Kaeya Ragnvindr - Tumblr Posts
Of course siblings will be the reason why I'm now attached to Genshin. :')

Headcanon: The only times these two have a normal conversation without the bickering or awkwardness is when Kaeya talks about gossip.
I don't even see Diluc as someone who seeks out gossip (unless related to his darknight hero duties), but he knows about it anyway because Kaeya keeps informing him about the latest gossip in Mondstadt. That's their weird way of bonding in their somewhat neutral relationship.
Please. Sibling reconciliation quest when-
Okay, I have a random genshin take.
In ragbros reconciliation fics, I like it when no danger happens during those fics. It's just pure slice of life in Mondstadt. (Good gravy how to explain this-)
It's like, they're not in death's door during reconciliations. They're not dying, Mondstadt isn't in danger, no threats or whatsoever that finally forces them to open their eyes and admit their mistakes.
Do not get me wrong I would still read those fics and cry, lol. But there is something comforting about the idea that one day, they decided that they would finally have a proper talk about the fight in their own terms, nothing else.
Let's say for example: Diluc noticed that they are in somewhat neutral grounds for the past few weeks. The bickering and rude remarks lessened, but it leaves for a tense and awkward relationship between the two brothers.
It gives him some time to think about their past relationship and mistakes. Whether Kaeya would forgive him or not, he still wants to properly apologise for what he did to him.
(Heck, you could switch it to Kaeya instead and I would still be emotional. Lmao)
So the two just dance around on their awkward relationship for a bit until one day, one of them finally decides to talk, whether it was spontaneous or planned. Apologies were given and regrets were spilled. The two still have their emotional reconciliation together and then cue to me crying- lol.
And nothing life-threatening happens!
But that's just my opinion. I'd still read the fics involving danger and threats, I've seen a lot of good ones. But it's nice to read some good slice of life hurt/comfort exploring the ragbros relationship.
Although rare, I always love Traveler being a close friend/involved with the Ragbros in fan content, because it just sets up for angsty comparisons between their sibling relationships.
(For now, I'll write Lumine as the Traveler since she is who I play as)
The idea of Lumine being terrified of her brotherly relationship with Aether ending up like Kaeya and Diluc's has always been such angsty take. Her confidence and determination to reunite with him slightly dwindled the moment we meet Aether. For all her pleading to come back with her and make their own home, to have her brother back in her adventures, he refuses. A sign that their sibling relationship will slowly become distant over the course of the game if he keeps pushing her away, which is why she still tries reaching out for him.
And then there is Ragbros, where their relationship is already established that it became strained and distant ever since the death of their father. The very thing that Traveler fears to become. That's a common take from Ragbros fans.
Yet despite their complicated relationship, Diluc and Kaeya still have each other. They have not yet completely removed themselves from each other's lives. Kaeya still keeping the Darknight Hero's identity a secret, Diluc still allowing Kaeya to visit Dawn Winery, Kaeya still helping him with the Winery from time to time , Diluc still attempting to offer him stuff such as dinner and wine, HECK do you still want me to bring up their letters to each other while Diluc was away for 4 years?
Maybe that's what would emotionally hit Traveler. That for all their conflicts, they still have each other in their own awkward and wacky way. That's what Lumine wants. To be there for her brother. It says so much when she still continues to search for him even after learning that he joined the abyss Order.
God gravy these siblings will be the death of me. :'D
Contract 1: Winds of Change
Good morning, Agent. Your destination is Mondstadt, the land of the wind. Your targets are Venti, Kaeya Alberich, and Diluc Ragnvindr.
The bard Venti is an elusive whirlwind in Mondstadt, recently taking the nation by storm with his music and poetry. Do not be tricked by his childish demeanor: our analysts were unable to find anything on his history except that he is somehow linked to various world leaders, including the Tsaritsa of Snezhnaya. I do not doubt that while he will have a public performance at the Cathedral grounds, he could easily slip into invisibility if provoked. He will be a slippery target indeed.
Kaeya Alberich is the Cavalry Captain of the Knights of Favonius, but without his cavalry, he has fully dedicated himself to espionage. Alberich frequents bars and taverns both to drink and gather information, which he then uses to carry out Favonian raids. Among his colleagues he is a shadow and a lone wolf, often acting in gray morality at best to get the job done. Alberich is self-reliant, and dangerously so. He has proven to be more of a chameleon than his military position demands of him and has mastered social stealth and observational skills. It will be almost impossible to sneak anything past him.
Lastly, Diluc Ragnvindr is the head of the Dawn Winery, a company that owns a sizable amount of Mondstadt’s total profits including complete monopoly over its wine industry. With how much Mondstadtians love their wine, it comes as no surprise that Ragnvindr is the wealthiest and by effect most powerful man in the nation. But you won’t find him in the city. Instead, he is busy hosting a ball at the winery for the entire day, though no one knows what he does at night. He has a history of exemplary fighting skill, and though he has retired from the Knights, he still bears a Pyro Vision.
Ludi Harpastum, the most exciting event in the Mondstadt year, is in full swing—meaning that the capital city will be dense with activity. As a result, the Knights of Favonius and Fatui delegation are on high alert, turning this little city into a virtual fortress.
OPPORTUNITIES - various methods of approaching the target, these opportunities are discovered on site, often by overhearing conversations or conducting investigation and reconaissance.
Venti | A Drink to Die For: Interesting. So before Venti’s anticipated performance, he will stop by for a drinking tour of the entire festival. On second thought, the drinking tour might be the main event. Expect plenty of opportunities to pose as a server or sommelier, but act quickly: Venti is not a man of taking things slow.
Venti | Height of Fame: Have a look at these setup notes. It indicates that some hidden scaffolding has been placed to make the statue of Barbatos easy to climb. According to festival tradition, one citizen will be picked to throw a ring of flowers from the top of the statue. And if this is a popularity contest, who wouldn’t vote for the darling bard?
Venti | Curtains Closed: Hmm. Following his performance, Venti has disappeared off to the woods outside the city. The forest is dark and tangled, but there will be no eyes on you. Care to play cat and mouse, Agent?
Kaeya | Death After Noon: Alberich, for all his vigilance, is a known drunkard - quite the feat considering how many in Mondstadt vie for the title. And it just so happens that the Cat’s Tail, one of his frequent haunts, has a newly hired bartender who coincidentally looks just like you.
Kaeya | Et Tu, Brute?: It appears that Alberich does attend to his office duties from time to time. The Knights’ Headquarters are heavily guarded and difficult to infiltrate, but once inside, you have a guaranteed closed space with the target and nowhere for him to run. Posing as a knight might work, but only for a while. Alberich is quick to recognize a face.
Kaeya | A Brother Left Behind: According to this psychological report, Alberich had been suddenly estranged from his adopted brother, Diluc Ragnvindr, following their father’s death. Tensions between the two have been frosty at best, but it seems that tonight Alberich will attempt at a reconciliation just outside the Winery. I assume he intends to do this alone and unguarded.
Diluc | Beauty of the Ball: As you know, Ragnvindr is hosting a party at the winery, where only the elite of Mondstadt and beyond are invited. This is a chance to get up close and personal with the target, whether over a glass of wine or shadowing him to somewhere quiet. If you pose as a potential investor, you could do both.
Diluc | A Fine Vintage: Looking at the program, it appears that Ragnvindr will be having a private wine tasting at the winery’s cellar with the nation’s finest. The bottle in question will be a newly engineered blend of Dandelion Wine, held so closely in confidence that not even Ragnvindr knows what the bottle looks like or who will present it.
Diluc | A Shadow in the Knight: Mondstadt is brimming with urban myths, the newest of which being this ‘Darknight Hero.’ The nighttime vigilante is suspected to be highly skilled in combat, can wield fire somehow, and incredibly wealthy. Sound familiar? Ragnvindr may be at the winery for the day, but I don’t think he could resist rumors of a danger lurking within the city.
With three targets on your back, this won’t be an easy assignment, but you didn’t come here for an easy time. I will leave you to prepare. Good luck, Agent.

(He's gonna be with Baizhu, Zhongli, Venti, Itto, Thoma and Ayato. But not Kaeya. Kaeya is watching protectively from the background deciding if pegging his brother is enough of a sin for the Knights to kill you. It is not.)

I LOVE LORE AND ANALYSIS OF GENSHIN!!!!
when I played Caribert, I was pretty disappointed about the lack of impact Dain seemed to have on Kaeya, honestly. during Kaeya's hangout, he didn't mention the weird cryptic blond dude who just dropped family lore once, which I thought would have been pretty important?
but in truth, I think Dain actually had a HUGE impact on Kaeya.
we can all know that from Kaeya's personal lore and former events that Kaeya had very conflicted feelings over his duty to Khaenri'ah and his love for Mondstadt, even with his estranged relationship with Diluc (which now seems partly fixed?), but in the performance route of Kaeya's hangout, Kaeya makes his choice.
The story of Prince Qubad is a very, very thinly veiled metaphor for Khaenri'ah all throughout, and then we finally get to the end scene of the play:
Kaeya: When I departed my beloved home to fight in a foreign land, I did so to honor his (my father's) wishes and for my duty to our people. Kaeya: alas, is this fate's grand design… that I should spend the rest of my days in a foreign land, till I am laid to rest in a grave far from home? K: Must it be so…? K: my dear audience, I ask you this: do you believe in fate? if fate decreed that your life was to end in tragedy, what would you do? Traveler: I would challenge my fate, and rise above it. / I would bravely face my fate. K: then so must it be! I shall discard this intaglio, and rid myself of the shackles of fate. G: my dear prince, do you intend to betray your father, and abandon your heritage? K: fate means to send the machinations of war to every corner of the land, to fan the flames of conflict til they engulf the entire world…
K: fate would see my sword tainted with the blood of innocents, that the bright banner of my homeland might fly in every nation known to mankind. K: but I shall not bow to the will of fate. I am no pawn in heaven's plan. K: I, Kaeya Qubad, will spend the rest of my days in a foreign land, til I breathe my last in a place far from home. K: but I must walk this path, or freedom dies by my hand. goodbye, my tribe and kin. farewell, sweet land of my birth.
after a lifetime of questioning his role, Kaeya makes his choice for Mondstadt. and I think this happening after meeting Dain isn't a coincidence. (and no, not in a soulmate way or shipping way- this is Kaeya's moment of choice, not infatuation.)
after not only learning the history of his origins, Kaeya meets a Khaenri'ahn who... doesn't want to return Khaenri'ah to its glory days? who is more focused on helping others and minimizing damage than causing more for his own gain? who chose his path and has not budged since, even through loss?
Kaeya gets to see someone who is so Khaenri'ahn, so human at his core, someone who cares not for the fate and tragedy of their nation. Kaeya gets to meet someone from his homeland who tells him to leave it all behind, who tells him he should take the chance he has been given at his own life; who actively discourages the idea of Kaeya being a fated "prince" or being indebted to Khaenri'ah.
even though he never said it, I think meeting Dainsleif helped Kaeya choose his own path, which is all Dain ever truly asked of him, anyway.
good for Kaeya.
(i understand that i used "ship" tags but those are more for visibility and duo name than anything else. idm if you ship them, i just request that your tags do not turn my analysis post into a ship post, pls! :)

“Welcome home”
The things here are as they always were, perhaps it is you who’s changed?
Super late entry to ragbrosweek 2022 prompt: ‘Home’
Diluc headcannon
After giving up his vision, Diluc forgets a lot of names and can only remember a few. These names are Crepus and Kaeya, while going on a fatui murder spree, he calls himself Kaeya, for he believes it is his name only upon returning to Mondstadt does he realise that Kaeya is the name of his brother who he can remember but not well. He has a mental breakdown upon realising this. Diluc keeps the fact he called himself Kaeya on his travels a secert with only Adaline finding out He does regain his memories after his vision was returned but still will sometimes answer to Kaeya
