So, I was just reading BEAST, and we all know how Mori isn't a pedo in that universe, right? yk, how Elise is older?
And then, it got me thinking--since Yosano's personality isn't different, and he still got Dazai into the Mafia, Mori must'e still been in the war and was boss at some point. But Elise isn't a child anymore.
(This is just a theory, I'm not a psychologist, so don't quote me on this)
I think that Mori's pedophilia developed some time during Dazai's Mafia days, due to guilt from both him and Yosano of sorts? There are already theories on how Elise is a manifestation of Mori's guilt, so u can look those up btw. Even if we deny Mori's pedo allegations, he's definitely attracted to children in some way, so I think that Elise is mostly a condition that he developed--seeing that when he got time to heal in BEAST, he's a much better person.

okay this will sound odd so let me explain,
back when i first starting assigning characters to the kny cast, the hardest to do were big families like tanjiro's and the ubuyashiki family. it was very important that whoever i chose to be kagaya would be a respected man for the hashira
i could either put mori (who looks like fyodor, which would've worked narratively because kagaya and muzan are related), put dazai (and have no idea who his wife or successor could be), or natsume
the fanwiki writes that he's a charismatic man, and we can see that in his influence of oda and fukumori's respect for him in canon. he was the mastermind behind the tripartite framework.
not just that, but haruno takes care of natsume when he's a cat! in this au, they're not romantically involved.
if natsume's kagaya, then mori could be kiriya, the next ubuyashiki head who played a major role during the final arc
elise takes kuina's role because i wanna draw a particular scene where she keeps mori in line

This collaboration is my favourite so far! Chuuya looks so badass and fancy, Kouyou is an absolute queen and somehow Odasaku looks elegant while still keeping his scruffy charm

BSD fandom please stop blaming every small thing on mori or fukuchi
Also stop watering them down
Mori isn't just a pedo and fukuchi isn't just the dude who killed Akutagawa
There's more to them, but people ignore that and it sucks
People want well made characters in bsd, and mori is in fact well made imo. He's a Mafia boss, do you expect him to be sunshine and rainbows? Fukuchi is an antagonist. He is a part of the Decay Of Angels. He's not gonna be happy little flowers either.
There are literal terrorists in bsd and people seem to love them, but they despise mori and blame stuff that he didn't even do on him???? I saw someone say he's the reason kyouka said she'd "use her charms and seduce the guards into letting their guard down" or whatever when mori wasn't in charge of her. I saw someone say he canonically SA'd characters like dazai and yosano, but I don't remember that happening??? Ever???
Trust me, I dont like mori or fukuchi either, but I'm not gonna blame them for stuff they didn't do, especially not when talking to newer bsd fans.
