I don’t want to make people mad with my existence, I don’t want to challenge right-wing ideals just being myself, I don’t want to counterculture or revolutionary, I just want to exist not having to know that a considerable amount of people want me dead and think of me as inherently sinful or dirty. I don’t want to have to wake up every day and realize people who hate me are all around me and I interact with them nearly every day.

Fascists take everything from queer people- our safety, our dignity, our freedoms, our community- and they don’t even let us mourn. They take our grief as a sign of weakness and proof that we are less than human and not deserving of that freedom and that safety. They cut us and don’t let us bleed. They cut us and use our blood as proof we deserve to be cut.

Honestly it doesn’t matter what “causes” homosexuality. If it’s caused by being molested as a child or if it’s caused by a thunderstorm on your third birthday, what difference does it make? We still treat gay people with respect. We still try to stop child molestation. We still exist as gay people. Like it really doesn’t matter, at the end of the day

i don’t want to discourage ANYONE from getting help. But thinking about how literally victims of rape will be blamed or maligned no matter what. If you’re attractive it’s your fault. If you’re ugly it didn’t happen. If you’re a gay man raped by another man or a gay woman raped by another woman you obviously wanted it and we’ll laugh in your face. If you’re a gay man raped by a woman or a gay woman raped by a man it’s corrective and you were asking for it. If you’re a straight woman raped by a man or a straight man raped by a woman you wanted it too. If you’re a straight man raped by a man or a straight woman raped by a woman well you’re just a joke. Some identities make it worse but even if you’re the most privileged attractive white rich celebrity, you will be cast out and mocked. If you’re pretty, rich, privileged- it’s your fault, it wasn’t a big deal, must be soooo horrible to be desired. If you’re fat, ugly, disabled, old- it didn’t happen, or if it did, you should be glad someone wanted you. It doesn’t matter if you’re an 80 year old woman bedridden raped by her son, or a baby boy who can’t even speak raped by your uncle, or a teenage girl raped by your boyfriend’s friend, or a 30-year-old man raped by your new girlfriend. It doesn’t matter who you are, who they are, your race your wealth your age your state of mind if you were drunk on drugs sober the circumstances if you were manipulated violently forced drugged your relationship if it was your husband or a back alley stranger. Someone will find a way to blame you, someone will find a way to laugh at you.

“Those who can make you believe absurdities, can make you commit atrocities” is very true but especially harrowing when you consider just how much of the conservative worldview baseless absurdities make up. It’s become such a part of mainstream discourse that it’s so easy to forget that not only is rhetoric such as ‘gay people are groomers and dangerous around children’ and ‘there is widespread voter fraud committed by democrats and illegal immigrants’ false- it’s absurd. It’s based off absolutely no information and debunked by every actual research into the topic. And progressives of all stripes have to spend 80% of our time debunking this, instead of actually doing anything to solve actual problems.

Our snek doctor doesn't care about gender typical behaviour. He actually likes to wear lipstick now and then (blood red is his favourite). He doesn't wear it often in puplic (just because he doesn't care, unfortunately, doesn't mean the rest of Liyue doesn't care -> it could lower his reputation) but now and then he puts it on when he's alone in his private quarters or on the Pearl Galley.

Or when he sees the possibility for a nice deal trough crossdressing...

whenever ppl are discoursing and their only major point is "but then X will do bad thing to Y!!!" understand that 99% of the time, 'X' is already doing that bad thing to 'Y' and theyre just using marginalized people for fear tactics to garner support from ppl who dont have knowledge on said topic at hand.

"if we let trans women use womens bathrooms men will dress as women and assault us in the bathroom!!"

men already assault women and get away with it on a horrifically conatant basis, they dont need to pretend to be trans to do that.

"if we accept neopronouns/neogenders, therians, and other gender weirdo's people will mock us and not take us seriously!!"

they already dont take us seriously and never have, this proves furthermore that the 'gender weirdos' are a vulnerable portion of our community we have failed in aiding. solidarity not segregation.

"if we defund and abolish the police then noone will stop crime!!"

people already commit crimes and cops do a pretty bad job at stopping it when it actually needs to be stopped (murder, rape, trafficking, mega-rich tax evasion, predators, right-wing terrorists etc)

"if we accept mspec lesbians then men will think they can have sex with or date lesbians!!"

again, men already do this and have been doing it for centuries. disregarding a huge chunk of our lesbian history and present because you refuse to see past your terf-bespeckled worldview is sad and dangerous to these very real people whom are apart of our community, eternally tethered.

Straight people are so weird like you can't convince me they're not. Queer people will literally just talk about wanting rights and they'll shift the conversation to sex....

WHY DO YOU GUYS CARE SO MUCH ABOUT SEX? Like? 😭

so there's this white woman i know who sincerely believes that everyone must respect others' perspectives and opinions, no matter how violent or destructive those perspectives may be. and i want to make this clear because i cannot take it anymore and i need to vent:

being able to respect other people's opinions no matter what, even if their opinions are inherently violent, is a deeply privileged stance.

the other day, we saw a "blue lives matter flag," and i couldn't help but test the waters and say that it was hard for me not to heavily judge people like that. her response was basically sure, she gets it, but maybe they just have a very different perspective than me. this is the same white woman who presumes to know enough about family dynamics in my culture to make broad generalizations about it and expects that she will hear no rebuttal, then gets pissed when she does. this is also the same white woman who cannot reconcile in her cisgendered mind than just because a trans woman is a bad person, and just because she's had wildly different experiences as a woman than you have, doesn't mean you can misgender her and expect people to agree with you.

i am mixed race, queer, nonbinary, and have never been financially comfortable. i come from a generationally poor family, i've been looked down upon, reviled, and made to feel like a fugitive in spaces that are welcoming safe havens for others, because of people's "differing opinions."

"blue lives matter" backers, Trump supporters, Republicans in general - even white, straight Democrats and so-called progressives who would rather queer folk, Black folk and other people of color be silenced and quarantined away than have to confront their own privilege in this society make me feel unsafe. every day i hide away an essential part of me to protect myself; i spare white people's feelings, i don't stand up for myself, i stay silent, i drop arguments and feel sick to my stomach when i do, all to protect myself. i feel that if i truly spoke my mind, i would be in danger one way or the other.

so no, i can't respect other people's opinions all the time, and yes, it is a privilege to be able to do so.
