. collecting food and money and supplies. building houses. because it was the christian and just plain right thing to do.
now they look at me, on food stamps with their grandchildren, and lament the "welfare state".

Protest is legitimate and what the Israeli government is doing in Gaza is to be condemned. But in a way that is worthy of people with an intellectual background at eye level with arguments. Not with rioting like in some universities, which is rather shameful for all involved!
Instead of seeking democratic dialogue and putting forward arguments that cannot be overlooked or denied in order to substantiate reasonable demands.
Senseless rioting and escalation by students, police and those responsible at the respective universities.
Sad, we say, and you wonder why the United States of America is so irreconcilably divided!
If the intellectuals or the future intellectuals can't deal with each other normally when it comes to different points of view! Or maybe they are even the same points of view, but why pick up the other when you want escalation?
Rioting for the sake of rioting, as an end in itself in the culture of agitation.
Escalation must be sought and wanted on both sides and so it is with de-escalation!

They are two different BMIs but that's normal for their world. But they are still fat skinky ass men lol. But would that mean that they are like both the same amount of fat? Even if Charlie is just... Bigger overall? Someone know what I mean?? Also like 9/10 times I feel like we see Charlie eating more than Pim. Maybe that's just cause he has more capacity to do so. My book, Soulless Prince, is an epic adventure that starts with political intrigue. The main characters are the Saintess, her Beloved, and a hillbilly transmitrator from Earth. The world, Mythiric, was attacked by an evil god and covered with miasma. The god then convinced everyone to worship him and spread further misery to convert the planet's pure energy into rot so he could consume it.
"Suffer and become One with Me" the demon god promised, as if this were good.
The three heroes must unite the world's people, devise a way to fight a demon god, and successfully defeat it.

my debut novel, she knows is a dark thriller set in a rural british town where a serial killer is stalking the streets. sylvie garcia, the daughter of a medical examiner takes the investigation into her own hands after the police’s leads go cold. despite their beliefs, sylvie’s convinced the killer is a woman. she then enlists her friend group to aid her in the investigation. unknowingly, the murderer is her childhood best friend and her concealed longing. With an innocent facade, florence has deceived everyone including sylvie, who remains deeply attached to her despite the growing darkness around them even after the truth is revealed.
Anyone have any thoughts on this? I disagree with his assertion but I like the logical reasoning
I have a question (asking it here because i never post anything here and i'm bored and not wanting to use reddit even though i only have one follower on here so...):
Are there songs that you only like when slowed down (and reverbed)?
i've been wondering this for a while because sometimes i do hear songs and listen to them only to find out it's a slowed song. i'll listen to the original, and sometimes, not like it as much. and while it does happen rarely, there are songs that i just, almost can't listen to knowing that there's a... better... version of it i could be listening to. for example, violent crimes by kanye. original song is a 7 out of 10 for me, lyrics go hard, the tone of it is unlike any songs i've heard before (at the time), and everything else about it is just really good. but i heard the slowed down and reverbed version of it and, just, omg. 10/10 one of the best songs i've ever heard. i've found that the main reason i like songs are the notes that are in it (i don't really enjoy a specific genre of music) and when this song was slowed, it was also pitched down, so the notes changed and, just, wow. they sit and marinate in the back of my skull as i zone out and just, listen to the song. not to mention the lyrics are still the same (obviously) so the song still has that gut hitting felling as the original, but just better. it's just crazy to me that a slowed version of the song can just be miles better than the original. and i know that there's an "i'm 14 and this is deep" stigma with slowed and reverbed songs, but i feel like with this song in particular, it's only good when slowed (and pitched down with that).
there are a couple other songs that i listen to and just get a different vibe with the slowed version so i like both equally the same. sometimes i listen to a slowed song and absolutely hate it compared to the original (weather i think i ruins the original point/tone of the song or it's just bad in general), and other times, like with this song, it's just better. so i was wondering if you also had any songs that you just physically cannot listen to the original after hearing the slowed and reverbed version of it.

Let's talk about writers block
Hello lovelies, I thought I'd get on a topic I've really been struggling with and that is writers block. For any fanfiction writer or any writer in general, you know exactly what I'm talking about and it's extremely frustrating. Not only is it frustrating, it's draining, physically and mentally. I've been struggling on and off with writers block since 2020, it's been extremely hard for me to write, sometimes I can't even write at all. I've had my up's and down's with it. One minute I have an idea and if I blink, it's gone, other times I don't have ideas at all and I'm just staring at a blank screen mentally pulling my hair out because I want to write so bad it hurts, but I can't think of anything to write. It's like there's a brick wall blocking any type of ideas. I've tried just about every method to get past writers block. I unfortunately can't give any advice because I'm still struggling with writers block. The only advice I can give that's genuinely helped me is to brainstorm your ideas with a friend. It really helps get the creative juices flowing. If you can find a way to help get your ideas flowing, it really helps. Of course, different methods work better for others. I just haven't found anything that helps me yet, aside from brainstorming my ideas with a friend, or typing the idea as it flows. That's what I usually do, anytime I get an idea, I write it down and let my thumbs do the work to bring it together. But that doesn't always work. What works flawlessly for me is going back to writing on paper, because that's how I started. I found I could write endlessly on paper, but again, that might not work for everyone, especially if you don't have an endless supply of notebook paper or a notebook in general. If you can't write on paper, find something that works just as well.

As you probably already know, I've been struggling with writers block, I struggle on what to post on here too.
I need inspiration and ideas for what to write. I was hoping people could help me out.
I haven't been getting much traction on here, unfortunately. But I'm willing to be patient and wait it out.
I posted a poll when I first started my blog and it ends tomorrow, once the results are in, I'll make a post asking what I should write for whatever fandom from my poll won.
I still have a lot of works in progress and more updates on the way, so stay tuned for that.
In the meantime, please give me some ideas for what you want me to write about.
I'm dying for some inspiration, anything really.

I enjoyed reading and watching jjk but after Shibuya arc it kinda fell of for me. I don't keep up with it anymore, sometimes my friend will tell me a summarize version of the recent arc, character development, and also some panels. The only thing that I can say is wtf was gege thinking??? I get that sukuna is strong and is considered a god of some sort but this is getting to out of hand. Like what do you mean "ah yes, a technique that I haven't use since the Heian era". It's also getting repetitive. A character gets a power bost → said character fight sukuna → then dies. There's also Gojos family and Rikas back stories that are not shown like ever! Not only that but gege is bad at writing female characters and utilizing them, don't get me wrong I love the jjk girls and women (except for mei mei) but they are not utilized enough. Like Shoko for example, she's a great character but we never get to see her do anything, and we really never get to see her story, how she feels about all of this. Yes, there is a couple of panels that has Shoko inner dialog but it's so mistranslated and so missunderstod. And it's not only Shoko that's underutilized, the Kyoto high girls are as well especially momo. I know that she's not a main character but at least give her something that makes her interesting. The most realistic part of the story is that the Kamo family doesn't participate in the battle, I was kinda disappointed that we can't see Noritoshi fight along side Choso and Yuuji. I think it would be a really great pairing but it's not going to happen, again the Kamo family's decision is relatable, majority of us would probably leave to. I'm just kinda disappointed that he doesn't have a significant role in this arc. Theres a lot of thing that i want to get of my mind about jjk and some other anime that I have watch. Even though there's somethings that I didn't like about jjk I still enjoyed it nonetheless
