HOLY SHIT IT’S RAD, also here are some references like the beginning Donnie’s staff looks like a ref to both 2012 and maybe rise even , then DID YALL SEE WHEN DONNIE GETS HIS SHELL BEAT UP OMG (likely also a ref to the IDW comics) I think we’re in for some angst here yall 0-0 which is like so rare for him so yippieee and then Leo was falling which might be a ref to 2012 or even rise (he seems to keep falling off buildings lmao) and then those guys Raph was beating up were def the purp dragons and maybe the guy in the middle was Casey? Idk probs not but that would be cool asf, and then I think April dressing up as an alien might be a reference to the fact that 2012 April is part krang
Here are my guesses for each of their roles in the show and how it’s gonna play out:
Mikey: probably most time with April… definitely comedic relief, storyline is more lighthearted compared to his brothers and action is rarely suspenseful mostly silly
Raph: Mostly action focused and cool asf to watch, probably expands the lore the most, specifically with the purple dragons, maybe even with Casey… 0v0
Leo: he’s terrified most of the time but surprisingly competent, likely ends up trying to run away but is forced to face his problems without his brothers and in the end it’s not a massive hurdle but instead a satisfying character ark
Donnie:he’s absolutely terrified and alone and it’s Devastating, gets the absolute shit beat out of him, ends up beating bishop’s bots in some badass way.. BUT- not without a complete breakdown and there’s gonna be so much angst with him compared to his brothers I CAN FEEL IT YALL HE LOOKS SO SAD.
April: Likely just sticks with the turtles at different times to connect their storylines and tries to unite them but unfortunately fails, she’s probably most likely to reason (or at least try) with bishop bc I got a feeling bishop might have a redemption arc (this is Just A Hunch)

A funny idea I had for a ruby gillman and tmnt mutant mayhem mashup idea, the turtles are absolutely flabbergasted she managed to lie to humans about what she is by saying simply she’s from Canada. It’d also be cool to have ruby basically show them the ropes to high school life, and for ruby and Leo to gush over Connor and April together lol. Another interesting thing would be to see splinter and Agatha talk about their feelings and history with humans and how while splinter unfortunately never got the ability to fake his way into human society and embraced being away from it, Agatha got the chance to live among them and make bonds with the people around her and her family, even if people probably would have reacted negatively to ever finding out she’s a kraken. I can bet you Sam would be geeking out over the turtles being ninjas, and I’m sure the turtles would be geeking out over Ruby’s powers lol. I can def see the turtles getting along with Ruby’s squad. Connor would skate with them, they’d probably game with trevin and bliss, Mikey and Margot are the goofballs of the groups. Actually looking back at all that it would be such a treat to see done in like an actual production. It is funny how both movies end with a prom dance as well.
Also some funny thing I noticed lmao is just some similarities between recent animated movies I’ve noticed funnily enough. Spider-verse, tmnt, and ruby gillman have prom scenes. Puss in boots, tmnt and ruby gillman (and now even paw patrol it seems lmao) have villains that turn giant. Puss, paw patrol, spider-verse, ruby gillman, and elemental (to an extent) have characters going through panic attacks or episodes (although for ember it’s more just anger issues but it’s still triggered by pressure put on her thanks to stress from her job). A lot of them to an extent have a theme of red and blue characters in them (ember and Wade, Leo and raph, ruby and Chelsea, miguel and peters suit colors ig). Elemental, spider-verse, tmnt, and ruby gillman all have the main character do something that their parents are unaware of that they probably wouldn’t want them doing. The turtles, ruby and to an extent miles all give the main villains something that made them more powerful or dangerous (the trident and the last part of super flys machine, and miles mocking spot made him get mad enough to see just how powerful he really could be). If anyone has any funny coincidental similarities between recent movies or animated movies in general please let me know. This honestly is a pretty funny and neat thing to think about.
Another thing that’d be neat as an idea, I just thought of this, Miles being jealous of the turtles and ruby for being able to be open with their parents about what they do/did. Not only that miles still has to hide his identity Bc his family will be in danger. Ruby and her mom have their powers, and the turtles don’t have to worry Bc they got a whole family of mutants who would body anyone who tried to mess with them. Something that would also be neat to see unfortunately, all of them would realistically be hunted by people to experiment on them for whatever ridiculous reasons they have.
Can we also talk about like, the fact that so many animated movies this year have interracial or inter-species couples/crushes like that’s actually neat to think about (spider-verse, ruby gillman, tmntmm, elemental, nimona). I still need to watch nimona tbh. Not only that but again I do like that more animated movies are having lgbt rep or support in them since all of these do (even tho it’d be nice if more of them were a bit less subtle but it is what it is).

Reasons, here we go
-Donnie gets to do a lot of shit in this movie, unlike almost every other one there is. (Rise gets to be an exception, rise is awesome.)
-the amount of pop culture references
-the teens actually being teens
- ✨found family✨
-splinter trying his hardest to be a good dad and supporting his kids despite his hatred for humans
-Leo and April aren’t cringe and uncomfortable like with 2012 apriltello
-Raph isn’t a massive dick and just wants to fight things.
-Mikey being adorable
-they all love eachother despite being the only people they really knew for years.
-the boys trying their best to comfort Donnie during the TCRI scene, despite not knowing the words to the song.
-the humans being bros in the final act of the movie :)
