Stay Focused - Tumblr Posts
So if anyone's struggling with this, I also want to say that you can use your own phone to fight the addiction. There are apps that can limit screen time and help you along.
I spend a lot of time on my phone because commuting to and from work using public transit sucks and takes a very long time, but keeping a phone in my hand keeps people from trying to talk to me.
I play games, read comics, learn languages, track my habits, and do a lot of fun or otherwise useful things on my phone besides the obvious, but what I've implemented about a year ago is using an app to limit this. The one I use is called Stay Focused and I adore it, although I'm sure there are other options I've not tried out.
For example, I get stuck reading comics a lot. I could do this all day and night, okay? To stop that, I set the app not to allow me access from 10PM to 4AM so that I can get some sleep before morning shifts and still read during my commute hours. I then limit my reading time to an hour a day. To make sure I don't spend an hour on my phone just like that, I make it so that for every ten minutes spent looking at comics, I have to spend at least 30 doing something else. Finally, I set it so that the app I read comics on can't even open unless I've spent at least 10 minutes on any educational app. To make sure I stay engaged in conversations, I've made it so that I can't open the comic app for more than 20 times a day, meaning I can't change from one tab to another or lock and unlock my phone, my focus has to be on my phone or elsewhere but can't change between them.
This is just one app, but many of mine have limits and the nice thing is that they can be individual or generic (all my games have the same set of settings, I just tag any newly installed games to have them included), and it can work on the browser you use on your phone too.
Basically, if you're like me and struggle to put your phone down just because it's been five or ten minutes, you can get an app that "forces" you to do so, and there are some really good ones.
I wish it was easier to talk about mobile phone addiction without sounding like a boomer

What To Consider In Order To Become A Successful Student: #11
Prepare for class. As one of my professors said, โIf you donโt know enough about a subject already, lectures are a pretty poor way to learn.โ You have to read the material eventually, so you may as well read it before class. Itโs amazing how much more meaningful the material is the second time you are exposed to it.

#1 MINDSET
First of all bbg ur mindset is more than just a mindset it's a guiding force that influences how you perceive the world, respond to challenges, and ultimately create the life you envision.
THE IDGAF MINDSET IS THE KEY !
๏น โฟ ๏นthey don't like you..they don't like ur style, hair, music taste, interests ? I DON'T CARE YOU ARE YOU I'M ME ! the idgaf mindset is the solution.. everytime someone say something bad about u think and answer like ok and ? Who the fvck care ?. Stop caring about what ppl think about you IT'S YOU VS YOU stop caring about what other say about u . For example if one of ur friends come up to you and say "____ talk sh* about u" don't ask about what that person said abt u it doesn't matter cuz ur life revolve around u and only u. Life become easier once you stop reacting to negativity and that the GOAL cut off friends who bring don't bring u happiness and only bad mood but surround yourself with friends who bring u positivity and motivate you.
TIPS AND HOW TO START BUILDING YOUR OWN MINDSET:
๐๐ โน โง start with listening to podcasts (click here) watch thewizardliz (click here) it will help u so much.๐
๐๐ โน โง break up with friends who hurted you before if they are from ur family distance urself ;)
๐๐ โน โง stop and STOP creating bad scenario on your mind cuz it will effect on ur mood , be positive ๐
๐๐ โน โง make yourself a propriety act like the person u want to become and always be grateful of what u have rn don't say "why ___ is more popular than me" "why I'm not this pretty?" Cuz this will effect u and u will start overthinking..so be grateful of what u have cuz god have always a better plan for u honey !๐
๐๐ โน โง stay private don't tell ppl ur goal and ur future plan !
๐๐ โน โง don't listen to ppl who will bring u down they choose to hate u let them sit with that feeling it's not ur fault to focus on your self girlie ๐
๐๐ โน โง start to don't give a sht about what ppl say behind your back stop oversharing ur personal life (this is the big fault ..u should avoid this and trust me pretty that oversharing=problems)
๐๐ โน โงjust be yourself but with a better mindset cuz u are the only one who know your worth never let anyone costume u or disrespect you "you changed" always say yes for my worth for my future self what do you think u are ? .. if they don't call u, don't respond to ur text put ur phone away go have a good day set boundaries make ppl respect you like if u walk in a room ppl will say "she an unbothered queen fr".You live for yourself sweetie everyone else is second. ๐
ฤฑllฤฑย โ :ย ๐ i believe in you and you should believe in yourself to make it happen..take care xoxo .

GLOW UP DIARY #4 : THE IMPORTANCE OF BOUNDARIES

#4 BOUNDARIES
๐ฌ:Boundaries are limits we set for ourselves. Everyone's boundaries are different, and they are based on what is personally important to us. They can be set in several aspects of life, such as work, relationships, family, and in conflict it can be physical or emotional limits and help to determine a person's comfort level, needs, and preferences. Essentially, boundaries dictate how we want/ allow ourselves to be treated, and how we treat others. Healthy boundaries allow for accountability, respect, and open communication.
Drawing the Line: Understanding and Setting Healthy Boundaries
๏น ๐ ๏น If you grew up in a home where no boundaries were set or where people violated your boundaries, setting and maintaining boundaries may be difficult. It is okay if it is hard. Setting clear boundaries is not selfish, it sets the tone for healthy relationships and is an important part of one's own well being. If you ever notice you feel resentful or drained by a person/place/situation, it may be time to look at the boundaries. Remember, boundaries are not threats or ultimatums. Sometimes it is hard for other's to respect our boundaries, but this is not a reflection of you.
Healthy boundaries look like...
โข valuing your own opinion
โข respecting limits set by you/ others
โข not compromising own values for someone else
โข sharing information appropriately
โข effectively communicating needs/wants
โข accepting "no" from others
โข being able to say "no"
โข being able to identify when a boundary has been broken
TYPE OF BOUNDARIES
Physical Boundaries: These relate to personal space, physical touch, and privacy. Examples include not wanting to be hugged or feeling uncomfortable being touched without permission. "I need personal space and don't appreciate being touched without consent."
Emotional Boundaries: These separate your emotions and responsibilities from others. Examples include not allowing yourself to be blamed for someone else's issues or not taking on other people's problems. "I'm not comfortable discussing my personal feelings right now."
Mental Boundaries: These protect your beliefs, opinions, and identity from being violated. Examples include not arguing about your values or not allowing others to belittle your thoughts and ideas. "I respect your opinion, but I disagree and prefer not to discuss this further."
(there is a lot of types but I focused on these 3)
How to set boundaries
Setting boundaries may take time and practice. Don't get down on yourself if it feels hard.
1. Identify what behaviors from others is acceptable for you, and what might cause discomfort
2. Clearly communicate your boundaries with others. Learn to say no and be assertive.
3. Decide what to do if someone breaks your boundaries. This may mean a tough discussion, taking time away, or ending a relationship.
4. Get clear on your values, needs, and limits. Reflect on what's most important to you and where you need to draw lines.
5. Start small if it's hard at first. Practice with something minor before bigger issues.
6. Use "I" statements to explain your boundary without blaming, like "I'm not comfortable with..."
7. Be direct, firm, and respectful when stating your boundary. Don't over-explain or get defensive.
8. You can't control others' reactions, but you can control how you respond. Calmly reinforce the boundary if needed.
9. Be consistent in upholding your boundaries. If you allow them to be crossed, they won't be taken seriously.
ฤฑllฤฑย โ :ย โ Remember setting and maintaining boundaries is not about controlling others but about creating a space where respectful and healthy interactions can thrive. โย โ โกย โ !!

๐-goal sitting tips :
Setting goals for school can help you stay focused, organized, and motivated throughout the academic year. Hereโs a tailored with practical goal-setting tips specifically for students:
1๏ธโฃ Define Your Academic Goals
Think about what you want to achieve this year. Is it achieving a certain GPA, mastering specific subject, or for college entrance exams? Be about your objectives.
2๏ธโฃ Set Specific Goals
Make your goals specific so that you know exactly what youโre aiming for. Instead of saying โI want to do well in math,โ say, โI want to raise my math grade to a B by the end of the semester.โ
3๏ธโฃ Make It Measurable
Use measurable criteria to track your progress. This could be completing a certain number of study hours each week, scoring a specific grade on tests, or finishing all assigned homework on time.
4๏ธโฃ Use the SMART Framework
Set SMART goalsโSpecific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. For example:
- Specific: โI will study for at least two hours every Sunday for my history exam.โ
- Measurable: โI will complete all my assignments on time.โ
- Achievable: โI can realistically aim for a 3.5 GPA this semester.โ
- Relevant: โImproving my writing skills aligns with my goal of studying English Literature in college.โ
- Time-bound: โI will finish reading my assigned book by the end of this month.โ
5๏ธโฃ Break It Down
Divide larger goals into smaller, manageable tasks. If your goal is to prepare for finals, break it down into studying each subject for a set amount of time each week.
6๏ธโฃ Create an Action Plan
Draft a detailed action plan, including specific tasks and deadlines. Use a planner or a digital calendar to map out when youโll study, complete assignments, and review for tests.
7๏ธโฃ Stay Organized
Organize your materials, notes, and schedules. Use binders, color-coded folders, and digital tools to keep everything in one place, making it easier to stay on top of your tasks.
8๏ธโฃ Set Daily and Weekly Goals
In addition to long-term goals, set daily and weekly goals to keep yourself accountable. Each night, jot down what you want to accomplish the next dayโhomework assignments, studying, or extracurricular activities.
9๏ธโฃ Find a Study Routine That Works for You
Experiment with different study techniques and environments to figure out what helps you focus best, whether itโs quiet study sessions, group study dates, or flashcards.
๐ Seek Help When Needed
Donโt hesitate to ask for help from teachers, tutors, or classmates if youโre struggling with a subject. Learning is a collaborative process, and seeking assistance shows strength.
1๏ธโฃ1๏ธโฃ Celebrate Small Wins
Acknowledge your accomplishments, big and small. If you finish an assignment on time or score well on a test, treat yourself to something you enjoy, like a favorite snack or a fun outing.
1๏ธโฃ2๏ธโฃ Reflect and Adjust
At the end of each month or term, take a moment to reflect on what you accomplished. Assess what strategies worked and what didnโt, and adjust your goals and plans accordingly.

your competition isn't other people.
it's your procrastination, your ego, the unhealthy food you're consuming, the knowledge you neglect, the negative behavior you're nurturing and your lack of creativity.
compete against that.

๐ญ. high quality sleep ( ๐ค )
never put your sleep on the back burner, 8 hours are not even enough, the younger you are the more you need sleep, especially if you are a woman. adult women generally need to sleep 9/10 hours a night, obviously the amount of sleep needed for rest depends from person to person, but always try to have a good, consistent sleep at night. if you ever think about sacrificing your sleep to study and/or procrastinate, know that you're only hurting yourself in the long run. without adequate rest, you will not be able to function properly and perform at your best the next day.
๐ฎ. eat nutritious meals ( ๐ )
when was the last time you ate a nutritious, warm, homemade meal, honey? you should eat at least (AT LEAST) 3 times a day a real, cooked, warm meal that provide you with the proteins, fats and sugars your body needs to function normally. throw away packaged and over-processed snacks, they don't meet your energy needs and are simply full of empty calories that will make you feel sick and don't help your beautiful brain to function. eat lots of protein, which helps you build the muscle mass that keeps you healthy (i'll post about that) and healthy fats which keep your beautiful brain working โ the brain is mostly made up of fats so don't be afraid of them! the important thing is to eat healthy fats that are good for our body.
๐ฏ. less is more ( ๐งฉ )
do less to achieve more. if you've ever made an absolutely unrealistic to-do list, raise your hand. overwhelmed by a thousand things to do we will never be able to make consistent progress in an area that interests us. it is not possible to do everything all the time and do it well, inevitably our energy runs out, our level of attention drops and we end up doing a little bit of everything badly. not all tasks can have priority, choose what to focus on and stick with it.
๐ฐ. be gentle with yourself ( ๐พ )
you're really giving it your all, why be so hard on yourself? the things you have done, the goals you have achieved, you should be proud of yourself and smile about it. demanding too much from your body will not lead to anything except burnout, remember that you are a person and not a machine, that you are not made to make every single hour of your day productive, and that it is okay to rest, because only thanks to rest you can face your day with the necessary energy.
One Step at a Time: You'll Get There
Shaina Tranquilino
November 24, 2023
Life is a journey filled with ups and downs, successes and failures. Sometimes, it can feel overwhelming when we look at the big picture or set ambitious goals for ourselves. However, it's important to remember that progress is made one step at a time. Each small step forward brings us closer to our destination, allowing us to achieve what may have seemed impossible initially. In this blog post, we will explore the power of taking things one step at a time and how it helps us reach our goals.
Breaking down your goal: One of the most effective strategies for achieving any goal is breaking it down into smaller, manageable steps. By doing so, you create a clear roadmap that allows you to focus on each task individually rather than feeling overwhelmed by the whole project. Whether you're aiming for personal growth, career advancement, or learning a new skill, dividing your objective into smaller milestones enables you to make steady progress in an organized manner.
Building momentum: When we take small steps consistently towards our goal, we build momentum over time. Each completed task acts as fuel for motivation and propels us further along our journey. As the snowball effect takes hold, accomplishing one step encourages us to tackle the next with increased confidence and determination. Momentum becomes a powerful force that propels us forward even during challenging times.
Celebrating achievements: Celebrating even the smallest victories along the way is crucial for maintaining motivation and enthusiasm throughout our journey. Recognize and reward yourself whenever you complete a step or milestone โ this could be treating yourself to something special or simply acknowledging your accomplishment internally. These moments of celebration become significant reminders of how far you've come and reinforce your belief in your ability to reach the ultimate goal.
Embracing patience: Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither are most worthwhile achievements! It's essential to remember that progress takes time. Patience is the key to remaining committed and resilient when faced with setbacks or slow progress. By focusing on one step at a time, you can avoid becoming overwhelmed by how far you still have to go and instead concentrate on the present moment.
Learning from setbacks: Setbacks are an inevitable part of any journey, but they do not define us unless we let them. When obstacles arise, view them as opportunities for growth and learning rather than reasons to give up. Analyze what went wrong, make necessary adjustments, and then continue moving forward. Remember that even in failure, there are valuable lessons that will ultimately contribute to your success.
The path towards achieving our goals may be long and challenging, but taking it one step at a time allows us to stay focused, motivated, and confident throughout the process. Embrace each small victory along the way, learn from setbacks, and trust in the power of consistent effort. Remember that success is not achieved overnight but through perseverance and a commitment to progress. So keep taking those steps forward โ you'll get there!
Don't Give Up on Your New Year's Resolutions โ Keep Pushing Forward!
Shaina Tranquilino
January 24, 2024
Every year, as the clock strikes midnight and we bid farewell to the old year, millions of people around the world enthusiastically embrace the idea of making New Year's resolutions. These resolutions often revolve around self-improvement, whether it be losing weight, quitting bad habits, or pursuing personal goals. However, statistics show that by now, many individuals have already abandoned their resolutions. But don't lose hope! In this blog post, we'll explore why people tend to drop their resolutions and provide you with some valuable tips to help you stay motivated and committed throughout the year.
1. Reflect on your initial motivation: When we first set our New Year's resolutions, there is usually a strong sense of determination and excitement driving us forward. Unfortunately, as time progresses, these feelings tend to fade away. To combat this decline in motivation, take a moment to reflect on why you initially made those resolutions. Remind yourself of the positive changes you were hoping to achieve and how they would enhance your life. This reflection can reignite your passion and remind you of what truly matters.
2. Set realistic expectations: One common reason for abandoning resolutions is setting unrealistic goals from the start. It's important to remember that change takes time and effort. Break down your resolution into smaller, achievable milestones that act as stepping stones towards your ultimate goal. Celebrate each milestone reached; this will keep you motivated and encouraged along the way.
3. Find an accountability partner: Sharing your resolution with someone else can significantly boost your chances of success. By finding an accountability partnerโa friend, family member, or colleague who shares similar aspirationsโyou create a support system where both parties hold each other accountable for staying on track. Regular check-ins can serve as reminders and encouragement during challenging times.
4. Embrace setbacks as learning opportunities: Life is unpredictable, and setbacks are bound to happen. Rather than viewing them as failures, consider these moments as valuable learning opportunities. Identify the reasons behind your setbacks and use them to adjust your approach moving forward. Remember that resilience and perseverance are key to achieving lasting change.
5. Celebrate small victories: Often, people become fixated on the end result of their resolutions, neglecting the progress they have made along the way. Celebrate each small victoryโno matter how insignificant it may seemโas it signifies progress towards your ultimate goal. Rewarding yourself for milestones achieved will create a positive reinforcement loop, motivating you to keep going.
As we enter a new phase of the year, it's common for people to drop their New Year's resolutions due to various factors such as loss of motivation or setting unrealistic expectations. However, by reflecting on your initial motivation, setting achievable goals, finding an accountability partner, embracing setbacks as learning opportunities, and celebrating small victories, you can break free from this pattern! Don't give up on your resolutions; instead, keep pushing forward with determination and resilience. Remember that true change takes time, but the rewards will be worth the effort in the end!
One Step at a Time: The Power of Incremental Progress Shaina Tranquilino February 19, 2024
Life is a journey filled with challenges, dreams, and aspirations. Whether you're pursuing personal growth, professional success, or a significant life change, the path ahead can seem daunting. In those moments of uncertainty, it's crucial to remember a timeless piece of advice: take one step at a time. This simple mantra encapsulates the power of incremental progress, emphasizing the importance of small, consistent actions on the road to achieving your goals.
The Power of Small Steps:
Builds Momentum: Every big achievement begins with a single step. Taking that first step sets a series of events in motion, creating a sense of momentum that propels you forward. Think of it as a snowball effect โ as you gather small wins, your confidence and motivation grow, making it easier to tackle more significant challenges.
Reduces Overwhelm: Ambitious goals can be overwhelming, leading to procrastination or feelings of inadequacy. Breaking them down into smaller, more manageable tasks makes the journey seem less intimidating. Instead of focusing on the entire mountain to climb, concentrate on the next step. This approach minimizes stress and allows you to channel your energy effectively.
Fosters Consistency: Consistency is key to success. Small, consistent efforts over time often yield better results than sporadic bursts of intense activity. By focusing on one step at a time, you develop a routine that becomes ingrained in your daily life. This sustained effort is more likely to lead to lasting change and achievement.
The Journey, Not the Destination:
Celebrate Progress: Acknowledge and celebrate each small victory along the way. Whether it's completing a task, reaching a milestone, or overcoming a challenge, take a moment to recognize your achievements. This positive reinforcement reinforces the idea that progress is being made, motivating you to continue on the path.
Learn and Adjust: Not every step will be perfect, and setbacks are a natural part of any journey. Instead of viewing them as failures, see them as opportunities to learn and adjust your approach. Reflect on what went well and what could be improved, then make the necessary adjustments as you move forward.
Enjoy the Process: Embrace the journey itself, as it holds valuable lessons and experiences. Life is not just about reaching the destination; it's about the growth, self-discovery, and resilience developed along the way. By savouring each step, you cultivate a positive mindset that enhances your overall well-being. In a world that often glorifies overnight success and instant gratification, the wisdom of taking one step at a time stands strong. Whether you're chasing dreams, facing challenges, or pursuing personal growth, remember that greatness is often achieved through persistent, incremental progress. By breaking down your goals into manageable steps, celebrating small victories, and staying focused on the journey, you'll discover the transformative power of one step at a time. So, take that first step โ your future self will thank you for it.
