Also! They are still in the wing au, given Barn and poor Wally in the background. Their wings and tail are able to be retracted/hidden away at a moments notice for sake of blending in and also just convenience!

I know im mainly a murder drones blog, but id like to talk about the amazing digital circus for a second. How its been growing onto me, and my thoughts about it.

(/srs trigger warning for mentions of existential terror, depression, relapsing, gender dysphoria, etc. literally just major hazard signs rn 😺😺)

Now im absolutely not saying that im gonna get hyperfixated on TADC now that murder drones is over. I dont think any shows going to top murder drones for at least a couple years. But undeniably, goose has had amazing writing for these 3 episodes.

"Why are you just NOW talking about tadc?"

I have rlly bad existential terror, which is why i personally avoid active interaction with the series/fanbase.

Now ever since i watched the pilot, ive always had a feeling that TADC had some underlying elements of mental illness, and episode 3 basically confirmed that for me. Now im not saying that the shows gonna have a big "Oh look when you love yourself anythings possible!!" or something like that. quite the opposite actually, i think this series js gonna show the rough and the gruff of mental illness. Anywho! here are some moments im trying to talk about right now are

1: Caine talking to zooble about how he might be bad at the only thing hes good at, while the world glitches out around them.

2: Kinger talking about how the best thing you can do in your life, is to love other people.

3: Zooble saying how no matter the parts they try on, theyve never found anything that makes them feel comfortable.

4: Pomnis constant existential dread throughout the series

Why do i wanna talk about these scenes in particular?

1: starting with Caines very obvious comment, i really sympathized with this one. Being told something even remotely along the lines of "your not good at something" can already be devastating. Especially when that something is your everything, the thing you wake up to do. The thing that keeps you going. When you dont have that something, it can feel like theres no point. you can feel like YOU have no point. I didn't want to get too personal on tumblr (especially on my main acc) but ive struggled with depression and existential terror for years, having something to always make me excited to do was what got me up and running, every single day. When i was told that something was pointless or i was bad at that something, it always either led me to an episode or relapsing. Having that accurately represented in media is HARD, its hard to even put into words. and goose did it with 2 lines of dialect.

2: Something thats always gotten me through, everything, was remembering nothing matters in the world besides the love i put into it. This isnt anything major like what i had to talk about with caines or the other moments, but this was something that probably would have left me feeling existential and scared without that reminder. The kinger development was real in this episode!!

3: Zooble has ALWAYS been great rep in TADC, but i really did like their B plot in this episode. Im a demigirl, demigirls are people who identify as girls but do not feel fully connected to the identity. If it's easier to understand, think of it like a mix of Female and Non Binary. Zooble HAS been confirmed as non binary, usually when a show does confirm someone's gender, its usually not a struggle we get to see them go through. We usually see them at a stage where they've already come to complete terms with their identity. Goose is ACTUALLY showing us some of zoobles daily struggles they go through. with no matter how many parts they try on, how much they change, they never feel fully comfortable. Watching this scene ACTUALLY got me emotional because ive felt this way too. No matter how much makeup i put on, or how many skirts and bows i wore, i never felt fully like a girl. And no matter how much i tried to hide my chest, or how much hair was put into a bun, i never felt fully androgynous. having a show that accurately represents that feels unreal.

4: Ever since the pilot, i knew existential dread was going to be a key aspect of this series. As a child, not knowing the term yet, i struggled with existential dread. Existential dread for those unaware of the term, is a feeling of anxiety or discomfort when thinking about lifes meaning. Now, older me, struggles with existential terror. For those unaware of that term, it is a term that refers to the cognitive and emotional experience of recognizing the inevitability of death, which is often accompanied by feelings of angst, isolation from others, and awareness of meaninglessness.

For a shorter explanation:

Existential Dread = Uneasy/Anxiety when questioned about the meaning of life

Existential Terror = Anxiety about the inevitably of death and the acceptance of meaninglessness

Existential terror and dread are NOT a package deal! you CAN have one without the other,

Though pomnis definitely on the Dread -> Terror pipeline, i do believe she hasnt showed enough fear about the inevitable for me to say she experiences both.

Regardless, this was one of the main reasons i was hyped for TADC when the pilot released, To get representation for something so big, so prominent in my everyday life i now consider apart of me to be in a INDIE ANIMATION?? let alone THE GLITCH PRODUCTIONS?? i was freaking hyped UP!

EVERY SINGLE EPISODE OF THIS SERIES HAS DONE AN EXCELLENT JOB AT SHOWCASING THIS. the rep alone was what inspired me to create this post!

I introduce Swiss Swiss army ghoul. I spent so long on this instead of sleeping. (Also no stealing like blocking my tag cause like I spent to long on this) feel free to reblog or share or whatever just don't claim as yours :)

Did some drawing tests on eyes using the characters from @therealandian's ReDeath / Search Through The Stars AU! The first one is Major Jonathan Sims of General White's rebellion, the (former) Archivist of his world and a newborn Mechanism (thanks Carmilla...)! My idea for the almost camera-like sclera comes from @trans-jon-rights's fanart of the same character, which helped really hammer home how unsettling a Mechanism would be to look at when exposed. No wonder Gunpowder Tim has glasses of some sort in most fanart variations... I plan to space out the release times between each art so I can work on more of my own characters, but for now, it seems The Eye wants more. Have fun guessing who is next~

The second of the drawing tests using the characters from @therealandian's ReDeath / Search Through The Stars AU! If you haven't guessed already, it's Elias Magnus, the (former) Head of the Magnus Institute, bringer of the apocalypse of his world ("safely" reversed), and a newborn Mechanism! There's not much that I did for Elias' eye in particular due to wanting to keep it as series accurate as possible. I did make it a bit lighter than most fanarts I've seen though because after 200 years you would think the eye would begin to sorta... fail, to some degree. I'm surprised he never had much issue with it, or that he didn't end up completely blind after being cut off from The Eye. Overall the main inspiration for skin tone etc comes from @ike9306's fanarts of Elias (usually with Donovan lolol). Also screw you Andian (/j) for making me actually like this version of Elias/Jonah! I couldn't stop laughing at his later antics post-Aldara, especially his approaches to helping readers-know-who against his original judgement. I honestly enjoy his snark and would probably befriend him if I could. You know the drill; The Eye wants more. Have fun guessing who is next~

The third of the drawing tests using the characters from @therealandian's ReDeath / Search Through The Stars AU! If you haven't guessed already, it's Martin Blackwood, long-time Mechanism, survivor of Yog-Sothoth and long-lost protector/love interest of Jonathan Sims! Thanks to Andian themselves for clearing up his eye colour for me; originally, I was going to make it brown with like a slight bluish tint in order to reflect his time in Yog-Sothoth, but then I realized it probably would have been mentioned in the fic if he had heterochromia, so I abandoned the idea. I exchanged it for an unnatural vibrancy to his eyes, which wouldn't be as noticeable to others and is still kinda not mentioned but we take creative liberties when the idea is too exciting. I honestly love Martin's characterization in the fics, it makes his more Web-like ties a bit more... there? Like don't get me wrong they are, but it feels more tangible when you throw in a few centuries or so of age and experience to strengthen them. You know the drill; The Eye wants more. Have fun guessing who is next... or more, *what* is next~

Bonus Round! Yog-Sothoth Residue Martin! I tried to capture the guttural fear that he would be inflicted with in the nightmares he has, but it's a bit hard to do so when the eyebrows can't properly join the frame lmao. The depiction of the swirl written in @therealandian's ReDeath / Search Through The Stars AU was sorta described as (from rough memory) "greenish oranges and yellowed purples" or something of that sort, but I wanted to add blue as a way to show that Martin did regain his sense of self in the aftermath, and now fights to keep that identity in a way. Sure, it's hard, and he put himself back in the Institute's clutches to do it, but he's trying and we love him for that. It was quite fun to experiment with this, kinda half tempted to chuck one of my own AUs ocs into Yog-Sothoth for funsies (I wouldn't, its a funny idea tho). Tomorrow's releases are gonna be a bit more... interesting~. Have fun guessing who is next >:3!

Get jumpscared y'all, we're back to Jon! More specifically, the Jon of @candlecoo-sideb-art's Somewhere Else (In Space) AU! I do not know why, but the idea of the Fears in the Mechanism universe is something that slightly unnerves me, but luckily, we have two resident traumatized folks to help out. I kinda went and experimented with his pupils specifically, given that candlecoo's pupil style is to make them white instead of black, which actually helps with bringing attention to the eyes oddly enough. I instead added the white pupil to his Eye power usage (and have it somewhat eclipse his iris like a cat's pupil), as it gives a sort of 'inhuman' feel against the art style I got going. That and I'm a coward who refuses to break tradition sometimes. Overall, I love the AU that they are forming and the shenanigans that could ensue excite me to no end. Maybe I just have a thing for Magnus blorbos meeting Mechanism dummies in their own space, who knows. Anyway, there will be another art from this verse a bit later on in the day, and then I'm jumping back into Redeath/Search Through the Stars to tackle a few of the ocs 👀 (if you've read it, you might know who is on the agenda).

Here we go with a bit of an experiment, utilizing the Martin of @candlecoo-sideb-art's Somewhere Else (In Space) AU!

This one was a bit tricky, since I have been deliberately avoiding giving characters glasses due to their eye profiles being the more important part of the equation. Yet, stubborness is annoying, so I tried a version with glasses and... I don't know, felt like I overdid it tbh.

The idea of Martin being the defender of the duo and hyper enhanced by the nature of The Lonely's growth was too good, I love it. Martin should be allowed to go Kill Bill and we are in no position to stop him. Would be kinda funny if he got to dual-wield powers from both The Lonely and The Slaughter... but I think that idea is a bit too logistically odd so I'll just save it for my own AU.

Anyway, now this is posted, it's back to the Redeath/Search Through the Stars to tackle a few of the ocs. If you've read the fic (please do btw), you can take a few guesses who is next :3

We're back in @therealandian's ReDeath / Search Through The Stars AU! The OC I've chosen to do for this is Donovan, resident cool guy of Aldara, father of four and husband of a certain redeemed Mechanism! Thanks to Andian themselves for clearing up a few details on eyes and just them in general, they suggested smile wrinkles and freckles and I just dove straight in! I gotta admit I struggled a bit with the wrinkles and definitely need to work on it, but for a first attempt they're okay ^^;;. Eye shape too was a bit of a doozy for me; I was trying to do one of those smiley eyes but I struggle with them if they're not... an animation rig. Donovan is probably one of the two OCs I really loved from Search Through the Stars, alongside his daughter Evan (who I would join the antics of in a heartbeat)! I love how supportive and understanding he is of the situations of Jon and Elias, and just the fact he's a good husband and father overall. If he was real, I'd so want to be his friend... and Karliah's (his wife), she's bloody cool in her own right too. Actually just let me be friends with that whole famil- I might scale back how many character arts I post in a day just due to the fact my uni schedule is rapidly picking up the pace, but rest assured, more arts (and maybe some renders) are soon to come! Our next Eye-focused art will feature a very certain Captain, so stay tuned~

Aighto, time to dive back into @candlecoo-sideb-art's Somewhere Else (In Space) AU! Stickin' to the trend, here's candelcoo's rendition of Jonny d'Ville! This one was a bit more of a push against my current skill level, as I tried to experiment with how candlecoo did their eye design; no outline on the sclera and iris, white pupil and lines for the purpose of silhouettes. I chickened out on the eyebrow coloring, though, no excuse there. Compared to the make-up of the Jonny d'Ville outfit, I think I prefer these more marker-like lines. And just... the simplicity of the design itself. It reminds me of Minecraft skins and the amount you gotta thin down the design to its core details... feels like home. That, and the thin lines for these 'lightning marks' gives more of a vein-like feel, which helps if they're meant to be scars. Thinking of targeting Craniopagus characters next, or candlecoo's Toy Soldier, for no particular reason. I'm still thinking. Sorry for missing a day of eyes; I had a bit of a wild day. The resident Eye Lady promises a swift return!~

The demons called me to action; we doing some more practice in @candlecoo-sideb-art's art style! I kinda felt bad lying in bed after drawing the Somewhere Else (In Space) AU dudes, and only doing a canon art style emulation for Jonny. It just felt like I was kinda cheating out on my own learning opportunities, and given I need to draw in a no-clear-line style for an assessment... Probs best to practice on the eyes. After posting my Martin versions, its more than likely I'll tackle Craniopagus characters, and leave candlecoo's Toy Soldier for another day. I may cave, we'll see. The resident Eye Lady makes no clear promises on swift returns, but will try!
