Just a smãaaaaaalll reminder that Roman deities aren't copy paste Greek deities!!
If you look deeper into Roman history, you can see that most of these "Roman Equivalent of greek gods" are actually from other people of the Italian peninsula! Such as Sabines, Etruscans, Samnites, and more!

When i was a beginner at witchcraft and paganism back in 2019, witchtok was at its peak popularity.
And i remember seeing those tiktok skits where witches re-tell the messages they got from their deities in an overly simplified way.
Then i was wondering... How the
f🐬ck did that witchtoker's deity just tell them: ,,i want waffle fries!"
Beginner me was so confused 😵💫
So what i want to say is:
Don't be fooled. Sometimes witchy influencers (specifically TikTokers) try to oversimplify the messages they get from their deities, in order to fit them in the 15 second video format with a meme audio for comedy.
Don't be insecure if you don't get deep meaningful messages about your gods! ❤️ We are all different. Some of you maaaay get such messages, some may not! That's oki!

Deity1: Here you go my child, I'm giving you opportunities for you to find the love of your life.
Practitioner 2: Deity, i would like to work with you to improve my divination skills and learn new things! I would also like to ask you to help me find a new job, please!

I feel like a lot of pagans and witches lack self-discipline. (Rant thingy)
Disclaimer: this is NOT in any way a personal attack on anyone. This is all just my opinion.
So i feel like there is a small lack of discipline in the pagan community especially. But also to non-secular witches and magicians who do deity work. However you wanna call yourself 😅
Let's get this straight...
GODS LOVE YOU
GODS SUPPORT YOU, NO MATTER WHAT YOU ARE: whether you are from the culture they are from, or not, whether you have lighter or darker skin, whether you worship other pantheons or not, whether you are cishet or LGBT+, disabled or neurodivergent
GODS WILL LOVE YOUR EVERY OFFERING, NO MATTER HOW SMALL IT SEEMS TO YOU...
And most importantly, they will adapt to you, and they understand you are a human being and have bad and good days. Days that you are too tired, too sad, and too depressed to worship. They have that in mind.
But gods CAN AND WILL call you out if you are generally disrespectful, call them bad names , too lazy to do anything for them all the time even if you have energy and motivation.
They WILL indeed be... Sad to see you are using their patience, their kindness, to lie to them, and to not give them at least the minimum devotion you can give.
They won't punish you, to say, generally, they won't be angry, generally. But please, don't use their patience and support for you too much.
It's easiest to say "gods will love me regardless". But do YOU love gods regardless? Are you willing to give all you can give even when that is a simple prayer before going to bed?

I just had a dream...
i remember i was sitting on a sofa, and i remember a woman coming up to me (I don't remember her appearance , but a gut feeling told me she was an experienced witch) and she told me:
,,Gods aren't here for you just for exchange and work. Even when working, they are here for you. Gods care about you. They are real. They are here for you."
And even tho I don't really remember half of that dream. I believe that one of my goddesses visited me in it ❤️🫶🏻
Hot take. But just because something is an open practice or religion, it doesn't mean you shouldn't look into the history and context of worship and respect the culture and rituals. Yes, even if you are an eclectic pagan.
Example, even if you just want to worship/work with Ra or Osiris, you should absolutely respect the 42 Laws of Maat. And if you are a greek polytheist, you should absolutely look into miasma and respect the customs when it comes to it as much as you can in modern day society. If you are a roman polytheist, you should cover your head during rituals (correct me if i am wrong on that one!).
Gods will also appreciate your effort to worship them accordingly in this society that looks down on pagan religions and waters them down to "mythology".
Of course, you don't have to do everything 100% the way it was done in ancient times, but it's the thought and effort that counts.It's NOT a great mindset that you can do whatever you want with open religions!

In order to actually get likes and reblogs i need to start my blog with "daily/friendly reminder" "hot take" or just make a rant about pagan tiktok. You will only get comments and likes when you make a discourse post or a "gods love you" post for the 100th time this week.

Don't get me wrong, it's not all about likes. But sometimes i feel like i am talking to a wall 😭. It's exhausting to see that Tumblr is becoming like TikTok: you only catch people's short span of attention by validating people's feelings about things that are normal. Like taking a break from worship and practice.
I JUST WANT TO HAVE ACTUAL DEEP, MEANINGFUL CONVERSATION ABOUT PAGANISM ON TUMBLR.
Maybe i am just new and don't understand stuff , i only joined last year... And people will come to me in the comments saying "bruh what did you expect this is a fandom space!" But all i want is to stop this repetitive wave of posts about discourse and toxic positivity.

So uh.. i just wanna say
I genuinely do not understand how some pagans on a CERTAIN APP (I will let y'all guess it!!) think that others having different approaches to relationships with their deity is "offensive" to them.
So what if someone sees the deity you worship as their motherly figure? So what if they call their deity nicknames? So what?!
Does it hurt you that someone is more informal in deity worship? And don't let me get started on godspouses and (solitary) priests.
THEY ARE NOT A THREAT TO YOUR WORSHIP. Their relationships shouldn't be offensive to you!
Me when i see another post mentioning the word "Greco-Roman" , but the only "Roman" thing they include is the Roman name of the god they talked about, saying that the said god is the "Roman equivalent" of the Greek god.
Ahhh guys I've been feeling a pull towards Mercury, surprisingly, since I stick to the Greek pantheon and Christianity stuff usually 😭 this is gonna be a learning curve oh BOY (esp since I already worship Hermes, which he is often conflated with)
