You didn’t like the feeling of running away from the boys, running away from your responsibilities with them, but you needed some time for yourself. You barely had any days off, hadn’t seen your friend since Jimin’s birthday, and now that the members started bickering, you were feeling overwhelmed. 

So when you left the dance practice room, you also left HYBE and went home. Not the new home, where the boys could easily find you, but your small apartment owned by Nolichingu. 

You texted Sejin with a heartfelt apology, telling him you weren’t feeling so well. To which the manager replied letting you know he had seen you leaving the practice room and that you did look a little pale. He praised you for getting away from the boys, knowing that if you were sick, they couldn’t catch it, so you were responsible for stepping away.

Chapter warnings: For plot reasons the Yn from this story is korean (born in Daegu), so from this chapter on there will be the occasional pictures of Yn as such! While writing (this story is a written fic, as opposed to a social media au, so the text is still the major part) I never really describe skin/eye/hair colors etc so you can picture her any way you like! But for story purposes and for the social media part of this fic, I have to use pictures, so I hope you guys don’t mind that!

On Monday morning you woke up with the incessant buzzing of your phone on the bedside table. It was a second away from falling onto the floor from how much it was sliding around with all of the notifications blowing up. 

You sat down with your heart on your throat, confused as to what in the world could be happening. When you grabbed it and unplugged the charging cable, you tried unlocking it but the notifications were so quick that you didn’t even have the time to press your finger to the screen to unlock it in the first place. 

There were a few missed calls, you could see the little icon at the top of the screen, while dozens and dozens of instagram notifications let you know that people were following you and liking your pictures and commenting on them. 

But you had no idea why.

Fast Food Reader: …. *deep  conceding sigh* fine, first to finish my closing tasks for tonight, gets me to themselves for a couple hours.

[I hear you but I look fast Food Reader just tormenting their yans]

Fast Food Reader, standing on the counter holding a mic: I will be in the break room shirtless for the rest of my break. The first to find the key to the door without breaking it down will have the opportunity to spend the rest of the night with me.

[Fast Food Reader hides in the office holding the key as they watch the chaos in the main area sitting next to the janitor]

Janitor: ...why am I allowed in here again?

Fast Food Reader: because of what this alone does to you

[Fast Food Reader holds their hand for five seconds. The janitor almost immediately starts to think about what color curtains to buy when reader moves in with them]

Janitor: right..

You were already in the meeting room when Sejin arrived, sitting next to Deji. The red haired woman was Hyeon’s right arm, the one who actually finalized all of the contracts between the playmates and clients. So she already knew your fate by the time you arrived, letting you know you had been chosen by all seven. You were half certain three of them might choose you, but got very surprised about the others. Especially since Jungkook hadn’t even met with you yesterday. 

“Your contract will be three months long, as a trial, and if all parties are still happy about it, the period will be extended.” HYBE’s lawyer explained, sitting next to Sejin and in front of you. “You will need to be exclusive, so I hope breaking contracts with other idols won’t be a problem.”

You looked at Deji. You didn’t have any idols that demanded as much attention as you could guess a seven member group would, but you still had responsibilities with them. 

“I’ll see to it.” Deji said. “It’s not really part of our policy to grant exclusivity, but we hope to be partners with HYBE for many years to come.“

Both men seemed pleased with that.

"Miss Yn will be provided with accommodation and will receive weekly pay.” the layer proceeded. “What you do with them is up to the two- well, to the eight of you, I suppose.”

[A coworker searches frantically through the ball pit as reader walks in]

Fast Food Reader: someone lose their stuff again?

Coworker: worse- something stole my wallet when I climbed in here

Fast Food Reader: Tons of quarters in here... Time to finally set a new high score on that acrade cabinet when I'm on break.
