Jonathan: choked aggressively for several seconds, thrown into a cabinet, endured a blow to the head/back with a metal chair, choked briefly again then thrown into a cabinet again, thrown into a cart, head slammed onto the hard ground
Jonathan: is unconcious for like 2 seconds, gets up with just a limp, kills Tom with surgical scissors, and almost beats down a door with himself and an oxygen tank
Hopper: gets punched in the side a few times, thrown against a sliding door, punched in the back and kicked in the knee, hit in the face
Hopper (who is much bigger than Jonathan): is unconcious all night, drifting in and out, only really able to be ok again with the help of Joyce’s meds

i think the reason why we like eddie so much, why his death affected us so much, even though it was rather predictable with such shity writers, is because a lot of us see us in him. this dorky, nerdy, affectionate goofball that can`t seem to be still for a minute, who looks for some people quite intimidating, but actually he is a big softy, who adopts people under hiw wing so they won`t feel excluded. he is misunderstood by many. he spends his days either perfecting the route for the game or learning new tunes - what a menace to society! well, and selling some stuff between all it... he is the character with whom you sympathise, whom you want to succeed in the end. he is just so warm and familiar that such way of dealing with his character is such a slap in our faces. eddie, my love, you will always be famous

That they let him be called a murderer and cult leader with no one fighting back against those allegations? That max can survive several broken bones and a whole standoff with vecna but Eddie dies in vain to fulfill some heroic redemption arc that wasn't necessary? He deserved better than that. Fuck you stranger Things and the way you introduce characters just to kill them off.
