By the way, yesterday I saw a video of a grizzly bear rolling down a hill for fun. You can be happy and playful without thinking POSITIVE, folks. The animals do it all the time.

“Shy Cat Goes to a Party”
At last, I have created an animation that lasts longer than 3 seconds. Well, this one is only 20 seconds, but I’m getting better.
“Shy Cat” is an animation series that will appear bi-weekly on the tumblr landscape. It features a shy cat, who does things like meow and run away. It’s not the most complex project I’ve ever conceived, but at least it will keep y’all entertained while Cristobal animates our 20 minute short, “The Cute Brigade.” This is gonna be good honies.
So my dad posted some old pictures of our trip to Hawaii on Facebook and I just realized 10 year old me leaning on a tree wearing a bucket hat being an explorer and Milo from Atlantis wearing his granddad’s pith helmet have the “same energy” as they say.
That is to say, we both wore funny hats too big for our heads, round glasses, and went on adventures :)

as (someone who identifies as) male, my personal punching philosophy is to never even start arguments with people i cannot beat into submission without getting in trouble.
but i will say this, without getting into incriminating details
i am ready and willing to abuse that prescription if i can find a way to do so without getting caught
You mentioned using your anger, but for girls we're not really taught how to express it healthy ways like guys are. Do you have any advice or tips for healthily expressing it?
i was actually just thinking about making a post about that! (edited to add: i disagree that guys are taught to express their anger healthily right now. they’re just taught to express it.)
first, i suggest reading up on the ways women are encouraged to suppress their anger or turn it inwards, in order to recognize when you’re being pressured to do just that. then, it doesn’t hurt to look into the way men are taught to control and express their anger, in both healthy and toxic ways.
also, communities just basically don’t like people punching up, no matter who does it. it upsets the established hierarchies. lashing out against social inferiors is always easier than retaliating against social superiors, so people make any excuse to do that. this is why, for example, a man will come home angry at his boss and beat his wife, then the wife lashes out at her kid, then the kid kicks the family dog. or why black people peacefully protesting seem to face broader public censure than white people fucking lynching them. or why so many radical feminists seem to be too busy picking on trans women to take on cis men.
you get scolded for punching up. you get asspats, or at least a lot more leeway, to punching down. the problem with going along with this is it swaps temporary satisfaction for your growth as a person, not to mention the safety of everyone you can hurt. in secular terms, only punching people who can’t afford to punch back maintains an exploitative status quo. in theological terms, it’s immoral. in ethical terms, it’s unjust. in very basic terms, it makes you a fucking dickbag.
i have always, personally, subscribed to a really romantic ideal of chivalry, that a knight’s highest duty is to protect the people that can’t fight for themselves. more practically, honor codes have always existed to channel men’s aggression into stable and generally prosocial patterns, and are worth examining for people of any gender looking to make use of their anger.
so, this is my prescription: don’t take your anger and pass it on. don’t take your anger and swallow it. get ahold of your anger and look at who gave it to you and fucking let them have it back. this is the start of a life lived honorably. this is the start of justice.
