Sunny Song Analysis - Tumblr Posts
Macdennis Spoiler (probably)
After whatever events bring them together to act on their feelings, Mac and Dennis will be shown sharing a look, one then the other, at the line “in my heart, in my soul” where the song “You’re the Inspiration” left off from the season 9 rat trap scene, and as the song picks up at the next line “..baby” Dennis will be the one to make the first move on Mac.
After having a totally sweet and finally reciprocated moment, they lovingly pause to smile at each other, have a wordless conversation of meaningful suggestive smirks during the triumphant guitar riffs, then a quick cut to a shot of a door clicking shut at the drums, and the credits roll over the rest of that part of the song, punctuated on beat to the sound of them finally banging from the other room.
TheEnd
If anyone was wondering, this is the song in the iasip season 13 trailer (Alles Neu by Peter Fox)
The lyrics and style definitely complement the show.
Alexa play Moonbeam Kiss by Joe Brook
dennis reynolds is morosexual
dennis: I’m proud to identify as morosexual. I’m attracted to dumbasses and dumbasses exclusively. mac asked me what the spanish word for tortilla was once and now I dream of kissing him under the moonlight
mac: evolution isn’t real
dennis, already taking off his clothes: mac you’re so fucking stupid

the episode title leaked for when dennis returns
i, for one, would like to hear the boys are back in town at some point in s13 because whenever dennis returns, the boys will be together again and therefore, back in town. thus, it’s only fitting. in this essay i will
If this is true I will scream.
oh did anyone else tear up when “the boys are back in town” started to play during the end credits scene lmao
I screamed.
oh did anyone else tear up when “the boys are back in town” started to play during the end credits scene lmao
Been lookin’ for a good place to post this!
if they don’t play the boys are back in town when dennis comes back from north dakota then what’s the point

Hugh Honey, let me be your
Salty
DOG

Another meaning of the term “Salty Dog” comes from the archaic practice of rubbing salt into the coat of one’s favourite dog as a flea repellent. Therefore, one’s “salty dog” is one’s favourite person, best friend, an so on. This is the meaning of the line in Salty Dog Blues: “Let me be your salty dog, or I don’t wanna be your man at all.” The phrase could also have a sexual meaning. The lyric “Honey, let me be your salty dog” could also be translated to mean “Let me be your sexual partner.”
Dennis nose boops right after sex.

(Dennis Renolds: An Erotic Life short; featuring Dennis having sex to Tchaikovsky's Russian Dance from the Nutcracker.)
[Boop occurs right at the end of the song.]
Mac nose boops Dennis to wake him up.

(S4E4 Mac's Banging the Waitress; an episode about Mac, Dennis, and Charlie sorting out who’s having sex with whom and being very needy for each other’s attention that features Tchaikovsky’s The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy from the Nutcracker.)
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=F8fXiYW4-PI
[Boop occurs a few seconds later, directly after this scene with Charlie and Dennis as Sugar Plum plays.]
Who and what started this nose booping??
Mac is the first one to do this gesture on the show, chronologically before the An Erotic Life episode and this resulting short where Dennis mirrors it.
What does it have to do with Tchaikovsky’s score from the Nuctracker?
Booping a nose between these two has come to signify offering and asking for intimacy, I guess...?
Dennis wanted to emulate in bed what made him feel close to someone (Mac) when they were in his bed - He liked it when he was the one...being booped, for lack of a better term, so he did that to who he was with in that position? Feining closeness by copying the gesture of genuine closeness.
Are there anymore instances of songs from the Nutcracker Suite in Sunny? I need more data for
#TchaikovskyNoseBooping
Everything was focused on the gang’s past and how each of them is clinging to an element of their youth never giving anything up (without the chance of there being a purpose to doing that in order to solve past issues for growth) leaving no room for their futures - A PERFECT time to dismiss addressing Dennis’ absence, for now at least, concerning his involvement for a future with his North Dakota family.

mac lip syncing never gonna give you up thank you for my life
god so @ th end of new wheels mac is CLEARLY singing his mf heart out to rick astley….but we kno for a fact he doesnt Like tht style of music (ie when he tried making a band w th gang he went for a whole diff genre) but hes jus belting th lyrics at the end of the ep w perfect accuracy! so n e ways in conclusion th only reason he has a rick astley song memorized is bc of how often him n dennis drive together thanks
Escape (The Piña Colada Song) playing from another room
I still have my tabs up from trying to figure out which song it might be from before the season began ahaha, yeah I’ve been confused where the dancing queen expectation first came from
guys. mac in “mac finds his pride” will dance some ballet sequence to sigur rós it has been confirmed at the script reading at TCA18

What Charlie was doing synced with some of the lyrics and music of Jingle Bell Rock that were playing while he built the traps.
- exaggeratedly lifts his legs over the string at the line “pick up your feet”
- dips below the next string in time with a guitar sfx
- doing this all to thwart burglars around still being ‘in time’ for the superbowl (“around the clock”)
- right after “jinglin’ feet” Charlie steps in the trap
Eye of the Tiger plays when the party bus arrives

and again as Charlie gains renewed determination after eating the rat and crawls towards the bar, continuing through to while he’s puking up said rat

reviving from passing out at the line

Mac’s song, Varúð by Sigur Rós:
“It doesn’t matter what I say.
The only thing that matters is how you feel.
Understanding that the words are irrelevant is of great importance.
What feelings do you have?”
(said in Morse Code throughout the song)
