If you're an author/writer, a maladaptive daydreamer, alt, a cosplayer, into DnD/Roleplay, enjoy fantastical fashion, or generally just have a love for fantasy fiction... you HAVE to attend a Renaissance Faire at least once in your life.

I'm most of the above and it was an amazing experience for me. Entirely liberating. I forgot my job, my disorders, my responsibilities. Completely tossed aside my stress for an entire day. There were freaks everywhere; unusual humans of every lovely variety. My friends and I met so many great people. Anti-facists, anarchists, goths, punks...

I'm from a small town and know next to no alternative people. The X's on my gloves, safety pins, the yellow laces on my docs- people don't understand it. There I was able to speak the lingo and made friends in the process. At one point or another I was offered alcohol by a new acquaintance. Told them I was straight edge. Instead of looking at me weird, they GOT IT. Even apologized and asked if it would be disrespectful for them to drink in front of me. I'll tell ya, punks supporting other punks... nothing better.

It was like coming home.

I get to work and spend every weekend at my favorite place in the whole world! 💚 this is one of my many costumes I have put together my states Renaissance festival.

Worked pretty hard over the week to make more spells done to hand out at the lest weekend of faire! I have adults, kids and some for both! I'll miss this till next year. 💔

Idk if I’ll wear it to the fair I literally always go as a pirate I just dress like a fairy to school normally so it’s ✨for life ✨

I am not ashamed to admit that this would be 100% unironically be me 😂

Am I still in act one of bg3 because I’m a lil scared to move onto moonrise towers? Yes. Is it also because I want to make sure I explore everything thoroughly. Maybe. Is it because I want to boost my ratings with certain characters? Most definitely

On a separate not I’ve been thinking about going to the next ren faire if I get the chance but I’m a bit unsure

Okay so story time, last weekend me and one of my friends went to a small renaissance fair called Avolon and it was really cool, there were Birds of Prey which was a bunch of rescued birds, archery, lots of vendors but the main big thing there was the jousting. And I got to meet one of the knights and holyljbfshaboigjbriouabo she was pretty as HECK!!! I got to talk to her I was in my crusader costume, her name was Lady May The Lioness, she told me she liked my costume and she used to have a helmet like mine stuff like that, and being as gay as i am i was flustered the whole time and i donated some money to them and i wouldve gotten her autograph on my shield if i had a marker, after that my friend teased me about it and shit like that, sooo yeah that happened  also i beat up a bunch of kids with a wooden spear
