Something that bothers me abt the wings of fire series is that there is no possible way for the icewings to not have animi. As long as the royal bloodline wasn't wiped out, there's no reason as to why arctic should be the last Icewing animus. The animus stuff is genetic, and the royal bloodline is probably one of the most secure bloodlines, so as long as there wasn't a coup, it should still be the same bloodline that had been breeding animi into it for generations before diamond and arctic.
Unless something else happened. But the only people with both the motive and power (that we know of) to erase animi from the bloodline entirely is diamond and darkstalker. But it would have come out if it was darkstalker as yet another tic against his character. Diamond would have the most to lose, but I 100% believe she is capable of permanently erasing the potential for future animi just to ensure the icewings would always blame nightingale.
But honestly it's probs just a plothole, just like the skywing prophecy dragnet from the book 7 prologue.
Thinking about how Blaze lost everything rn First, her mother dies, she has no time to mourn before she is thrown into a war with her own sisters who just want her dead, and she was ripped away from her brother too. Then she meets Glacier, a light in the dark, finally someone who she can lean on, a support. But she knows they could never truly be together, they are in the middle of a war and Glacier has to run her kingdom on top of that. I wonder how Blaze felt, watching Glacier send out all those armies for her. Or how Glacier felt knowing that any day Blaze could be killed by someone for the throne. Glacier watching as Blaze is attacked by her sisters, she can barely look because she wants to help her so badly but she can’t. Then Blaze lives and the war ends, everything should be fine now right? The moment Blaze gets some peace Darkstalker is set free. Her and Glacier lost contact and Blaze was staying at the stronghold at this point in time i believe. Once Darkstalker “magically disappears” Blaze probably wanted to go visit Glacier, go spend some time together (maybe a date….) but, Glacier was long dead. girlbossed too close to the sun murdered by darkstalker Blaze lost everything.

Icewings
The tribes live on quite large territories, and I think that within them there are different variations that differ in mentality and colours. Decided to start with icewings! I hope I will continue to do this. Who would you like to see next: skywings, seawings or leafwings?
I woke up in a cold sweat with the idea of an icewing with splotches that resemble ice sheets floating in arctic waters.
Silly little head canon but IceWings also go crazy if they’re away from the Ice Kingdom and in a hot environment. It would be cool seeing Fjord crazy like how Gill was. Or maybe Winter was getting there, he was already in misery while in the Rainforest and Sand Kingdom, why not make him start going crazy but he got to the Ice Kingdom before it could fully happen.
