Top 10 Favorite Young Justice Characters

10. Jaime Reyes/Blue Beetle
Starting off the list is Blue Beetle. Young Justice introduced me to him, and I was hooked. Heās probably the most mellow and calming voice. His arc and relationship with Bart (friendship or not) were my favorite aspects of S2. They bounced off each other in every scene. I was very disappointed when Jaime and Bart were sidelined so much, and hope S4 changes this (particularly with Bart).
Jaime in the number 10 spot since he doesnāt really have much of a memorable personality. Still love him to bits though.

Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā 9. Will Harper/Red Arrow
Funny enough, I did not like Will. He was an asshole in S1; S2 kind of changed my mind about him but not enough since he didnāt appear as much. What really changed my mind was the episode āPrivate Securityā (S3 Ep.4). I started looking back into Willās storylines and, I have to admit, his is probably one of the best character development.
The first season had him unwillingly living a lie and betraying the people he cared for. In season 2 he was so consumed into finding the original Roy for five years, not even caring or focusing about his own life. I felt really bad for Will because he was probably going through an identity crisis and thought he couldnāt live his life without finding Arsenal. Probably felt guilty.
Seeing him living his own life and being happy with his daughter was so heartwarming. I smiled every time Will appeared in the latest season (totally ignoring the Will x Artemis fiasco), especially with Lian. Iām very proud of him.
I feel bad for putting him so low, yet I adore the next characters more.

Ā 8. Garfield Logan/Beast Boy
I have been a massive Beast Boy fan since Teen Titans so you probably can imagine how excited to see him. His origin story was unique and his brother-sister bond with Māgann was very sweet. It was pretty weird seeing how much younger Gar was than Dick, but I got used to it. I was bummed that Gar wasnāt in S2 as much; however, S3 truly made up for it.Ā
After watching Beast Boy being a great leader in S5 of Teen Titans, I wanted a leader-like and more mature version of him. Young Justice truly delivered with Gar being the leader of the Outsiders. Itās nice to see him treated with respect rather than as a joke because that was my biggest gripe with Teen Titans. Though it was weird seeing him not crack a joke at all.
Garās story with his mom was heartbreaking to see. I literally cried seeing his reaction to revisiting his trauma in S2 and S3; I just wanted to hug and tell him how awesome he is. My only complaint with Gar in S3 was that the Outsiders werenāt established until near the end of the season.
His voice actor being Greg Cipes also gives him extra points (Heās a chill guy and radiates BB energy).

Ā 7. Dick Grayson/Nightwing/ Robin IĀ
Sorry to all the hardcore Nightwing fans.
I love Dick (donāt get any ideas), but he doesnāt get enough development in the spotlight. One of the things I really wanted to see from him is his growth as a main leader, and his journey to becoming Nightwing. I was really bummed when these happened between the first two seasons.
To be honest, I donāt have as much to say about him other than straightforward qualities I enjoy about him.
1.His Voice (itās so soothing)
2.His Personality (very charismatic)
3.Very Handsome (Probably in the top 3 my most handsome YJ Men list)
I put him higher than the others since he made a lot of contribution to the story and his new words (gotta love that aster!)

6. Megan Morse/Māgann Māorzz/Miss MartianĀ
If I made this list during S1, Māgann would have probably been in my top 3 (maybe even No. 1), but S2 didnāt give her any brownie points.
I really liked S1 Miss Martian because of her kind heart, awkward girl next door personality. Her trouble fitting in the beginning reminded me of when I was going through a time in high school; seeing her having trouble as well helped me feel not so lonely. Māgann powers were (still are) my favorite since I am a big fan of mind-like powers. I would feel so powerful. Watching her identity crisis(?) arc was great too. Iāve had trouble feeling comfortable in my own skin as well as my social anxiety (Iām a mess) and I could understand how scared Megan was of her friendsā thoughts on her true form.Ā
Oh boy. Season 2 basically ruined her. Learning what she would do to enemies was terrifying to see and left me wondering what happened to Miss Martian that made her step this far. What she almost did to Superboy was almost unforgivable. You do not try to manipulate with your boyfriendās mind when you guys have an argument! Shame on you Māgann. If Superboy hadnāt forgiven you then I wouldnāt have either.
Good thing S3 somewhat redeemed her. Her kind heart was noticeable again and she refused to do that mind trick again (thank god). Very excited for the Superboy and Miss Martian wedding! Please creators, I beg of you to not skip over it. I want to cry my eyes out in happiness!

Ā 5. Kaldurāahm/Aquaman/AqualadĀ
Now weāre in the top 5 with Aqualad (*ahem* Aquaman) starting it off.
Creating Kaldur was the best decision the creators ever did. I love him with all my heart!
He added diversity to the original team and was a great leader. S1 was not his breakout season, though the second season definitely was.
Kladur played the villain so well that he deserves an automatic Oscar. I never doubted that he was with the heroes, but he didnāt disappoint. My favorite part about Aqualadās performance was when he rose from the ocean slowly like a clichĆ© villain (he made it work), and the line he said right after he ākilledā Artemis; it sent me chills. Love it!Ā
Pretty disappointed that he didnāt appear as much in S3. Very happy that he is a part of the LGBTQ+ community and is in a happy relationship. Iām a part of the community and loved that there was finally some representation in one of my favorite shows. Even so, I have to criticize how rushed and sidelined it was. I hope Kaldur and Wyyndeās relationship gets development.

Ā 4. Kon-El/Conner Kent/Superboy
Like Will, I did not like Superboy at first. Mainly angry and volatile characters were never really my cup of tea. I do understand why he was upset and felt bad for him; I just handle anger the direct opposite as him. My love for Conner started growing around the end of S1. He was very sweet towards Miss Martian (bless him for not caring about her appearance) and his anger was in control.
Season 2 pretty much switched my opinions on him and Māgann. It was awful what Māgann almost did to him. That scene with him being so sad that what she did ruined that special bond they had almost made me cry. I wanted to give him a hug. He grew so much too since I donāt think he would have handled the whole Māgann drama as well in S1. A lot of furniture wouldāve been broken.
I gotta admit something. I almost put Conner near the bottom (maybe no. 7). A comment in a poll in Amino changed my mind. I wrote a poll asking other fans who did they prefer SB or MM. At that point I said SB, though I didnāt think much of it. Someone (specifically yjfangirl) responded āSuperboy has the best development in the show.ā This had me thinking about how far SB has gone. In the beginning, Conner was an angry guy who felt alone and rejected by the person who he was meant to emulate. Now he is happier and living for himself rather than to be the next Superman. Heās getting married people! A little detail I noticed when rewatching S3 was Superboy mentioning to new characters that they werenāt obligated to be a hero because of their abilities. I adored this! The main reason why Superboy was created to be Superman if the original ever died, and another one of Luthorās puppets. But he strayed from that pressuring path and is doing his own thing. Conner doesnāt want other people to feel like he did. What an absolute pure soul.
Also, yjfangirl, first I want to say Hi (*waves*)! Then say thanks for writing that comment. It made me really think about the bigger picture with SB and my love for him as grown exponentially. You probably didnāt mean to do that, but I still want to thank you. š

Ā 3.Wally West/Kid Flash
Weāre in the elites now.
I donāt know how to explain it, I just love Wally. He makes me laugh, and his character growth was great. At first, Wally was this cocky flirt who didnāt take the hero work as seriously. That changed in āCold-hearted,ā one of my favorite episodes in the series. This was when I really started seeing more of Wally than being this dumb flirt. It was great seeing him actually caring about helping people since I believed for a long time that he wanted to be a superhero to just have powers rather than actually protect others. The regret in his eyes when he thought his impulsive behavior killed Perdita helped me see who he really was- this somewhat arrogant speedster who had a kind heart. Episodes that can make me change my perspective on characters are truly special.
I was very upset that he wasnāt in S2 a lot. I understand why since he gave up the life, but I was still bummed. Seeing him being so loving and protective towards Artemis was amazing. Spitfire is my favorite ship and I will not give up on them. All I want is a happy ending! The penultimate episode of S3 was a hint that it will happen. Watching the S2 finale was heartbreaking, I cried watching him disappear, his love for Artemis being the last things he said. Artemisā reaction did not(I just wanted to hug her).Ā
I have more to say, though Iām leaving it for another post. š

Ā 2.Bart Allen/Kid Flash II/Impulse
Picking between Bart and Wally for second place was tough. Took me a while to decide; Iāll talk about it later on.
The moment Bart made his appearance, I absolutely adored him. He is amazing and I live for his hyper, fun attitude. His arc and relationship with Jaime were my favorite aspects of S2. What can I say, their chemistry is great to see.
That scene when he was meeting the Flash family was so adorable. His excitement was infectious and spoiling his dad and auntās births was hilarious! I watch it occasionally whenever I need a good laugh or reason to smile.
Unlike most time travelers- at least the ones Iāve seen- Bart was very involved with what was going on and befriended his biggest enemy- evil and weirdly huge future Blue Beetle. He was pretty careful about disclosing very important information and took things very seriously. You never know if disclosing everything was the thing that brought the world to chaos.
What I found interesting was his choice on how to interact with everyone. He seemed pretty gloomy in the future, but decided to portray this cheerful, devil-may-care attitude to be more likable. I understood (still kind of do). I had terrible mental health issues and I pretended to be happy in front of loved ones because I thought they wouldnāt care about me anymore. Bart got some brownie points for that.
I was dissatisfied when his role was greatly reduced. I wanted the creators to go further with Bart by revealing his past and how it affected him. He was pretty much comedy relief. You couldnāt imagine how disappointed I was, especially with it involving my second favorite character. Season 4 better change that.
I know that you shouldnāt assume a characterās sexuality, yet I really hope Bart is gay. There needs to be more clear representation and Bart can be one of them. Iām also a Bluepulse and Bartuado shipper (fine with either one as long as Bartās bond with each of them stays strong).
Anyway, I mentioned that I would explain why I chose Bart for 2nd place over Wally. It mostly stems from wishful thinking. I really want S4 to have Bart as a main character since I believe the future will be strong plot point in the season. Development could surely happen such as Bart opening up more about what he went through. Let all those feelings go.
Iām going to write an article on my hopes for S4 when a release date is announced. Bart and Wally will most definitely be talked about.

We are finally near the end!
And my No. 1 favorite character isā¦

1.Artemis Crock/Tigress/Artemis
Thatās right people!
Artemis Crock, original member of the Team and daughter of villains!
She is such an inspiration to anyone who wants to go their own past without their parentsā support.
Itās hard to describe how much I love Artemis. Sheās brave, strong-willed, and a kind person. Itās crazy how great of a person she is after all the terrible things that happened to her. I look up to her because I donāt have a healthy relationship with my parents (verbal and mental abuse) and there are times I donāt feel strong enough to stand on my own. I want to carry the amount of strength Artemis has as my own.
After all that happened in S2, it was amazing to see Artemis come back to the team and train the new generation. It must have been hard to walk away from a safe, comfortable life for a chaotic, dangerous life. I admire that in everyone, but I hold more respect for Artemis since āthe lifeā ākilledā Wally. I wanted to hug her so bad.
Sheās also one of the kindest people in the show, the events in S3 being the best example. When Zatanna was crying about her dad, Artemis was there to comfort her. It was so sweet! Roy and her also took in Halo and Terra like they were a part of the family; the archer treated them like the best big sister. That rainstorm scene was heartwarming to the core.
Wouldnāt Artemis be an amazing mother? Lian and her have a strong bond like a mother and daughter; I loved it, and Lian is in good hands with Roy and Artemis. Though Jade deserves a chance to be a mother. Artemis also seemed to enjoy taking care of those kids in that S1 episode. Wally too. You guys know what Iām guys insinuating. š
Get ready for some fanfics on that someday.
My favorite Artemis-centered episode was the second to last episode of S3. I was waiting for this episode centering around Artemis missing Wally and learning to move on. It was great yet heartbreaking. Nothing bad happened. That Will and Artemis kiss never happened. Everyone makes a mistake. No matter how terrible it was.
Anyway, seeing Artemis and Wally living their lives and having a baby gave me life, even if it was fake. It was a vision of the future. I will believe this until there is confirmation that Wally will not come back.
Did anyone else cry when Artemis was so desperate to, but Wally wouldnāt let that happen (the real Wally would do that)? They are a great example of a healthy relationship with all the love and support they have for each other. I want that.
My Top 10 Favorite Ducktales Characters
ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦.

NO. 10 Hewey Duck
At number 10 is Huey!
Hewey has been my least favorite triplet for most of the series; it by no means heās a bad character or any of the sorts, Huey is more down to earth compared to other characters. Itās hard to say much about Hewey other than how heās a sweet, fun character Iām glad is around.
His development in season three was good, though the weakest of the three. Kinda half-baked and rushed, as if the creators thought, āwe have to add some Huey development since this is his season.ā With Dewey and Louieās, it felt like their respective seasons revolved around them instead of the other way around. The only episode I really think perfectly gave Huey development and at the same time move the main plot forward fluidly was the āChallenge of the Senior Junior Woodchucks!ā with the whole Huey vs. Violet rivalry. Yāknow what also sucks. Huey wasnāt even that integral to the finale. That annoys me to no end.
Now, Iām going to end this with positive notes.
What got Huey into the list was his sweet nature and how integral he is to the teamās balance. Every team needs someone who represents order and Huey is just that. Plus, his innocent love for romance is so cute. I love the episode where him and Webby were setting a date up for Fenton and Gandra.

NO. 9 Scrooge McDuck
Scrooge is probably the most interesting protagonist Iāve ever watched. Unlike most of them, heās more of an anti-hero than a pure hero like Steven Universe or Luz from Owl House.
I donāt really have much to say about him because I donāt love him as much as the characters above him. He probably has the best development- Lenaās rivaling his really well. In the beginning, Scrooge was a grumpy miser but now, thanks to the kids, his heart is softer and more open. His cheapness is annoying, but the good qualities overthrow the bad.
Scrooge most likely wouldāve been higher in the list if āThe Life & Crimes of Scrooge McDuckā didnāt happen- or at least occurred in season two instead since humility and hard work was the main theme. The writers went overboard showing the audience how bad of a person Scrooge was in the past, especially with him taking advantage of the poor villagers and leaving them in their states-without even helping them. This episode downgraded Scrooge pretty badly.

NO. 8 Donald Duck
Although on the lower half of the list, I still hold so much love and respect for this version of Donald. Heās such a massive improvement from his previous iteration. The creators made him kind and strong-willed but kept his anger issues. Though, they turned that flaw into a more comedic and positive aspect of Donald since he uses that intense anger to protect his family. Speaking of that, his relationship with the triplets is absolutely adorable. He loves and protects them like a great father, and Iām still a bit peeved that characters didnāt acknowledge that more. Instead, their relationship was sidelined and pretty much haphazardly... replaced-I donāt know if thatās the right word- with May and June.
Another thing that annoyed me was Donaldās voice treatment. The creators pretty much portrayed his speaking problem as a joke, which is terrible. I hope to goodness that children with speaking troubles donāt take those ājokesā to heart because there is nothing wrong with having a different voice. Itās also surprising how much characters mostly donāt understand him when I can seventy percent of the time. This complaint is more towards season one since that was the season where most of the jokes happened.
Anyways, I hope this Donald will start a new beginning for the next iterations of him. A nice guy who has anger issues but means well. Same with him and Daisyās relationship-another massive improvement the writers did. They are such a great couple from the episodes we got with them and this dynamic should continue.

NO. 7 Webby Vanderquack
Another character who was massively improved was the great Webby Vanderquack!
In the original series, she was a boring damsel-in-distress with no personality-pretty much like the earliest Disney princesses. The ā17 creators did such a great job molding reboot Webby into a character who can kill you with kindness or impressive fighting skills. This pink-loving queen is probably the sweetest character Iāve ever met; I just want to hug her.
I love her optimism and caring personality. She was able to change Lena for the better and not give up on her when almost everyone did. Webby is the best friend you can have.
While Iām not fully on board with the Webby finale twist, I really liked how her interest in the McDucks played some big part of the finale. Do I wish it was in different circumstances? Yes, but Iām still glad Webby got an important moment for herself. That interrogation scene was very emotional; seeing Beakley fully breakdown like she did was shocking and really set the mood of how pivotal that moment. I literally almost cried seeing Webby so heartbroken by her grandmotherās lies- this pink baby deserves all the love in the world. At least she found out the truth and gained a parental figure in her life.

NO. 6 Louie Duck
Iāve gotta admit; I did not like Louie that much at the start of the show. Greedy and selfish characters usually donāt get my love, but season two changed. A lot more depth was added to him such as his insecurities and anxieties. I struggle with these issues and it was nice to see a character show that as well. One of my favorite arcs was Louieās trouble connecting with Della; it was realistic and not rushed. While watching this season, I was often having trouble connecting with people, even old friends. Sort of having someone experiencing them alongside me made me feel less insecure and lonely.
His development was really good too, from beginning to end. At first, Louie was someone who was willing to execute every angle no matter how much it could hurt his loved ones. Yet, he grew to be a humbler person who now knows the consequences of his angles. A favorite episode of mine is āThe Richest Duck in the Worldā because of this development. Seeing Louie clean the Bombeiās shoes with Scrooge made my heart melt.
What lowered him down to number eight was season three. There were a few episodes that backtracked Louieās development like āThe Trickeningā and āThe Fight for Castle McDuckā episodes. He was a real jerk towards Huey for no reason. It frustrated me enough to affect this list. And I also prefer other characters more.

NO. 5 Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera
You canāt expect me to not put this quirky and adorable dork in the top five! Heās one of the best boys in the show. Him being voiced by the great Lin-Manuel Miranda does add some bonus points- you can tell Iām a big Hamilton fan.
Like Webby, Fenton was drastically improved. He became this sweet, scatterbrained scientist who only wants to help people. I instantly fell in love with him. And it got even better when Fenton became Gizmoduck- my second favorite DT hero. He deserved so much more screen time, especially in season 3; āBeaks in the Shellā was not a good enough episode for Fenton and his relationship with Gandra. There shouldāve been more. The finale moments he had was not satisfying enough, particularly him and DW sort of team up. It was rushed.
If a Darkwing Duck reboot takes place in the ā17 universe then Fenton must be a major character- at least show up in ten episodes a season. A Gizmoduck and Darkwing crossover is essential, and I will riot if it that doesnāt happen. And more Fandra, my fifth -maybe fourth- favorite ship.
I also had a big crush on Fenton back in season one. You canāt help but love him this sweety pie. This pretty much influenced thirty percent of his placement.

NO. 4 Launchpad McQuack
This muscular dummy is amazing! He brings a sense of comedy and light to every episode he is in. Itās infectious as h*ll!
I liked Launchpad instantly. Heās kind and wants the best for people. Optimistic characters are almost the best characters. They are great reminders of how there are still many good people in the world. Whenever Iām down and watch Ducktales, LP makes me feel a lot better with his dumb yet endearing moments. My favorite jokes are literally LP sending Beakley an invitation saying not to come and when he tried to make small talk with Gosalyn at the window; I can never stop laughing at those moments.
There are times when Launchpadās dumbness irks me, but his good qualities overthrow that. Though, I wish he wasnāt used too much as comedy relief; LP had the potential to gain more development than what he got. Iāll give an example. Learning about his family wouldāve been great to know- an appearance wouldnāt have hurt either. It couldāve opened a reason to why LP cares about Scroogeās opinion and cares about him like a dad. Maybe thereās some bitterness in LPās relationship with his dad and thatās why he doesnāt talk about his parents. Loopey not being introduced was a missed opportunity. Big brother Launchpad is all I need.
I also have a small crush on Launchpad, though mostly for his personality and voice. Heās still cute *wink.*

NO. 3 Drake Mallard
We made it to the top three! With the dashing caped crusader Darkwing Duck starting us off!
Itās funny how much I love a character whoās only appeared in like five-maybe six- episodes enough to put him in the top three. I had some trouble defining many reasons why I love him; itās this weird connection I have with DW. Heās this dorky dummy who loved a big part of his childhood enough to make it his reality, yet I love him so much.
I think what made me fall in love with him was how similar we are. Like him, I was a meek person who got pushed a few times- either physically or mentally. Those times also inspired me to grow stronger and be an inspiration for the next generation. I can be pretty clumsy too(lol). Characters I see myself in are usually really high in my love list and it shouldnāt be surprising that Drake is one of them.
His kind and genuine nature was also what drew me in. And, I just made this realization, this is the first time I donāt prefer the original iteration over the latest one. I still love ā91 Drake but heās too arrogant.
Unlike the original DW, Drake became a hero to help others- though a wish for glory played a bit of a part too. This clumsy, stuttering actor took a step to become his hero and a future one for children like him. Thatās admirable. His lovable personality also being so cute enough for me to want to give a big hug is a good addition.

NO. 2 Lena Sabrewing
Hands down Lena had the best development!
She started off as this distant loner who followed the gray area of morality. Now, Lena is a part of this loving family and her own person. A few of her episodes are my favorites, such as āFriendship Hates Magic!ā and āA Nightmare on Killmotor Hill.ā They are well-written episodes and hit me in the feels.
Like Louie and Drake, I see myself in Lena. There are times Iāve been afraid Iāll take on my familyās bad habits or turn like them. Thatās why I love āA Nightmare on Killmotor Hill!ā Watching Lena try to be good enough and feeling insecure reminded me of the dark times I usually think about. There are even times I have dreams of these issues. The creators must have been inspired by me (lol). Though, I am kind of jealous of Lena because of how great her friends are. I want friends like Webby and Violet.
Even so, I do have some issues with Lena. Her magic arc was not written as well as her previous arcs. This might be more of a personal opinion than anything, but Iām still going to say it. Lena learned to control her magic too quickly, and it was treated as more like a plot device. And a shaking one at that. For example, in āThe Split Sword of Swanstantineā Lena was able to stop time and send her and Huey into his mindscape. But, somehow, she couldnāt conjure a burst of energy to attack Steelbeak; granted, Huey mentioned that, yet Lenaās reasoning was dumb. Attacking someone with magic is way easier than doing what she did. Iām a little lenient on this since that idea lead to more Huey development, though Iām still going to critique it.
A great thing about Lena learning was her temporary outfit change. She looks absolutely amazing in light colors, which I didnāt expect, and her hair design is what I saw she would look good in. The eye shape is kind of weird.
Lenaās magic mode is in my list of cosplays.

NO. 1 Dewey Duck
Finally, number one is Dewey Duck!
Dewey has stolen my heart since the beginning. His positivity and fun nature always make me smile, even during the toughest times.
In my opinion, Dewey has the best arc/development of the triplets. His arc trying to find out what happened to his mother was what kept me watching Ducktales and helped me see why this show is so special. Many of my favorite moments are in season one, specifically ones involving Dewey. For instance, the scene in āThe Last Crash of the Sunchaser!ā where Dewey was willing to risk his life to get the last piece of paper and possibly solve what happened to Della was emotional. Hearing the desperation in his voice while pleading with Scrooge to tell him what happened hit me hard. I canāt imagine how much pain HDL have gone through not knowing what happened and thinking they arenāt allowed to ask. It would be terrible to experience.
Another moment I loved was in āThe Spear of Selene.ā It was when Dewey was hesitant to know what happened as the possibility that Della was a bad person grew more prominent. He looked so defeated admitting that realization and it reminded me of myself. There were moments when I realized that my parents were not as good as I thought. It hurt me a lot. At least sweet Dewey didnāt have to go through that. The scene when Dewey started tearing up seeing his mom in the sphere was also heartwarming. I wanted to give him the biggest hug.
Deweyās insecurities of not being good enough and to be loved is what I struggle with too. Its kind of different because I have trouble believing anyone loves me while he wants everybody to like him. Confidence is not my forte.

Listocracy: "Top 8 Most Underrated Video Games"

These are my personal top eight video games that I think more people should know about and play. Whether it was because of bad marketing, lack of interest, or weak critical reception, these game just never got the love that they deserved. I put these games in order based on how well-known the game is compared to how good it is. This is limited only to games that I have played, but if you have any of your own suggestions as to what else could or should be on this list, feel free to let me know.
8. Earthbound (SNES)

This one is so low on the list because it is slowly coming into the spotlight thanks to games like the "Super Smash Bros." series.Ā You play as Ness, a young boy with psychic powers, who sets out to save the world from being destroyed by the evil entity Giygas. It's a fun, quirky game with good comedic writing and some emotional scenes, including the stomach-turning final battle. My only problem with this game is that it can be almost unfairly hard at times, but it does feel rewarding when you finally persevere.
7. Jet Set Radio Future (X Box)

This is another one that seems to be getting more recognition through crossover games. You play as a multitude of members of a rollerblading street gang as they try to protect their turf and Japan while also avoiding being captured by the police. I'm focusing on the sequel because that's the one I've played more. It has fun gameplay, a great soundtrack, and a style all its own (or at least it was until cel shading became more popular). The original is great, too, but the sequel managed to work out some of the kinks and have better overall presentation.
6. Mischief Makers (N64)

Here's a game that was almost completely centered around one gimmick: grabbing and shaking things. Yet, it somehow works. You play as Marina, a cyborg maid, who is tasked with saving her creator, Professor Theo, from the Empire (no, not that Empire) on the strange planet of Clancer. The game isn't very long (unless you're going for 100% completion), but the unique gameplay mechanics andĀ interesting presentation keep this game fun and nice to look at. Also, some of the bosses can get pretty tough (especially if you're trying to get the Golden Gems).
5. The World Ends With You (DS)

This is probably the best game involving fashion that I've ever played. You play as Neku, a loner in Japan, who gets pulled into the mysterious "Reaper's Game" and must work with complete strangers in order to win. This game has a style and presentation that I really haven't seen in many other games (and never this wellĀ executed). The gameplay, which involves you controlling characters on both screens at the same time during battles, keeps things fast-paced and fun. The story is great and keeps you guessing to the very end, and the music is very memorable.
4. Um Jammer Lammy (PS1)

Speaking of memorable music,Ā this game has it in spades. A spin-off of the "PaRappa the Rapper" series, you play as Lammy, the shy guitarist of the band MilkCan, who must find her way through ridiculous circumstances and make it to her band's concert on time. This game is, in my opinion, the pinnacle of the "PaRappa" series. The gameplay is the same as those games, but executed much better, and there's a variety of different modes to play, including a two-player campaign. You can even unlock PaRappa himself. When playing as him, all the songs changes from their original forms into almost completely different rap-themed songs, effectively doubling the game's length. It's still extremely short, but that just means that it doesn't overstay its welcome.Ā
3. Okami (PS2 / Wii)

This game is art. You play as the Japanese sun goddess Amaterasu as she tries to restore the world as it's being destroyed by the evil spirit Orochi. This game's most notable quality is it's presentation. Everything is done in a style similar to Japanese watercolor, leading to a beautiful game. The gameplay is also great, and the Celestial Brush that you use to fight enemies and repair the world is a brilliant innovation. You also have a huge overworld to explore and tons of interesting characters to interact with. The game is somewhat easy, but it's still an experience worth having.
2. Psychonauts (X Box / PS2)

This is probably the game on the list that I've played through in its entirety the most amount of times (besides "Um Jammer Lammy", but you can beat that game in one sitting). You play as Raz, a young boy who has run away from the circus in order to join a psychic summer camp and hone his powers. This game is hilarious. The writing is sharp, and the delivery is always perfect. The characters are all individuals with their own problems and storylines. The gameplay is fun, and using all of the psychic powers at your disposal is always a blast. Entering people's minds to see what their inner workings look like is such an interesting premise, and I want to see it explored more in a sequel that may never come to fruition.
1. Brave Fencer Musashi (PS1)

This game is my childhood. You play as Musashi, a hero of legend called into a new dimension in order to help the Allucaneet Kingdom fight back against the Thirstquencher Empire. The writing is funny with just the right amount of drama and cheesiness, the characters are quirky and charming, and the gameplay is fun and fast-paced. The only reason that this isn't the number one most played game on this list is that I somehow managed to lose my copy of the game a few years ago. I recently bought a new one, and the game totally holds up after all these years. This game garnered a sequel that was released many years later, but it was nowhere near as good. Everyone should play this game, and I don't know why it isn't more popular.
Listocracy: "Top 10 Favorite 'Glee' Performances (From Season 1)"

Since yesterday's episode was kind of intense, I figured some "Glee" posts were in order. I was originally planning to do an overall series list, but, since the series isn't over, that list might change. Therefore, I decided to do only the first season, which is by far my favorite. This list is personal to me. I realize that some of these performances wouldn't crack a less subjective top 10 list, but these are the songs that I've listened to the most or that affected me the most. Also, it's important to remember that I'm rating the performances, not just the song on its own, so any dancing or acting that goes with the song is important to placement, too. Feel free to let me know of any songs that you think should be on here. Here we go.
10. You Keep Me Hangin' On (Episode 7: "Throwdown")

This isn't the best performance or the best song, but it does represent exactly what I think "Glee" should be. It's a fantasy sequence that tells us what's going on inside Quinn's sometimes enigmatic head. It starts naturally and makes sense in context. As a musical comedy, "Glee" needs to do more songs like this and fewer needless artist-themed episodes.
9. Vogue (Episode 15: "The Power of Madonna")

Everything I said in the last spot is a lie (well, not really). This is just such a fun song. The video that goes along with it is perfect, and Jane Lynch does a good job with the vocals. This pick may go against almost everything I said in the last spot, but it was just too good to resist. They even manage to stick in a bit of Sue's characteristic snark without it seeming too out of place. There's a reason Jane Lynch won an Emmy for this episode.
8. My Life Would Suck Without You (Episode 13: "Sectionals")

This one is more of a sentimental pick. The 13th episode of "Glee" is my absolute favorite by far, and this song caps it off perfectly. It all revolves around the glee kids confessing their feelings about their time together to Mr. Schue. My favorite part of the song is the fact that they perform bits and pieces of different dances from throughout the season. That's really what made this for me. I love seeing them do little callbacks to other episodes, showing how far they've come as performers and as people.
7. Run Joey Run (Episode 17: "Bad Reputation")

This gets a spot on the list because it is simply hilarious. The overacting and constant switching of the male lead make for some great sight gags, and Rachel's cheesy smile and wink at the end makes me laugh every time. The song's pretty catchy, too, but it's so much better with the video.
6. I Say a Little Prayer (Episode 2: "Showmance")

Here's a little song that tends to get overlooked. This is the first time that we ever really hear Quinn sing. I may be alone on this, but I like Quinn's voice. This is also our main introduction to Santana and Brittany. One of the better parts of the later seasons has been getting to know them better as characters. Apart from the song, though, the cheerleaders' dance has become almost memetic. It's such a simple, yet awesome, dance, and it makes me smile every time I see it.
5. Rose's Turn (Episode 18: "Laryngitis")

As anyone who read my "Guilty Pleasure TV: 'Glee'" post knows, I am a huge fan of musical theater. It always makes me happy when they do songs from musicals, and these kinds of songs usually give the leads a chance to show off their sometimes underutilized talents. This song is the perfect mixture of characterization, acting, and singing. It tells us exactly what Kurt is thinking and how he feels. Chris Colfer's performance here is superb (hence the Emmy nomination for this episode), and his vocals are amazing. This is exactly what "Glee" should always be, and it depresses me to know that scenes like this are happening less and less often.
4. Bohemian Rhapsody (Episode 22: "Journey to Regionals")

After episode 13, the 22nd episode of "Glee" is my favorite. This song showed why Vocal Adrenaline was force to be reckoned with. Great dancing and vocals combined with the flashiness that the kids from New Directions lacked made it clear that the McKinley kids were totally out of their league on this one. Vocal Adrenaline deserved that trophy. Making this song even better was how it was intercut with scenes of Quinn giving birth. The crescendos, diminuendos, and lyrics of the music matched the labor pains perfectly, and it all made for an intense and memorable performance.
3. Bust Your Windows (Episode 3: "Acafellas")

This was the exact moment where I knew I loved "Glee". Mercedes gives a great hurt performance after Kurt unknowingly breaks her heart. Amber Riley's vocals are always superb, and this is one of the songs in which it is most evident (her performance of "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going" from episode 13 just barely missed making this list). I knew this song going in, and I think I still prefer this version over the original. The dancers and fantasy sequence with the car just push it over the top.
2. One Less Bell to Answer / A House Is Not a Home (Episode 16: "Home")

Here's another one that is sometimes overlooked. I love Kristin Chenoweth, and this song demonstrates why. Her vocals are great, and the harmonies with Will are perfect. Unlike some other mash-ups where the songs don't really work, it's as if these songs were made for each other. Not only do they convey the characters' feelings, they share similar themes and, when sung together, form one cohesive and amazing piece of music.
1. Don't Rain on My Parade (Episode 13: "Sectionals")

This was the clear winner for me from the beginning. I absolutely love everything about this song. I love Lea Michele's flawless vocals and acting. I love the way that Rachel pretty much pulls it out of thin air, yet performs it with confidence and gusto. It's pretty much perfect in every way. I was blown away when I first saw this, and I immediately went online and watched it about 50 more times. I love this performance, and I love (the first season of) "Glee".
