It's the start of spring break. You're a high school senior recovering from an extremely toxic best friendship you had with someone you were desperately in love with, as well as being groomed to be a violent, self-sacrificing machine by your hyper-religious football coach. But everything's cool these days, and so you're helping one of your friends set up the new LGBTQ+ student union at your school to get it ready for when everyone gets back from break. You hear a motorcycle outside. The door bursts open and in walk two of your best friends/teammates. They're actively flexing. The one who killed it at tryouts last year says they both have an offer for you. The one who kissed you at prom last year asks if you're "into adventure". You can only assume they're proposing a threesome. And then, even after they tell you that's not what they were offering, one of them compliments your body and the other one says that a three way make out would be "a cool idea". You are Ragh Barkrock.

I really wanna read an AU where Fabian belongs to the Popular Kids instead of joining the Bad Kids.

He gets accepted onto the Bloodrush Team on the first day and doesn't end up in detention with the rest of the Bad Kids. Just Fabian being in the popular group and trying to navigate these contentious high school politics, while also far more sinister things are happening, that he doesn't really know about.

Him befriending Sam Nightinggale, because somehow she is the most honest and refreshing in that group. He does not like her hanging out with Johnny Spells, that guy is so slimey (though he Does have a cool motorcycle).

Him catching that Ragh is weird around Dayne and figuring out that he's probably gay, but of course being silent about it. Coach Daybreak is also really weird. He likes to pull Dayne and Ragh aside after training to talk to them alone, even though Fabian is the Co Captain, not Ragh.

Him going along with being mean to Riz "The Ball" (it's not an endearing nickname here...) and Gorgug "The Backpack stealing Freak".

Him going to parties and Cool clique drinking events at his manor, hooking up with Hudol hottie Aelwen Abernant.

But more and more weird things happen and he doesn't understand the way things go in this "friend group": that Penelope and Sam Nightinggale where so close and suddenly one day Sam is missing and sure, Penelope seems sad but why doesn't she pursue it more? They're adventurers, why aren't they all searching for Sam?! And he constantly gets shut down by Dayne and Penelope whenever he suggests going to talk to Johnny Spells, since that guy is a creep and he was dating Sam and this whole situation just doesn't seem right!!

So he goes to confront Johnny Spells alone, but the guy is slick and evasive. And the next day at school he hears that Johnny is dead, he died in a car crash. But the tiefling Punk girl from that loser group, "Fig" is her name, or something similar, comes to school on Johnny Spell's bike.

And Penelope rants to him about how these guys have been snooping through her locker, especially that "The Ball" kid and tells him it makes her uncomfortable. That she feels unsafe that they are stalking her, and all that after Sam went missing, so to help her he of course goes to talk to them intimidate them. But when he corners The Ball one day in the school parking lot the dude has a gun on him, so that stuns him. And soon the rest of that guys freak friends show up and he leaves it be, he tries bot to think to much about this stuff, tries to concentrate on Bloodrush.

But Penelope keeps bringing new and unlikely girls into their friendgroup and then some of them go missing a few days later. He tries to live happily with the status and the booze, the parties, making out with Aelwen, but his gut tells him that something is WRONG.

One day when he is out clubbing on his own, trying to clear his head and to meet new uncomplicated people, Fabian runs into the Bad Kids at the "Black Pit" and then there's zombies and shit get's so much more complicated...

What musical songs would the Bad Kids sing at a friendly karaoke night (+ Tracker, Ragh,... (Ayda ?)) ?

I can't get the image of Fig singing "Don't lose your head" from SIX out of my head (also her singing "All You Wanna Do", but that's far less funny and much darker and more tragic).

I can imagine Fabian just belting out the most sincere ballads, like for example "On My Own" from Les Mis, and making everyone (especially Ragh) tear up. Or he would sing High School Musical.

Ragh would definetly sing "I Don't Dance" from High School Musical 2, aka. The Gayest Sports Song Ever.

Riz would probably have memorized something that is very fast with many text, maybe a rap (I can imagine the same with Adaine). Part of me just wants to see him sing songs from Spies Are Forever, like "Spy Again" or maybe Adaine singing "Pay Attention".

Kristen might sing something from The Book of Mormon (I haven't actually seen it, but from what I've read it yould fit).

I'm not sure what Gorgug would sing. Maybe "Drive" from The Lightning Thief Musical, that song has such an "I believe in you! Spring break!!"-feeling.

"Requiem" from Dear Evan Hansen fits Adaines relationship with her family/Aelwyn so well.

The ultimate Angst Factor would be someone singing "Empty Chairs and Empty Tables" from Les Mis... and I curse myself for ever having had that thought.

Anyone have some other/additional/different takes?

You know what genuinely kept me up until 1am last night about FH: Junior Year, the Bad Kids could have been facing such worse enemies if Porter actually thought about who would be best in Kipperlily’s place.

My mind goes directly to Ragh or Hargis, both very powerful kids who were in pretty bad situations. Ragh was wrapped up with the Harvest Men and in denial about his sexuality. Wait I forgot, Porter did try and mess with Ragh with his silly "Barbarian healing", would Porter have tried some shit if the Bad Kids hadn't taken Ragh on Summer break with them? I’m thankful every day the Bad Kids took him in. Hargis in turn also could have dodged a bullet by meeting the Bad Kids. Like a shy theatre nerd that struggles socially with his passion, who is a Goliath fighter no less is a recipe for (not necessarily hate-filled) but a rage-filled disaster. That beige aura really did good for him I think.

AND WHAT ABOUT YELL. Danielle would have been in so much trouble if she didn’t find the Maidens. A socially ostracised girl that can’t find a permanent adventuring party because of her beliefs and actions gets tricked into using her druidic powers to spread the rage-star powder all across Elmville. I am shaking Porter’s shoulders violently rn, BRO. A DRUID. YOU SKIPPED ON A DRUID FOR YOUR EVIL PLAN OML.

Zayn also could have been bad news if Porter got his shit together faster for a similar reason. He. Is. A. Necromancer. A necromancer. And probably one of the most vulnerable people from season 1, just one discussion with Daybreak and it’s a sealed deal but noooo. Please don’t get me wrong, I don’t want any of the students to be brainwashed or even be in the position to willingly take the rage, but man, Porter is just ridiculous.

Holy shit. And what about Zelda. A character so powerful I think that’s one of the reason Brennan played her in The Seven. Her rage is literally divine, Porter could have done something with that, made his own brand of divine rage and offered it to her and others. She was even taking personal lessons from him because her rage was too destructive for normal class.

When the hell did he come up with this plan.

I mean I know it would have been a while ago because of the whole thing with Kalina but I think my point still stands when I say, Porter, my guy, disrespectfully, you could have done so much better than Kipperlily Copperkettle.

Gorgug and Ragh were literally the only ones who shared a dream, even the actual romantic couple didn't share a dream but they did, and it never got brought up again... You mean I have to just move on from that??

I think Kristen was actually Gorgug's first kiss and we don't know if Ragh had kissed a girl before his first guy kiss with Gorgug, it was just that he was kissed at prom (I think?) but all that aside they're definitely each others first same sex kiss

Buddies who have had something that sweet between each other. Buddies where one made the other feel so safe in his identity by kissing him in public and it was OKAY and he stayed friends with him afterwards, all of it is so precious and beautiful. I may ship them romantically but their friendship is always going to win out for me

Forever a fan of Gorgug and Ragh canonically being each other's first kiss. Forever a fan of Gorgug and Ragh being very good buddies who also just happened to be each other's first kiss. More people's first kiss should be their buddies, I think it's great.

Gorgug and Ragh give soulmates and by that I mean any interpretation of that. platonic? romantic? queer platonic? All of them work, they have BIG soulmate energy

Ragh is my favourite I think, and my favourite bit overall was the crystal call between Gorgug and Zelda (the painfully real one, iykyk)
