Inktober day 3 - G-pen
I did a couple of simple head-shots to break in my new G-pen while watching a documentary. I had a cartridge G-pen once before, but they dry out if you don't use them every few days and I accidentally destroyed it. I hope to keep this one alive much longer.
Ely and Trispin are changelings and not to be trusted.
Inktober, day 12 - mapping pen
My cheap mapping pens remain my favourite inking tools.
Trispin's hair and nails grow extremely quickly. Never accept food from him, especially any kind of fruit. It might be safe if you saw him buy it from the school canteen and bring it straight over to you and it was never out of your sight from the moment he picked it up, but why take such risks? Just get your own lunch.
Inktober day 16 - g-pen (mostly) If anyone was wondering why the other students don't just avoid Ely and Trispin when they are so obviously bad news, the answer is glamours. I used the mapping pen for Trispin's hair, the G-pen is too fine for large areas.
Inktober day 21 - mapping pen I got really behind with these due to getting ill right before London MCM, so please bear with me while I spam you all now that I've caught up. So here's another try at Trispin with glamour.
Inktober 2014 - Day 19 : G-pen What would Ely and Trispin look like if I drew them like Poppet? I wondered. The answer was ‘pretty creepy and weird’.
Inktober 2016 - Day 1 : mapping pen What’s this? An Inktober picture posted on the same day I drew it? And I didn’t goof up the first one? Incredible! Don’t take fruit from fairies, children. Not even if they go to your school. Especially not if they haven’t even bothered to put glamours on. I’m not really prepared for Inktober this year, but I’ll do it anyway!
I ended up doing a lot of companion pieces in this year’s Inktober, so I thought I’d compile them so you can see them side-by-side. I’m pleased by how well most of them line up, since I do these in a bound sketchbook and they’re all many pages apart. Also a bonus pair from last year!
Inktober 2017 : Day 16 - gel pens
Wipe that glamour off your face Trispin, Ely isn’t impressed. I have a super-fine gel pen (0.25) that I rarely use, so I tried it for the cross-hatching on this. I like it but it’s just so scratchy! I had to pull paper fluff out of the nib several times.
Inktober 2018 : Day 19 - fountain pentel Here’s that matching picture I promised! Trispin’s glamour mostly just makes him look cleaner, but it does remove his freckles. Two supposedly-unrelated pupils with the same unnatural freckles at the same small school would probably arouse suspicion. I finally had a proper day off this month but I’m still incredibly tired. I do apologise if the quality is slipping a bit. >_<;
Here I am, frantically posting the rest of Inktober 2020 before Inktober 2021 starts!
I’ve done Inktober every year since 2013, so I was quite upset that I couldn’t finish it in 2020. I kept trying for the whole month, but I only managed a few sketches. If you squint you can see there are two dates on some of these - those are the ones that were at least sketched on the right day, the others were backfilled months later.
I’m going to try again this year, so hold your thumbs for me!
Not as tempting without the glamour.

Inktober 2022 Day 8: Dip pen
You could tell it was the weekend because I used the bottle of liquid ink. I don't dare to carry it to and from work.
