Me realizing that as an author, I actually have to write stories and have at least a consistent updating schedule for the sake of my readers who have shown their love and support for your stories and being the people pleaser you are you, you do wright the fics and then school and procrastination hit you:
I began researching book publication today for my fictional novel and I believe I've decided to go through Amazon. I'm debating whether I should plan to hire editors and marketers, one or the other, or maybe neither....
If anyone has any advice or experience in this department, I'm very new to it all and would appreciate it!
(My novel is a psychological novel with themes of sci-fi and romance if that helps)

Reading a draft of your own fic chapter and l o v i n g it is great up until you get to the point where you just stopped fucking writing
My book, Soulless Prince, is an epic adventure that starts with political intrigue. The main characters are the Saintess, her Beloved, and a hillbilly transmitrator from Earth. The world, Mythiric, was attacked by an evil god and covered with miasma. The god then convinced everyone to worship him and spread further misery to convert the planet's pure energy into rot so he could consume it.
"Suffer and become One with Me" the demon god promised, as if this were good.
The three heroes must unite the world's people, devise a way to fight a demon god, and successfully defeat it.

my debut novel, she knows is a dark thriller set in a rural british town where a serial killer is stalking the streets. sylvie garcia, the daughter of a medical examiner takes the investigation into her own hands after the police’s leads go cold. despite their beliefs, sylvie’s convinced the killer is a woman. she then enlists her friend group to aid her in the investigation. unknowingly, the murderer is her childhood best friend and her concealed longing. With an innocent facade, florence has deceived everyone including sylvie, who remains deeply attached to her despite the growing darkness around them even after the truth is revealed.
Character-driven vs Plot-driven Stories
What is a Character-driven story?
Character-driven stories gravitate toward intra and interpersonal relationships with the characters. Unlike a plot-driven story, these types of stories focus on how the character(s) arrives at a choice.Â
Readers tend to enjoy these types of stories because of the realistic characters authors write in those books. It allows the reader to see themselves or others in those characters, developing an emotional connection.
What is a Plot-driven story?
A Plot-driven story gravitates toward the external rather than the internal conflict. Unlike a character-driven story, these types of stories focus on the choice a character must make rather than what they do to get there.
Readers tend to enjoy these types of stories because of the well-constructed plot. Seeing a character in a situation they cannot control may provide a sense of purpose or familiarity for the reader.Â
(This is something my friend said she likes about plot-driven stories. It may be true for other readers, as well.)Â Â Â
Which is best?
I’m going to let you in on a little secret. There is no such thing as the “best” way to write a story. It all depends on preference.
If you want to write a story for an audience who will analyze your characters, write for that audience. If you want a story for an audience who will gravitate toward your well-constructed plot, write for that audience.Â
There is somebody out there who will love your book, I guarantee.Â

I know that it's okay to be cringe and everything, but I'm kind of regretting my whole "don't delete any of your writing because 1) you'll be able to track your progress as a writer and feel better about your current writing and 2) you don't wanna be the asshole who deletes someone's comfort story" rule because I wanna start posting fanfic again, but I don't wanna be tied to all the cringe I wrote pre 2020.
