Cuttlefish

- have no sex, they are neither male nor female biologically, their genitals are designed so that both partners can continue their species

- no nose (smell organ is behind the ears)

- no facial vegetation - no beards, no eyebrows.

- pupils are always wavy in shape.

- average height including tentacles - 163-175 centimetres

- always 6-7 fingers (most often 6)

front teeth are black and much stronger than the rest, they can safely on a permanent basis to chew on seashells or nutshells, without damaging the teeth

Cuttlefish are better immune to stress of all the mollusk-fish, but are absolutely choleric and sometimes aggressive, also like to fight.

Cuttlefish prefer to spawn caviar rather than give birth in the traditional way, as in the conditions of life fish-people under the oppression of humans is very difficult.
Octopuses

- have eyebrows but no beards.
- all octopuses have noses in the usual place.
- eyes change colour (mood or emotion).
- usually the pupils are shaped like stripes or stars.
- only five fingers, just like humans.
- front teeth are as black and strong as those of cuttlefish, but smaller in size.

(picture of a baby octopus, with the caption "eyes open from the first days of life")

Octopuses are very often stereotyped as the most intelligent, graceful and beautiful, in the manner of their unintelligent counterparts that did not evolve from the water and are quite intelligent among fish.
However, this is just a stereotype, octopus-people are exactly the same as all other evolved brethren.

Most of all fish resemble humans (from the tentacles are thin and easy to hide them in trousers, and they can change colours more than others, camouflage...and unlike other mollusks have a nose).

- they don't spawn caviar because they can't.
- In general, very rarely have families and children, for 5 octopus families only 3 will have children and all of them will have one child.
Squid

_ they have no facial hair
_ they have six fingers without webbing
_ they have no nipples
_ pupils are varied! but more often circular or drop-shaped.
_ one black upper and lower tooth in front (much thicker than cuttlefish or octopuses)
_ as sexless as cuttlefish.

2 of the tentacles are different

_ many times taller than cuttlefish and octopus, their height averaging between 183cm and 200+cm.

Squid are often stereotyped as stupid and mentally disabled because of their facial expression and height, but this is just as much a stereotype as saying that all octopuses are graceful and intelligent.

_ ONLY spawn caviar, because they can't give birth directly
Nautiluses

"Г"-shaped posture (perfectly normal and comfortable for them).

_ they have pearlescent ears.
_ they have absolutely no hair, both on their body and face!
_ in some places their ears are not only pearlescent, but it's just a matter of luck.
_ in general they have either five or seven fingers, it varies from person to person.
_ they all have the same colour and type of eyes.

No tentacles like squid, cuttlefish and octopus. Not quite sure what causes this, a random evolutionary feature.

(Variant 2, a differently shaped head.)

_ all teeth (except the chewing teeth) are sharp.

they are the least human-like of all mollusk fishes (and they're very proud of it).

(picture of a baby nautilus outside the caviar and in the caviar)

_ do not spawn caviar...although they could! (moreover, it would reduce the terrible death rate from the first days of life)
Argonauts.

_ unusually shaped heads (this does NOT affect their intelligence)
_ completely different (but ALWAYS circular) pupils.

(hat picture: variant headdress on the shell motif of the non-evolved sea Argonauts)
_ 7-8 fingers (most often 7).

The smallest of the mollusks - their average height is only 143-154 cm.

Smallest group of fish-people, poor survival rate, heavy evolution has reduced their numbers VERY severely.

In the course of evolution lost sexual dimorphism, becoming sexless (like most fish when going on land, by the way), and also lost their shells for lack of use.

_ Can only spawn caviar and do so with a huge number of roe, but only one individual survives until the age of final development of the caviar, and in the conditions in which fish-people live, even this one individual is becoming increasingly rare.

I found it tricky to rework the picture, so I've included the translation in the annotations instead!

Here are some anatomically images of fishes fellas from my fish setting.

Nautilus is a genus of cephalopods, which are classified as "living fossils". The most common species is Nautilus pompilius. Nautilus belong to the only modern genus of the Nautiloid subclass. The first representatives of the Nautiloids appeared in the Cambrian, and its development took place during the Paleozoic. The Nautilids almost died out on the border of the Triassic and Jurassic, but still survived to the present day, unlike their Ammonite relatives. Some species of ancient Nautilus reached a size of 3.5 m. Representatives of the largest species of modern nautilus reach a maximum size of 25 cm.

The spiral "house" of the mollusk consists of 38 chambers and is "built" according to a complex mathematical principle (the law of logarithmic progression). All chambers, except the last and largest, where the nautilus body with nine dozen "legs" is located, are connected through holes with a siphon. The nautilus shell is two–layered: the upper (outer) layer – porcelain–like - really resembles fragile porcelain, and the inner, with a mother-of-pearl luster - mother-of-pearl. The nautilus's "house" grows with its owner, who moves as the shell grows into a larger chamber. The empty dwelling of a mollusk after its death can be found far from its habitat – after the death of the "owner", their shells remain afloat and move at the will of waves, winds and currents.

Interestingly, the Nautilus moves "blindly", backwards, without seeing or imagining the obstacles that may be in its path. And another amazing quality of these ancient inhabitants of the Earth is that they have amazing regeneration: in just a few hours, the wounds on their bodies heal, and in case of loss of tentacles, a new one grows quickly.

Nautilus

This song is by Yorushika, again. I hope you enjoy reading this!

The clock has rung, so I finally opened my eyes

I caught a cold yesterday, and that feels a little like a lie

Though I try to go out, ah, the weather forecast said it’s probably going to rain today

The dawn won’t come, so I won’t go out either way

Being thirsty, or feeling pain in the heart

All the human parts of me are in the way

I raise my head, because of how fast ‘goodbye’ came

If someday the dawn finally comes…

Please, wake up already, look

I have pictured you half-asleep so many times

It’s good that I finally got my umbrella and decided to try to go out, but I think maybe I’ve thrown away my shoes

There’s no way that I’d have the courage to go barefoot

I guess I really don’t care

What do I want to do?

What should I have for dinner?

I think I’ll go out when it clears up

I really prefer not to see any humans, though

With this pace, I’ll swim through today

If my hand could finally touch you…

Please, wake up already, look

Because even if I forget, I’ll always remember the half-asleep you

Before the hill, you’re there, saying “It’s been a long while, huh?”

While smiling and bringing your face closer to me

“Well, let’s go. Just the two of us.” You say

Below the barn in Lapland

The old street of Galma Stan

The summer grass is getting in the way

With this pace, I’ll swim through today

If my hand could finally touch you…

Please, wake up already, look

At me, who’s forgotten you

I raise my head, because of how fast ‘goodbye’ came

If someday the dawn finally comes…

Please, wake up already, look

I have pictured you half-asleep so many times

This song is so sad once you watch the video, and you realize what it means.

But I won’t spoil anything for any of you who hasn’t watched it yet, or listened to it.

I won’t force you or anything, but you should try to give it a listen! Or watch the video, at least.

Thank you for reading this post, I appreciate it! And thank you all my followers for liking my posts.

I’ll post more when I have the time, or you can just let me know what I should post next!

2050 For Nautilus Magazine

‘2050′ for Nautilus Magazine

For an article about how robots will take us with them in the future. Rather than the normal doom and gloom dystopian singularity people normally predict they thought that robots would form a mutual relationship with people. So I came up with a metaphor for positive feedback loops, hence the hand car! I looked at a lot of ‘space wheels,’ from Mass Effect’s Citadel to Elysium, and admittedly even Gundam Wing, to do the background, but Kali Ciesmier’s SEED poster had the biggest effect on the color palette.

Thanks to AD Nicholas Garber!
