simblr’s new year resolutions (2024)

thanks so much for the tag @alientown

what’s your resolution for your simblr?

finally get around to establishing the blog aesthetic with potentially a little rebrand coming very soon but shhhh & get back to posting townie makeovers + I think maybe some build interiors.

get better at tagging on the finds blog and get a little navigation post on

be more present in the community & hopefully make friends with more of my mutuals despite how painfully shy I am on here.

what do you want from the sims franchise?

for them to stop servicing the sims 4 lol

more realistically I want more unique worlds - definitely African + South American based first but also more Asian + European inspired, but I'd even just take one more true urban feeling city like I'm begging

bands, hobbies, & anything that isn't for the young adult stage

bug fixes and the updates to neighborhood stories, sentiments, etc that were promised but of course not delivered - but please no more townie refreshes

any other new year’s resolutions?

be kinder to myself & release my perfectionist tendencies

spend more time in nature + just enjoy existing

simplify all aspects of my life as much as possible

I tag you - yes, you

Resolute

So this one was a little play on the New Years Resolution. There is always someone I know that is announcing “New Year, New Me” and I have this petty part of me that wants to write them all down and announce them later in the year, maybe at their Birthday or the following Christmas. I don’t, and I also don’t do resolutions, and this is about someone else trying to avoid the pressure to make…

Waffling

Hello hello and welcome to the first post of the year, a six-sentence story based on the word TASK. I took quite a while at the end of the year to decide what my 2024 priorities were, and while the six-sentence stories will be sticking around, the microfiction and short story posts are going change to monthly, and go up on the second Monday, and fourth Friday respectively. This year I want to…

New Year, New Us!

Hello Hello and Welcome to the first short story of the year! I wrote this one for something else, but it was a little more bitter than I wanted to share for that audience, so I decided to post it on the internet instead. Follow Vick, who has a bit of New Year, New Me fatigue, and handles it in an interesting manner! “So, what’s your New Year’s Resolution?” Sadie asked, and Vick cringed at the…

Life Tip #63

not sure how to start turning your life around? be honest about what you like !! life became infinitely easier after i admitted that horror movies and anything remotely gorey was terrifying and i actually hated them bc i no longer had to sit through them and pretend like i was enjoying myself. you are allowed to have opinions and you are allowed to not share things in common with people !! ppl will still like you even if you don’t share the same preferences.

Don't Give Up on Your New Year's Resolutions – Keep Pushing Forward!

Don't Give Up On Your New Year's Resolutions Keep Pushing Forward!

Every year, as the clock strikes midnight and we bid farewell to the old year, millions of people around the world enthusiastically embrace the idea of making New Year's resolutions. These resolutions often revolve around self-improvement, whether it be losing weight, quitting bad habits, or pursuing personal goals. However, statistics show that by now, many individuals have already abandoned their resolutions. But don't lose hope! In this blog post, we'll explore why people tend to drop their resolutions and provide you with some valuable tips to help you stay motivated and committed throughout the year.

1. Reflect on your initial motivation: When we first set our New Year's resolutions, there is usually a strong sense of determination and excitement driving us forward. Unfortunately, as time progresses, these feelings tend to fade away. To combat this decline in motivation, take a moment to reflect on why you initially made those resolutions. Remind yourself of the positive changes you were hoping to achieve and how they would enhance your life. This reflection can reignite your passion and remind you of what truly matters.

2. Set realistic expectations: One common reason for abandoning resolutions is setting unrealistic goals from the start. It's important to remember that change takes time and effort. Break down your resolution into smaller, achievable milestones that act as stepping stones towards your ultimate goal. Celebrate each milestone reached; this will keep you motivated and encouraged along the way.

3. Find an accountability partner: Sharing your resolution with someone else can significantly boost your chances of success. By finding an accountability partner—a friend, family member, or colleague who shares similar aspirations—you create a support system where both parties hold each other accountable for staying on track. Regular check-ins can serve as reminders and encouragement during challenging times.

4. Embrace setbacks as learning opportunities: Life is unpredictable, and setbacks are bound to happen. Rather than viewing them as failures, consider these moments as valuable learning opportunities. Identify the reasons behind your setbacks and use them to adjust your approach moving forward. Remember that resilience and perseverance are key to achieving lasting change.

5. Celebrate small victories: Often, people become fixated on the end result of their resolutions, neglecting the progress they have made along the way. Celebrate each small victory—no matter how insignificant it may seem—as it signifies progress towards your ultimate goal. Rewarding yourself for milestones achieved will create a positive reinforcement loop, motivating you to keep going.

As we enter a new phase of the year, it's common for people to drop their New Year's resolutions due to various factors such as loss of motivation or setting unrealistic expectations. However, by reflecting on your initial motivation, setting achievable goals, finding an accountability partner, embracing setbacks as learning opportunities, and celebrating small victories, you can break free from this pattern! Don't give up on your resolutions; instead, keep pushing forward with determination and resilience. Remember that true change takes time, but the rewards will be worth the effort in the end!

Making a Difference: My New Year's Resolution Journey to Donate Monthly

Making A Difference: My New Year's Resolution Journey To Donate Monthly

As the calendar flips to May, I find myself reflecting on the passing months, surprised by how swiftly time has flown. It feels like just yesterday I was jotting down my New Year's resolutions, determined to make positive changes in my life and in the world around me. One of those resolutions? To donate to a different organization each month. Here we are, five months in, with five donations completed and a renewed sense of purpose.

This month, my chosen organization is the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan. Cancer has touched the lives of so many, whether through personal battles or the experiences of loved ones. It's a disease that knows no bounds, affecting individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life. While strides have been made in research and treatment, there is still much work to be done.

The Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan is a beacon of hope in the fight against this formidable foe. Committed to supporting cancer patients, funding research initiatives, and raising awareness, they play a crucial role in the quest for a world without cancer. From providing financial assistance to those undergoing treatment to investing in cutting-edge research, every dollar donated to the foundation makes a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by cancer.

For me, donating to the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan is about more than just writing a cheque or clicking a button online. It's a small but meaningful way to contribute to a cause that has touched my own life and the lives of countless others. It's a reminder that even in the face of adversity, there is power in coming together to support one another.

As I reflect on the past five months, I'm filled with gratitude for the opportunity to give back in this way. Each donation represents a step forward, a tangible manifestation of my commitment to making a difference. While there are still many organizations to support and causes to champion, I take comfort in knowing that every contribution, no matter how small, has the potential to create ripples of positive change.

So as May unfolds and I make my donation to the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan, I do so with a sense of purpose and hope. I may not be able to single-handedly cure cancer or solve all the world's problems, but I can do my part to support those who are fighting the good fight. And in that, I find both solace and strength to continue on this journey of giving.

As the months march on and my resolution progresses, I look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead to make a difference, one donation at a time. After all, the greatest impact often comes from the collective effort of individuals united in a common cause. Together, we can be a force for good in the world.

Here's to the next seven months of giving, of making a difference, and of turning resolutions into reality. May we never lose sight of the power we hold to shape a brighter future for all.
