Pls I beg of you not to fight me or get mad at me but Sophie foster from kotlc just pisses me off.
Like if I'm wrong my bad I haven't read the books in a while, but like... its not even that she's boring or anything it's just.... You do kinda be ditching dex and biana. Like my fam didn't deserve that shit bro like.... dex was kinda ur first real friend but I guess he'll just never be as important as the new ppl you meet everyday😀. And like you kinda just icky me. And i get that shes a teen and she has struggles but can you at least address them? Like maybe a 'dang sorry i barely talk to you bcs i like my new love intrests better' but like she isnt that self aware and thinks that theyre fine, like girl WAKE UP. Like Dex probably has some kind of mental health problems now but NOOO thats not important. 🤫 and also Marella! I am a Marella apologist. Bcs shes hot asf. Like my girl welcomed you, my girl ate with you, my girl, saved you from some drooly motherfuckers, like and with the shit shes got at home? And her forbidden ability? Like Sophie fr went 'oh dang you have it pretty bad...' and MOVED TF ON! Like aslo while her struggles are valid they're just kinda unrealistic and I can't relate to them. Alden's "no reason to worry" thing makes it seem like he has a tendency to ignore problems/act like they don't exist, but the truth is actually the opposite. When the Council dismisses his concerns about Project Moonlark, he goes behind their back and spends 12 years searching for Sophie. He's constantly working on assignments, showing up in the middle of the night smelling like wildfires, etc.
He takes problems incredibly seriously. He just tries to downplay them for the sake of others, while trying to handle them on his own.
(That's what happens when someone is raised as the sole child of one of the most influential families in the world. He thinks that he's supposed to be capable of dealing with every problem by himself. That's also why, when he mind breaks, he doesn't tell anyone about the guilt he's feeling until it's too late.)
