“Why did this have to happen,” she mumbled to herself as she tried to get away from this creepy guy. “Come on, are you really gonna run away?” the guy questioned as she tried to look as disinterested as possible. Remember, you need to be a good example for Marvel. Just walk away, she thought to herself as she waited for him to take his eyes off her for a second and bolted.
Not exactly looking where she was going she bumped into someone, surprisingly, shorter than her. That didn’t happen every day. “Oh, uh, sorry. I was trying to get away from some creep and I accidentally bumped into you. Again, sorry,” Moxee apologized as she looked over her shoulder, hoping the other wasn’t in sight.

saya was busy setting up some new titles on display on a bookshelf in the very front of the bookstore. as usual, she had felt eyes staring at her. it wasn’t something unusual for her at all. in fact, this happened often. as she turned her head to peek if anyone was truly staring at her, someone had bumped into her.
“… er, are you ok?”
Nodding, the woman stayed quiet as she kept watch over her shoulder. The male came into sight and she could feel the hair on the back of her neck stand up in fear. A small inhale could be heard from her but the man saw Saya and immediately back off. He shoved his hands in his pockets and left the store in a slight huff.
Moxee let out a small breath that she didn’t even know she was holding. Thank goodness I ran into an employee, she thought to herself. “Thank you so much. I’m sorry I bothered you,” the mother exhaled with a small smile.
“I can’t really be around men without feeling like I’m going to die,” she whispered. There was Romeo, but they had been through a lot together, he was different.
“a… huh?”
there was instantly a look of concern on her face. she didn’t like the thought of it even if it was happening to someone else. after all, she hated the thought of men even being near her. just the thought of a man deciding he could do as he please to a woman set her off. though saya was only assuming she was talking about a male.
“… gross. why don’t you stand here for a little while? maybe he will know to back off if you’re with an employee.”
Nodding, she couldn’t help but smile a little, even though the other’s smile was a bit awkward. It was kinda nice knowing someone else was so adverse to men as her. Most people would tell her to just get over it, but they didn’t know what abuse she went through for years by the hand of those disgusting men.
“Yeah, I know what you mean. A lot of guys are intimidating. I have one guy I’m friends with that knows a lot of what I’ve gone through and he know’s I’m not into guys so he does his best to make me comfortable,” she hummed happily. She trusted him with her child when she was away and he was one of her best friends.
Chuckling, she raised an eyebrow as she asked, “Is your friend really shorter than you? and I thought I was short.”
Seeing the other woman’s smile fade, she asked, “Umn, did I say something wrong?”
“no, no. you didn’t exactly bother me.”
the innocent murderer tried to muster up some sort of kind smile towards the woman, but it ended up just looking all wryly.
“… i know exactly how you feel. most men are very… er…”
sure, she hated males, but she didn’t want to sound rude about it. after all, it wasn’t as if she couldn’t stand all men. she kept opening and closing her mouth, unsure of how to word it.
“they are very gross… i guess is the best way to put it. though i think they are just mostly intimidating is all…”
she giggled a bit remembering that one male she had surprisingly befriended while she had a fear of males.
“unless they are a bit short like a friend of mine… oh, well. i’m glad that man knew to back off.”
the smile she had slowly melted away from her face. she looked rather unhappy. as if she just heard that her dog just died.
“a-anyways… i’m glad i could help a bit.”
“Oh, okay. Sorry, I misunderstood,” the woman said with a wave of her hand. A quiet laugh left her lips as she let her hand drop back down to her side. Of course, no one was shorter than them, they were on the butt-end of the bell curve when it came to height.
Hearing her voice wince like it did, and the unease she saw in her eyes made her feel bad for what she said.
“I’m sorry. I know how you feel on not wanting to remember things, especially regarding situations with men. I should probably stop talking,” she said with a frown forming on her face. She felt bad for the other. Maybe they’ve gone through similar situations.
“huh? oh no no he isn’t shorter than me! he is just much more shorter than men usually are… i guess. he’s pretty self cautious about his height too. though he’s lucky he’s like that. otherwise, i would have never wanted to befriend him.”
she moved her hand to adjust her glasses, then winced hearing her question. there she went again, making people feel bad. she avoided eye contact with the girl, feeling guilty for… absolutely nothing really.
“n-no! not at all! er, i just… those situations make me not too happy i guess… it makes me remember things i prefer not to.”
