I’ll dream of you
In navy blue
Like you wore on that late spring night
When the festival light
Of fireworks bright
Was reflected back by your wide eyes.
I’ll sing to you of the world as I knew it
Amid the neon boom
That pounded in my ears.
It was the same night that I knew I loved you,
Cotton candy caught in my curls
Like the woven thread
Of my fingers intertwined with yours,
When I stood close enough to you
That I thought I could hear
The navy blue neon boom
Of your heartbeat matching mine.

Happy 4th of July
Firework
I felt broken, every part of me, felt shattered and dead. But there’s this burning ember, inside of my cold heart, keeping me alive. And I’m sick and tired of everyone telling me how worthless I am. So I’m stopping it. I can’t feel anything, but not for long. I’m changing, everyday. I’m finally breaking free from this hell. Breaking out of the chains you so happily put me in. I’m changing, and you can’t see me being reborn right in front of your eyes. But I don’t care, not anymore. I’m living for me, really living. Finally becoming who I want to be, and not what you’ve made me. I’m starting over. I’m gonna let myself, Dance, Scream, Laugh, Love, Live! Because I’m a shooting star you can’t catch… A Firework you can only stare in awe at.

Fireworks
Little late but I saw some fireworks this year. I'm working on a larger piece that's gonna take a while so this is just a quick post to play around with some colors!
wishing everyone a safe 2018. remember, it’s a fresh start but it’s okay to have imperfect days. it’s all about progress, not reaching your destination in 365 days!
