Y'all know that fetuses can start hearing things and registering sounds within around the second trimester? And that there is a common agreed headcanon that Hiccup is a night owl? Let's use it
Imagine: Astrid is halfway into the second trimester of her first pregnancy and gets tired very easily sleeping very early at night. Ever since the pregnancy revelation, Hiccup being Hiccup has been overprotective and concerned for her, this also includes his clinginess.
Now that the baby has started to kick and respond to its parents' words Hiccup is prone to reading the notes of his inventions (old and new) and political documents aloud at night. He also voices out his thoughts on the treaties and documents, explaining to no one in particular on why the plot of land next to the river would make for a good storehouse for future rations, or why signing a treaty with the Berserker tribe is beneficial or why adding a bolt and nut instead of hammering down a nail to this part of the invention would be a better alternative.
He had made a makeshift study next to their bed where Astrid sleeps now that she had entered the second trimester. This prompts the little bean inside Astrid to listen to all her father's rambling getting information on everything. Astrid wakes up in the middle of the night feeling thirsty when she hears her husband narrating a treaty document. Hiccup replies "Shhhhh, the baby can hear" to which the fetus kicks in response as if agreeing with its father.
This might suggest why Zephyr knows such advanced mechanical set ups and and designs traps at such a young age in the Homecoming short. Those traps are actually very advanced for someone of 5-8 year old to understand and carry out even if she did stumble upon Hiccup's old notebook where he had ideas of his own to take down dragons before the first movie.
But as family progress into the second pregnancy Hiccup has a toddler to entertain and a pregnant wife to take care of.
So imagine : all three of them cuddling by the hearth where Hiccup tells stories to Zephyr about adventures and crazy-made-up giants which he acts out always making his ladies giggle and makes the baby kick in response.
This might suggest why Nuffink is more adventurous than Zephyr. He's been introduced to it before he was born
Tl;dr : Hiccstrid babies enjoy replying to their father talking, and Hiccup was a nerd when Zephyr was born. Hiccup was a storyteller when Nuffink was born.

Side note: I know Hiccups supposed to have a beard in this time frame, but I didn’t feel like drawing one on him. (And ruin that jawline line-art??? Hell no)! So let’s just pretend he decided to shave, I’m very sure he’s capable of doing that. Also Astrid’s pregnant… um, don’t ask me why I did that it just felt right okie?
I just feel it in my bones that they would have another kid, and really… why wouldn’t they?! 😏

For me it was such a delightful to see Hiccstrid as Parents. You can see how they Look at their children, how much they Love them, Even in the Epilouge of Httyd3 were we see Them for a Short Time and in Homecoming & Snoggeltog Log. Like the whole Trilogy itself, this cute Little Family brings Me so much joy.

"...And so Toothless and I saved the egg of the Dragon King," Hiccup proudly completed his story. Zephyr and Nuffink, both lying in their mother's arms, looked at their father with wide eyes. Astrid smiled lovingly at her husband, then turned to her children. "It's bedtime, rascals." "But I want to hear another story," Zephyr begged. "That was so great." Hiccup took his daughter in his arms and put her in her bed. “Tomorrow again, my darling. Promised. But you have to sleep now.” His little daughter nodded with a tired smile. He tucked Zephyr in as she snuggled into her pillows and kissed her goodnight on her forehead. He turned to his wife, who was giving her son his little dragon stuffed animal that looked like Toothless for him to cuddle with. He massaged her shoulders and leaned his head against hers and looked with her at their youngest child, who was now also snuggling into his warm pillows, holding Toothless cuddly toy tightly to him, his eyes almost closed. “I love you,” murmured the little one. Astrid and Hiccup exchanged a smile, then looked back at Nuffink's tired face. “We love you too, baby,” Astrid said and gave her son another kiss on the forehead. “Sleep well, little warrior.” Hiccup followed suit and briefly stroked Nuffink through his shaggy blonde hair. He watched as Astrid walked over to Zephyr, a few strands of her golden hair falling over her face as she leaned down and gave her daughter a kiss, who was already deep in her dreams. “And good night to you too, sweetheart.” She noticed her husband's loving look as he stroked her son's back for the last time, then stood up and held out his hand to her. Astrid placed hers in his, looking into his emerald green eyes that she loved so much. They linked their hands together and walked towards the door together. Before closing them, they smiled at each other once more as they looked at their two wonderful children. Hiccup put his hand around his wife's waist and the two went upstairs to their shared bedroom.
Astrid loosened both of her braids so that her long hair fell in soft waves over her narrow shoulders. Through the glass of her mirror she saw Hiccup pulling his light green shirt over his bare torso. The fine contours of his thin but muscular torso disappeared beneath the green fabric. Apparently he had noticed her look, he put his arms around her waist, he gently pushed her hair to the side and pressed a kiss to her neck. As a sign that he would wait for her in bed. Astrid felt his warm hands leave her again and he lay down in bed. She smoothed down her floor-length white nightgown and ran her hand over the small curve of her stomach. For a moment she was trapped in her thoughts. "Are you okay, Hon?" Hiccup asked. Astrid sighed heavily. "Yeah, everything's ok." Hiccup patted the empty, cold side of the bed next to him, where Astrid immediately sat down. She snuggled into his side and enjoyed the gentle touch of his hand on her stomach, giving her a loving kiss on the forehead, his other hand stroking her hair. "Don't worry, we'll manage, just as we've done everything so far." Astrid laid her head on his chest and listened to his heartbeat, drawing small circles on his upper body. "I know. When do you think we should tell Zephyr and Nuffink?" Hiccup hugged her tightly and leaned his head against hers. “Whenever you’re ready.” She smiled to herself, looking at the large window. Small white snowflakes trickled down behind the velvety black sky lit by the northern lights. “Mmmmmm. Maybe tomorrow.” “Tomorrow,” Hiccup repeated. “Yes, why not?” He nodded to her in agreement. "Good, then tomorrow." They gave each other a deep kiss on the mouth before snuggling up close to each other, Hiccup's hands around her stomach, in the warmth of their large bed. “I love you,” he whispered in her ear. “I love you too,” she whispered back.

The contiontion to the First Hiccstrid married Couple Story i did.
The freshly fallen snow shimmers silvery in the light of the full moon on New Berk. Zephyr and Nuffink take advantage of this opportunity to have a snowball fight. The two children scream happily in their wild chase around their parents' house. Hiccup was throwing some logs into the fire when his wife stepped out the door, a white fur coat wrapped around her shoulders. In her hands she held a tray with sandwiches and a single salad plate filled mainly with cucumbers. His eyes slid over her beautiful appearance, the long blonde hair that fell in soft waves over her shoulders like a golden veil. Her unfathomable ocean blue eyes glowing in the glow of the flames. Right down to the little bulge in her stomach where a little baby was growing inside her. Smiling, he stood up and took the tray from his wife's hands. “May I?” Astrid rolled her eyes with a smile. "Hiccup, I'm not seriously ill, I‘m just pregnant." In response, he just gave her a quick kiss on the cheek before placing the tray on a small wooden table in front of the fireplace. “I know, Astrid. But still."The two sat down by the fire and then watched their children playing happily in the snow. "Ready to tell them the news?" Astrid nodded, then called out, "Zephyr! Nuffink! Please, both of you, come here!” The siblings immediately came running and quickly climbed onto the bench next to their parents, where they immediately cuddled up to the two of them. Astrid lovingly ran her fingers through her little daughter's hair, and Zephyr giggled under the touch of her mother's gentle fingers. "We'd like to tell you something," Astrid began, giving Hiccup a quick smile as he sat Nuffink on his lap. “And it is very important to us that you listen carefully,” he continued. The two children nodded in joyful anticipation. Hiccup placed his hand on his wife's thigh and looked at her invitingly. Astrid ran her hand over her stomach. “So dear ones, you will soon have a little sibling,” she announced. Zephyr and Nuffink exchanged a quick look. Astrid bit her bottom lip, a quick glance with her husband was enough to see that he was thinking the same thing. Had her children taken it the wrong way? Did they think they would love them less now? But Hiccup and Astrid could hardly think any further when their two children happily jumped up and hugged them. “This is the best Snoggeltog present ever,” Zephyr exclaimed, wrapping her arms over her mother’s stomach. "And don't worry mommy, I'll take good care of you and the baby," Nuffink announced proudly, fiddling clumsily with his toy sword. Hiccup stroked his son's shaggy hair. “And I will take good care of you all. A Chief protects his family.”His gaze slid from his pregnant wife to his two children, who were carefully stroking their mother's stomach. At this moment he couldn't be happier. A smile appeared on his face. “Then let’s eat to celebrate the day.” Astrid and the children didn’t need to be told twice.
After dinner the children decided to build a Dragon out of snow. Astrid was leaning on her husband's shoulder and watching her children. Hiccup's hand slowly stroked her shoulder. Lost in thought, he watched as it started to snow again. Small white flakes trickled down in the glow of the northern lights and glittered in the glow of the colorful natural spectacle. Astrid noticed his look and stroked his chest so that his eyes fell on her again. “Is everything okay?” He sighed heavily. “No, it’s not Astrid. I'm looking forward to the baby but...I'm scared...for you and the baby." "You're afraid it'll be like when Nuffink was born?" He nodded. “I almost lost you back then. I don’t want to lose you this time.” He took both of her hands in his. "Astrid, I can't imagine a world without you." She ran her hand over his cheek. “I can’t imagine a world without you either. But I promise you, everything will be okay. You will not lose me. Never!” With these words, Hiccup wrapped his arms around his wife’s body and hugged her tightly and then gave her a kiss on her temple. “I love you, Astrid. I love you."

Pregnancy Troubles - Part 1
A biting pain shot through her abdomen as Astrid was finishing the plates. She bit her lip to keep from making a pained sound. Her hand slid over her large belly; she was now at the beginning of the fifth month. “Astrid, is everything okay with you?” Astrid flinched for a brief moment, but in a matter of seconds found herself in the warm brown-green eyes of her mother Ingrid. “Yes, mother, I’m fine, just a little kick from the baby I think.”Her mother smiled gently and stroked her shoulder as she went back to the table where Valka, Eret, Grobber, Astrid's husband Hiccup, her two children and Astrid's father Magnus were sitting. Eret was just about to tell some of his stories about what it was like to live as a dragon hunter under the control of Drago Bloodfist. Astrid was just about to sit down at the table again when that breakneck pain shot through her abdomen again. She suppressed a gasp and grabbed the kitchen island for support. She caught Hiccup's eye, who seemed to have noticed her hesitation. Concern was reflected in his emerald green eyes again as she sat down next to him. He immediately reached for her hand. "What's wrong?" he whispered. “I…” Astrid was about to start when she was interrupted by Grobber’s loud yawn. “Eret, I think we should then?” His husband nodded and the two of them stood up to leave. Hiccup's mother followed suit. Zephyr and Nuffink, who had just been sitting snuggled up to their grandmother, rushed over to their parents. Hiccup took the tired Nuffink in his arms as they all went to the door to say goodbye and thank you for dinner. However, before Hiccup could walk out the door, he was stopped by his father-in-law, whose eyes were as blue as Astrid's and whose hair was also the same color as hers. He's as tall as Hiccup, but in contrast to his son-in-law, he could be compared to an ox because of his stature. Astrid's mother, on the other hand, was the complete opposite, small and petite with mousey brown hair. “Hiccup, I just wanted to say thank you again. I know I said this on your wedding day, but I couldn't have asked for a better son-in-law to take better care of my daughter." A soft smile danced across Astrid's lips as she watched her father and her husband while holding Zephyr's hand held. Her father had always had a problem with all boys who were interested in Astrid, but he immediately accepted Hiccup - or rather, immediately took him to his heart. "Thanks, Magnus, that means I fell," Hiccup smiled. Magnus patted Hiccup on the shoulder with his strong arms before walking over to Astrid.
There were only a few lights burning in the village as the little family made their way home, accompanied by a warm breeze. "So what did you want to tell me earlier?" Hiccup asked impatiently. Astrid, who had leaned her head on his shoulders, murmured: "I'll tell you when we've put the children to bed." Hiccup nodded and unlocked the front door to their House. After the two had put their children to bed, Hiccup helped his wife force herself into her nightgown. “So, Astrid, tell me,” he urged, his hand running over her bulging stomach. “I had pain in my abdomen,” she confessed to him. His eyes widened in horror and she felt him pull her closer to him. “But I’m okay now, I hope,” she assured him. “Please tell me immediately if you feel the pain again, okay?” he asked. Astrid nodded. "I will," she said, placing a loving kiss on Hiccup's cheek. “Come on now, I want to go to sleep.” A small smile played on his lips as he followed his wife into bed, where they cuddled together and fell asleep. She woke up with a start in the middle of the night, the pain in her abdomen worse than before. It burned like someone was plunging a cold knife into her warm flesh. The hair on her neck stood on, end followed by cold beads of sweat running down her temple. She gasped in agony, blackness filling the edges of her eyes. She had to wake Hiccup up. Immediately. “Hiccup, please wake up!” She barely had to wait a minute before her husband sat up in bed. He lit a candle. He stroked her arm. “Are you in pain again?” She nodded. "Good, I'll get your mother immediately." With these words he sprinted out of the room. Astrid struggled to get herself to the edge of the bed, trying to control her breathing and prevent herself from sinking into the darkness. “It’s all good, my little one, we can do it,” she whispered to her stomach. “We can do it. You can do it.” “Mommy?” Astrid spun around in shock, Zephyr and Nuffink were standing at the door. Hiccup probably accidentally woke them up when he stormed out of the house.

Pregnancy Trouble - Part 2
Her two children stood frozen in the doorway, their eyes darting around the room in alarm. “Mom, where is Dad? What’s going on?” Astrid sighed heavily and waved her children over. Zephyr took her little brother by the hand and walked with him towards their mother. A gentle smile crossed Astrid's face as she looked into her daughter's sapphire blue eyes, identical to hers but with concern reflected in them. Nuffink, her little Nuffink, hugged his sister close as he looked at his mother. “Come here,” she said, patting the blank page. Her children hopped onto the mattress next to her and each snuggled up on one side of her. She stroked both of their heads and watched reverently as they stroked her stomach with their small hands. For a moment she forgot that she was in pain, but that moment didn't last long as an unspeakably razor-sharp pain shot through her abdomen again. She gritted her teeth to suppress another pained moan. Her children weren't allowed to see how much she was suffering; she definitely didn't want to drag them along with her. Both of them were so sensitive and too small to understand what was happening to her. She didn't want to scare them. "Everything is good. Your father just went quickly to get your grandmother because I need her help for a moment.” Zephyr and Nuffink nodded. “Is there anything we can do to help you, Mom?” Zephyr asked. Astrid smiled and stroked her daughter's soft cheek. "You two, my darling, can only help me by staying here with me and just cuddling with me for a bit until your father comes back." The two nodded and cuddled even closer. Then she suddenly heard Nuffink's sniffling. "What's wrong, baby?" He rubbed his green eyes, which were sparkling with small tears. “Mommy, I’m scared for you.” She kissed his temple lovingly. “You don’t have to worry about me, Finky. I am a warrior and besides, your father is by my side and he is the bravest and most selfless man I know, he will take care of me. Everything will be okay again.” I hope, she thought. I really hope so. “Was dad always so brave?” Zephyr asked curiously. “Yes he was,” she said reverently. “When I'm fit again, I'll tell you some stories about his heroic deeds, I promise.” Zephyr and Nuffink smiled enthusiastically. With every minute that passed, Astrid felt her pain steadily increasing. Hopefully the baby was okay? She could never forgive herself if something happened to her unborn child in her womb. Astrid didn't know how much longer she could hide her grief. Hopefully Hiccup comes back soon. Then...all of a sudden she heard the front door slam open with a loud crash. Hurried footsteps sounded on the stairs and just a few moments later Hiccup appeared in the doorway with Astrid's parents. "Zephyr? Nuffink? Why are you still awake?" she heard Hiccup's voice hurrying towards her. But before either of the two children could reply, Astrid intervened. "Hiccup, darling, they were just supporting me while you were away." She gently took one of his shaking hands and squeezed it tightly. He sighed heavily, his hand slowly stopping shaking as he took the tired Nuffink in his arms and held out his hand to his daughter. "Good. Then I'll put you two night owls back to bed. “Thank you for being there for your mother while I was away,” Astrid heard him whisper. Then her father suddenly came to the edge of the bed and put a hand on his son-in-law's shoulder. “Just leave it, Hiccup. I’ll put them both to bed, you stay with Astrid,” he said gently. Hiccup handed his son to Magnus and stroked his hair lovingly as always. "Sleep well, you two." Zephyr and Nuffink gave their parents a quick wave before they went out the door with their grandfather. Hiccup knelt in front of Astrid, placed both of his hands on her stomach and leaned his forehead against hers. “How do you feel?” She moaned in pain. "Not better. On the contrary, it got worse.”

A new Life & the beat of Young Hearts - Part 2
With a skillful flick of his wrist, he turned her and then brought her back into his arms. “Come here, you.” Astrid enjoyed it when his lips lay on hers, his arms wrapped around her and her body pressed against his as much as she could with her huge belly. Her arms wrapped around his neck so he only deepened the kiss. But at that moment she felt something cold running down her leg. Astrid was shocked and her eyes widened. The baby is coming! Now! “Hiccup, the baby is coming!” Suddenly he pulled away from her again. “What did you say?” “My water broke and the baby is coming! Now!" Hiccup winces and whirls around to face his children. “Zephyr, Nuffink! Get your grandparents, quickly! Your little sibling is coming!” The two of them immediately ran towards the village. Hiccup put his arms around Astrid, who was already squinting in pain. He slammed the door to their house, with his arms wrapped tightly around her, he led her into their shared bedroom. “Take it easy, Astrid. Everything will be okay,” he gasped, full of excitement and fear at the same time. “Hiccup, calm down first, you're making me very nervous,” Astrid hissed, who had already started to go into labor. She writhed in pain in his arms as he put her on the bed and helped her undress to make the birth easier. Astrid pressed herself tightly into the pillows as another contraction hit her, her pulse racing. The blood rushing through her veins like a raging mountain river as she took Hiccup's hand and looked deep into his unfathomable jade eyes as he dabbed the sweat from her forehead. She could hear him whispering, feel his calloused hand slide over her shoulder. Then suddenly the door to the bedroom opened and Astrid's mother stormed into the room with wet towels. She immediately started preparing everything before she went to Astrid and told her: "You know what to do?" Astrid nodded and she started to push.
12 hours later: "That's it, Astrid just a little bit more and you've done it," Astrid heard her mother's voice through the roaring pain that went through her and spread to her bones. Hiccup's gentle massage on her shoulders was just an echo in the distance. Her bones protested one last time, then she listened in relief as she heard the sound of a baby crying. She wanted to sit up, to catch a glimpse of her little one, who was now lying in her mother's arms to be washed, but her joints gave way and she slid back onto Hiccup's shoulder. But Astrid didn't have to wait long when her mother returned to her with a small bundle in her arms and placed it on her chest. Ingrid smiled lovingly at her daughter and son-in-law. "Congratulations on your healthy baby girl." Astrid squeezed her mother's hand, tears of joy streaming down her cheeks. "Thank you, mother, for everything." "Yes, thank you Ingrid," Hiccup smiled, even though Astrid could see that he was having a hard time concentrating on his mother-in-law, as his eyes kept wandering to her newborn child. Ingrid said goodbye with a smile before going into the next room where her husband and grandchildren were waiting impatiently. Astrid smiled down at the little girl who was now snuggled up against her chest and looking at her and Hiccup with big blue-green eyes. Hiccup gave his wife a kiss on the temple. "I am so proud of you. So proud.” The baby winked a little as Astrid brought it to her bare breast and suckled with pleasure on her left nipple while Hiccup stroked her golden-brown head. “She still needs a name,” he mused. “What do you think of…Gertrude?” Astrid raised an eyebrow in disbelief. "Was that Tuffnut's idea?" Hiccup grinned. "Yes, he begged for the rest of the days that I would suggest that name to you when the baby was here." "And of course you gave in." Hiccup rolled his eyes, laughing. “Yes, I can hardly refuse my groomsmen anything.” “It was clear,” she laughed and leaned against his chest again. “No, I think I have a better idea. How do you like the name Linka? It means fairy or huntress and our little one somehow reminds me of an fairy, as sweet and delicate as she is." "That's actually a very nice name," Hiccup agreed. “And she really does look a little like a little fairy.”He gently stroked little Feyre's soft cheek. “Welcome to New Berk.”
After an hour of waiting, Zephyr and Nuffink finally got to meet their little sister and they were thrilled and kept asking their mother if they could hold her. Astrid quickly gave in to her children's begging and let her little sister hold her once. “Hello, Linka. I'm your big sister Zephyr and this is your big brother Nuffink." "Hello," gasped Nuffink and let the little fabric figures of Toothless and Stormfly dance with his hands above her little head. "And these are Stormfly and Toothless, they are dragons and live in a Hidden world far out in the ocean." The baby chuckled as the Stormfly stuffed animal shot past her, her little eyes widening. Astrid looked into Hiccup's eyes as he held her close as they watched their three children play. She smiled. “And has your wish now come true?” “Yes,” he said gently and pulled his wife into a deep kiss that led her heart explode in a firework of Love.

A carpet of hundreds of stars sprinkled the onyx-colored night sky over New Berk in all its silvery beauty. The village had gradually become quiet except for the Haddocks' residence where there was an after party after an extensive party in the Great Hall with the family introducing their youngest member to the people. To celebrate the evening, Astrid's father had made his famous tuna rolls with a bowl of salad, which he now served on the terrace of the house. “Who wants a roll?” he asked his son-in-law, who was sitting opposite his friends Snotlout, Fishlegs and Tuffnut. Hiccup smiled kindly at his tall father-in-law and took a roll from the tray. “Say, how do you pronounce your little one’s name again?” Snotlout asked with a raised eyebrow as he grabbed three rolls from Magnus’ tray. „Linka," Hiccup repeated for the hundred thousandth time tonight. Tuffnut grinned amusedly over at Fishlegs as he petted his chicken. “Speaking of Links, dear Mr. Ingermann still owes me ten galleons.” Fishlegs rolled his eyes in annoyance and handed Tuff the money, which he immediately counted happily. “You bet what name our baby will have?” Astrid, who was sitting next to Hiccup with her little daughter in her arms, interrupted. Ruffnut, who was playing with the fingers of her most beloved Throk, who was in the middle of a conversation with Mala and Dagur, shrugged her shoulders with a large mug of beer in her hand. “We’ve been doing it since the first one.” Astrid and Hiccup looked at each other in shock, then they could only smile. Suddenly Zephyr and Nuffink, who had just been playing with Dagur and Mala's children, came running and ran into their parents' arms, while the two of them let the little toy dragon figures slide over their little sister again. “Here comes the Flightmare,” Nuffink announced. “Look Linka, how beautifully blue he is.” “And here comes the Hideous Zippelback, he has two heads, one spews gas and the other ignites it with sparks,” Zephyr explained to her little sister while she let the figure dance in the air. From the corner of their eyes, Hiccup and Astrid saw Ruff and Tuff exchanging cheeky but sad grins. "Long live Barf and Belch." Astrid leaned on Hiccup's shoulder, watching her children interact with each other and her numerous friends chatting with each other. She enjoyed the gentle caresses Hiccup gave her back as she watched the steady movements of the flames. Still, she had the feeling that something was missing, that someone specific was missing.
After an hour the afterparty was over. Hiccup and Astrid had put Zephyr and Nuffink to bed and had retreated to their room with little Linka. Little Feyre was nuzzling her mother's nipple when Hiccup came out of the bathroom next door, his hair wet and only a towel wrapped around his waist. He put on a pair of long, loose trousers before he went to Astrid, gave her a kiss on the forehead and then took her little daughter, who had fallen asleep on her mother's bosom. He gently stroked her back while holding her to his bare chest. Astrid, who was holding his hand, looked up at him and smiled. She watched as Hiccup rocked her little daughter back and forth in his arms, constantly kissing her on her head and on her cheeks, and whispering to her. Astrid got out of bed, everything felt so perfect, but still an unfathomable emptiness spread in her heart that she hadn't felt in several years. Lost in thought, she strolled around the room, looking up at the map of the barbaric archipelago. Her fingers glided over the small wooden figures that represented Stormfly and Toothless. Stormfly. Astrid's heart became heavy at the thought that her beloved dragon could not be with her on this special day. She missed the Nadder's friendly nature so much, her playfulness, the morning flights, training together... She opened the large window to the balcony, a warm breeze ran through her hair and stirred up some strands that fell onto her face. She only noticed in passing how Hiccup put Linka in her crib before putting on a shirt. Her gaze was focused solely on the endless starry sky. She jumped for a brief moment as Hiccup put his arm around her, holding her tightly to him. "You miss her, don't you?" Astrid nodded, tears soaking her vision as she finally let them flow. Hiccup gave her a kiss on the forehead. “I know how you feel, Honey, I miss Toothless terribly too. But don't worry, they'll be fine." Astrid nodded weakly, tried to blink away the tears, but they kept coming. "It is good. Let it all out,” Hiccup whispered to her. Astrid looked out to the sea, towards the hidden world that lay hidden far out in the endless expanse of the ocean. And she wondered if she missed Stormfly as much as she missed her. She couldn't have known that Stormfly, who was flying over a lake in the hidden world with her three children, but kept glancing towards the entrance, was wondering exactly the same thing. Even though it hurt both of their hearts, they knew that they were connected to each other forever. Even if they were separated by endless miles.
Httyd Homecoming headcanon:
Fishlegs and Ruffnut getting divorced, Fishlegs marries Snotlout, Ruffnut marries Throk, Fishlegs giving the severance pay to Ruffnut and Tuffnut opens a chicken farm with chicken and a mace shop with macey. And Hiccup and Astrid, who have a strong, passionate marriage, having two beautiful children just watching all this drama like:

One of my favorite things about the Httyd-franchise is the element of Family. Be it in the show or Movies it was always done very well. The Relationship between Hiccup and his dad is definitely one of the hearts of this franchise. It was so heartwarming to see how their relationship involve in Riders/Defender/Rtte through the second movie. And it was also very touching to see how they’re Releationship was when Hiccup was still a child. How lovingly Stoick was when Hiccup was much younger, I also think this is why Hiccup is so emphatic. I think it was easier to protect Hiccup when he was much younger, as we see in the first flashback when he says that he finds Night Furies scary. Stoick always wanted the best for his son and it just got more complicate to protect him when he got older. But they’re was always love between these two and it always will, even if Stoick is no longer with him, he will always watch his son from Valhalla. He would be so proud of Hiccup, if he could witness of what an amazing Chief he became, that he has now a little family with the love of his life.
I think if Stoick was still alive in the third film, he would support Hiccups decisions as Astrid, Valka, Gobber and the other dragon riders do. They may all Not agree with Hiccup sometimes but they will always support him because he would do the same for them. They are all a Big Family.

Can we all just agree that Ben from Jurassic World/Park Franchise is the true descendant of our lovely, dorky, handsome Viking Chief who has a Goddess of a Wife and two beautiful children with her. Ben deserves the same love, Hiccstrid has. I hope he will someday find his true love and we will meet his girlfriend if it’s true that he has one.

Omg the look on Hiccups face when he sees his beautiful wife flying on Stormfly with their daughter ❣️Ten years of marriage and they still look at each other like they will fell in love all over again. That’s just true, pure love that will never die.
