Hey folks, if you're looking for a generalized term to use in place of "shaman," a number of academic folks have been using the term "ritual specialist."

Shaman is a English word derived from the Siberian Tungusian tribe's word: saman meaning 'sage'
The word has been used for commercial exploitation of many indigenous beliefs around the word.
Many Native Americans find the term offensive

Shamanism is a way to keep hope alive for those who feel they can’t find the answers to pursuit of happiness.
