For those who don’t know, Macklemore made a song called Hind’s Hall and once it’s on streaming, all the proceeds will go to the UNRWA!! Aka UN Agency for Palestine Refugees.
So yes, I’m asking you to stream Macklemore. Not only is it for a good cause, but it shows the music industry where we stand. Also if you are a stan, now is the time to put all your stan streaming powers to work!
There is of course lots of other ways to help! I just wanted to highlight this one, because it’s a way you can raise money for free, which I think is important.
Youtube doing this while fully fucking enabling the alt right pipeline with dozens if not hundreds of racist/anti semitic grifters on their platform for well over a decade at this point is an insane double standard.

Dude Macklemore is kinda a piece of shit.
Here you have all these black artists calling someone out for glorifying traumatic realities of black Americans and reminding many non black Americans that these communities are STILL suffering
And then here comes Macklemore riding on the tails of black artists like he always has. I’m not saying wanting a ceasefire is bad- but demanding it by DIRECTLY putting down something that multiple black artists have deemed important enough to speak out about is fucking gross.
He didn’t have to bring up Kendrick and Drake, he not have to insert himself as a white man into a feud about someone glorifying black pain and he definitely didn’t have to make it out to seem unimportant compared to ‘real’ problems. He could have put out music and done a fundraiser without putting down black artists.
And the worst part is it’s just a reminder of how much people will actually listen to black voices.
You can care about multiple problems at once without putting one down
Macklemore has always been the man. Like same love is the song that got my brother to accept my sexuality and question the church. This guy is responsible for so much growth and love. And know with his vocal support of ending the genocide more people are seeing how great he is.
