Even if it was Michael not Michaela, I would have been mad at how they portrayed it in the show. Having Francesca express disappointment in the kiss with John after the wedding and then the whole speechless/love at first sight shit with Michael(a) on the literal day of her wedding to John simply demeans both Francesca/John and Francesca/Michael(a)

How hard would it have been to have Francesca looking happy at the kiss and then having Michaela be the one who was speechless/love at first sight at Francesca

Jess Brownell royally fucked up with this storyline and it’s not because of the gender swapping and LGBT storyline. It’s about not respecting the source material.

John and Michael are the two young princes of a small, rainy island called Kilmartin, which is known for its music. Halloween Costume

Yes i know this is a bit to early to write about halloween but i got a idea so i wanna write about it.

If Bridgerton had a Halloween party, who would be dressed up? I have some ideas for some of the characters that exist in Bridgerton.

Eloise Bridgerton will be a witch ( she will have a witch hat and dress in dark Purple ).

Theo Sharpe will be a werewolf ( he will have a tail and a wolf ears ).

Francesca Stirling will be a Ghost lady ( she will dress in white and her face and hair will be powdered in white powder ).

lord John stirling will be dress in black so it look like he is mourns his "dead wife" who is dressed as a ghost.

Kate Bridgerton will be a vampire lady ( she will have fake fangs )

Anthony Bridgerton will be himself ( He is not really creative )

Cressida cowper will be a fabulous ragdoll ( Her dress will have many many pieces of different fabrics that have different designs on them )

Philippa finch will be a cute mouse ( she will have mouse ears and a tail )

Albion finch will be a cheese ( he will be dress in yellow )

Daphne basset will be a fairy ( she will have butterfly wings and magic wand )

Simon basset will be himself but he will have a mask on his face.

Benedict bridgerton will be a demon ( he will have bats wings and horns on the head )

Violet bridgerton will be herself ( she will maybe have a mask )

Penelope Bridgerton will be a Devil ( she will dress in red and have devils horns on her head )

Colin bridgerton will be a mummy ( he will have bandage around the upper body but not on his face )

Prudence dankworth will be a cat ( she will have cat ears and a tail )

Harry dankworth will be a dog ( he will have dogs ears and a tail )

and those were the ones I came up with that would have a costume or not.I hope you agree, but if you don't, that's okay.

I don't care if Michela and Francesca openly scissor on my screen. They will get the same love, appreciation, criticism and posts from me as the other white x black, white x Indian, skinny x chubby couple got.

Also, the genderbent of the character who is named as the biggest rake and charming is an amazing idea. Fuck you homophobes and sexists!

My thoughts on Michaela

Ok first : disclaimer, I have read the book, ok angry Michael fan ? I have read the book, I read all of them.

You can guess where my thought is going : it definitely could work.

There's just something about Francesca being startled by Michaela but quickly stuffing those feelings down. She's a married woman and she DOES love John, in some way.

And then when she need Michaela the most, she vanished. (And maybe married to have a baby with some lord for the succession ?... To think about)

Then she comes back and Francesca starts to feel things but no she can't. It's John's cousin for heaven's sake she's betraying John again, she tried to have a child with him !!!She wants children, you need a man for children.

And it's wrong she's a woman, a lady. She always followed societal rules she does NOT like women. She is different enough, she doesn't need something else.

Then there's Michaela. She always liked Francesca, from the moment she saw her.

But it's impossible, she's John's wife, her almost brother's wife.

Francesca is a good woman she likes following the rules, she wants children, she's a perfect lady. No way she is like Michaela, attracted to girls.

And getting with her isn't just betraying John, it's betraying Francesca. She's already cast away from society, she wants children and she deserves it. John would want her happy and no way is Michaela going to make this impossible.

I've also seen people being worried because John was supposed to be Francesca's first love. But he can still be, sure she has a spark for Michaela but nothing more. John and her have a connection something deep, that's going to leave a real hole in her life.

And if anything worries about sex scene you can have consensual sex even if one isn't into it (an example that strikes me is in “The day of a fallen night” which is the most interesting, on a writing level, sex scene I've read)

The only thing that really bothers me about this Michaela storyline is that it seems they’re going to use it to show that Francesca wasn’t truly in love with John… the way Violet said oh I thought love was forgetting your words and bold passion! Then she finally concluded that there are other ways to show love only for Fran to stumble over her words and have this sudden passion for Michaela? Like what was the point of my cute autistic coded couple then???

Is the John-Francesca-Michael storyline similar to the Will-Tessa-Jem storyline? Cause I would not like to go through that again.

Anyone else wanted to see Violet Bridgerton get her "Garden" tended to in season 3 onscreen or is it just me. Guess I'll have to rely on fanfiction on Ao3
