Why is it every time Hollywood makes an animated film based on a long running game, they never get the original actors to play them; Sonic wasn't played by Roger Craig Smith, and while the I did enjoy the film, Ben Schwartz didn't exactly sound convincing sometimes. and the entire cast of Scoob! (Save Scooby) were replaced by big names who sound nothing like the originals.
Now for the Mario film, we get a casting that makes no sense; Jack Black as Bowser? Really? Seth Rogan as Donkey Kong? Can't see it. Keegan-Michael Key might be a good toad, though, I just hope he actually does the voice. But my biggest concern is Mario and Luigi; Charles Martinet has been voicing the two for nearly thirty years, perfecting the art, and while I do like Chris Pratt (and I'll be honest, I've never heard of Charlie Day), you can't just throw out the guys who have brought so much personality to our favorite characters.
The trailer alone is giving me Scooby Doo meets Riverdale vibes. Check it out if you're interested!

Sci-fi actioner based upon the best selling series of YA books by Eoin Colfer.
When his criminal mastermind father is kidnapped, 12 year old Artemis Foul (Ferdia Shaw) must secure the Aculos, a magical fairy device of immense power, in order to buy his father's freedom. Along for the ride are butler Dom (Nonso Anozie), fairy cop (Lara McDonnell) and giant dwarf Mulch Diggums (Josh Gad) who has the downright freaky ability of unhinging his jaw, digging with his mouth and shooting the dirt from his backside. Big names in small roles include Colin Farrell as Fowl Sr and Judi Dench as some kind of ancient elf commander in chief.

SCOOBY-DOO & THE CURSE OF THE 13TH GHOST (Dir: Cecilia Aranovich Hamilton, 2019).
Scooby-Doo Where are You! debuted on US TV network CBS in the late summer of 1969 and was an instant success for creators Joe Ruby and Ken Spears and producers Hanna-Barbera. This recent Warner Bros Animation effort is the continuation and conclusion of the 1985 series The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo, a short-lived series which premiered in September 1985 in which Mystery Inc teamed up with the mystical Vincent Van Ghoul in order to capture 13 ‘real’ spirits accidentally released from a magic chest by Scooby. Drawing criticism from those who accused the show of endorsing the occult, the show was cancelled before the season end and the final pesky paranormal entities were never captured.
Here we find Mystery Inc on the verge of retirement following the bungling of a recent case when the gang are contacted, via a crystal ball, by old friend and associate Vincent Van Ghoul. Van Ghoul is eager to find the 13th missing spirit and the gang are once again on a ghost hunt. This time around there is no janitor in a rubber mask as the ghosts are real! Or are they? A skeptical Velma is out to prove to the gang that 'ghoul' is not always how it appears.
