Yesterday I Posted An Sfm Shitpost Of Me Messing Around With Marina's Model, Today I Got A Hang Of Using
yesterday i posted an sfm shitpost of me messing around with Marina's model, today i got a hang of using the program properly and attempted to recreate Marina's pose as accurately as i could from visual reference :D

this was all done without rigging as i literally cannot rig her properly without her becoming a smashed and compressed mess laying halfway through the floor lmao. also her fingers are the wrong colour for some reason... i'm probably gonna have to mess around with the lighting or something, but as a posing test, i'm really quite proud of this render :)
edit: here's the posing process!

shoutout to that one time i had a dream where my computer was having horrible crashes and then a program opened up on it that was like this super old Star Trek computer troubleshooting program that was almost like an interactive game thing. like it started out with a title screen of the Enterprise flying across the screen with the Star Trek logo and the main theme playing, and then an FMV would play of Picard, Riker and Data all standing around a glossy table in a glass space station getting a communication (likely from Worf) that the user's computer had crashed wasn't working properly, then Picard and Riker would look at each other and go "well, that doesn't sound too good, doesn't it?" "indeed it doesn't, Number One." and then they'd all turn to the viewer. the camera cut to Riker, who, with that beautiful smile of his, was like "why don't we try to figure this out?" and then it'd take you to a super retro looking troubleshooting menu that was a mix between the LCARS look and a metallic plate. the menu had Star Trek theming all over it and to the right of the menu were three detailed Megadrive styled sprites of Riker, Picard and Data (but no Geordi, which is odd considering he's one of the ships main engineers) over a black background with stars. also everything was purple for some reason. it was just. purple Star Trek.
there was also a bit where i looked up information about this old program and i found out that a variant of it appeared on very rare PS2 models and was built into the BIOs and would appear after a crash. i don't know why it was the PS2 specifically. it was probably because it looks like something that would be on there.
(also there was this other bit that happened in the dream that was really funny where, after my computer crashed again, a real life borg literally just appeared next to me and i turned to them and went "hey can you help fix my computer" and they were like "sorry i can only attach human dna to it :(". and then later Data himself appeared and tried to help fix it, but for some reason his words were really muffled and hard to hear and he eventually just phased out of existence while desperately trying to explain what was wrong with it. my computer was so busted that bro fuckin died)
hello trekkies it was Captain Picard Day a couple days ago so please have one of my absolute favourite Star Trek clips ever to exist
(this post is late because my phone was an asshole and didn't tell me it was picard day on the 16th despite the fact that i literally vividly remember setting an event to notify me on that day, pretend this was posted on the 16th i beg of you)
i love how early on in the series Star Trek TNG established that Data is fully functional and that he can, in fact, have sex. like as if they knew that was something someone was inevitably gonna ask and they just wanted to get it out of the way first thing. they literally had him bang someone and then act like a drunk idiot immediately after the pilot episode aired and i think that's so fucking funny.
early TNG establishes three main things about Data's character: Data is an Android. Data cannot feel emotions. this Android can FUCK.
hello i think schools giving students more work during the holidays and having assessments due during the holidays should either be illegal or at least regulated in some way. like i don't think that's ok. that is the student's downtime to take a break from working. that is THEIR free time to relax that schools are taking up with more and more work to do after the term is finished and done. students are already overworked and burnt out as is, and their weekends are already taken up by either more work, jobs or extracurricular stuff. school can be incredibly strenuous on the workload they churn out when the students are actually going to school. a stack of homework can take hours per night, and simple assignments can take weeks to finish. people can't just keep doing that all the time, they need a stress-free break with no obligations to rest their minds. that is the reason the holidays are there. they're not an excuse for schools to cram in more and more work because "they'll have more time", students need a break otherwise their brains are literally going to stop working properly. let them take time off ffs.
(the same goes for teachers. teachers shouldn't be made to constantly work during the holidays, they deserve a break too. everyone deserves a break.)
fun fact: Halfbrick as a company has been around since at least 2001, and they have some archives of their old website from that year as well! it holds some very obscure and interesting information about the company's history, including some lost media. some of their earliest known games that were made independently of other companies, such as Defiant, Farma Llamma and Turbelence, were either cancelled, seemingly never went past the drawing board or are lost.
something i find very amusing about this site is this blog post from the 22nd of March 2001, where they remark that the orange colour from their site has been banished. this implies that there is a much older version of the website that was coated in orange rather than this dark blue and silver, but that has since been lost to time. imagining a universe where Halfbrick never used their iconic orange colour is really weird...
![[image id]: A screenshot of a blog post from Halfbrick's old website from 2001. It's very bare and simple, only using basic HTML. It has a dark blue background. The post's title is "Website v 2.0 Is Up" and it is dated from 22/03/2001. The post's content says the following: "Halfbrick have decided it is time to update the website, and well... hmmm... here it is. For those that do not have color blindness you will be glad to see that we have banished the orange color."
