Shang Qinghua
Mobei Jun
Luo Binghe
Shen Qingqiu/Yuan
I have this Shang Qinghua hc where heās an actual all-out BAMF. Like, he knows how to kick ass and take names. He can fight better than everyone, heās powerful af, and heās practically perfect at anything he does. He created the PIDW world, and he bends it to his will. Like, heās legit a Godā¢ļø. And he keeps that tidbit to himself, but sometimes he has trouble hiding it.
One time he beat Liu Qingge in a brutal training fight (one that SQH didnāt even want to participate in), but accidentally-on-purpose trips and hurts himself afterwards, making everyone believe it was a one-off thing.
Heās a better cook than Luo Binghe, although no one knows that until the chef for A Ding gets sick and SQH has a bunch of starving kids to deal with.
SQH is also super charming and naturally flirtatious. Heās on the logistics peak, meaning he has to talk to merchants and negotiate prices and deals. He has a fucking silver tongue. Not in a slimy way, but in the same way as Binghe. (LBH got his personality from somewhere.) SQHās charm was partially what got Mobei Jun to be interested enough not to kill him when they were teens.
SQH can use The System to his advantage and become omnipotent if he wanted to. He doesnāt, because it takes a lot of work, but he could. In fact, he hacked The System when he was still an infant, it does whatever he tells it. Including giving him infinity points. Sometimes itāll give him a mission, but SQH treats it like an annoying pop-up ad.
SQH is ruthless, manipulative, and can crush anyone like an ant mentally, physically and emotionally. He actually put a lot of himself into LBH while writing the book. And he kind of regrets that because the two really canāt stand each other due to how similar they are. Although LBH doesnāt realize it.
His cultivation is top tier. Heās actually the strongest cultivator in the worldābut it wasnāt because he worked his ass off. He just rigged the game.
I can see him acting pathetic and dramatic to deflect because then heās underestimated af. Also, the fake tears? His son does the same exact thing. But SQH on the inside is highly amused by everything. Especially Binghe. He loves his son, and knows what LBH is capable of, but it only makes him laugh. Internally, of course. Like, this whole world is hilarious to him.
SQH is smart and because these are his creations, he can outsmart any of them. Itās lonely though, being a God among men. So, instead of using his actual abilities, he doesnāt. Why would he interfere with anyoneās lives? Why do anything for people who were cruel towards him at times, not realizing they should fear him. He has an ego, but at the same time what was the point? Heās a selfish and lazy Godā¢ļø.
When Shen Yuan transmigrates into SQQ he becomes the only person Shang Qinghua doesnāt know how to read. And itās refreshing, it makes SQH feel human for the first time in decades.
TL:DR - HC that SQH is a literal Godā¢ļø but keeps it a secret. He prefers being an underestimated dude.

I love Shang Qinghua!
Heās probably my favorite character in SVSSS. I go rabid for him. But the weird thing? I can literally ship him with anyone and be pleased. Like, love me Mobei Jun x Shang Qinghua. Like yaaas letās enjoy that canon ship. But will also devour SY x SQH, LQG x SQH, LBH x SQHā¦and the list goes on. As long as Shang Qinghua is in it (and written well) I eat that shit up.
(open to any and all fic recs btw)
I am on my knees begging you all to watch this itās so goodš§āāļøāā”ļø
modern au where college dropout sqh DMs a D&D game on twitch that's popular bc he's known to be a terribly chaotic DM
he has his homebrew world that is actually very, very detailed, but since he comes up with his best ideas in the moment, he tends to forget or retcon a lot of stuff. it frustrates players and viewers alike.
but he's also incrediblly good at bringing characters to life, integrating backgrounds, playing npcs that viewers fall in love with, and the world he built is so vast - people often ask for him to write an adventure/setting/world instead of DMing, but twitch is his source of income, so he can't do that
then his party has a falling out; some players disrespect the boundaries of others, sqh's suggestion to use consent sheets, taboos and cards to signify if someone is not feeling up to something is smashed down by half the party who think it's "woke bullshit ruining D&D". At the end of that session, all players decide to quit and sqh is sitting there like "Well, there goes my campaign, guess that's it. maybe I'll rewatch all our videos and painstakingly write that book for money"
enter shen yuan, rules lawyer and note-taker extraordinaire and loyal watcher and hater of the campaign. he's upset that now he'll never get to know the ending of the story, so many npcs still had their motives and backgrounds unexplored! the waste!
so he contacts sqh, offering to be a player for him under specific conditions such as sqh has to get better at consistency, no more retconning, and the other players have to be respectful towards each other, safety tools must be used from day one, etc. sqh decides to take it.
so they start looking for more players - locally, this time, bc the last campaign was played online due to distances. this time, they wanna play at a table. sqh doesn't have many irl friends, but he does have Liu Mingyan, who is always stuck being the DM but would really like to actually be a player for once. lmy brings her girlfriend shl along.
When he finds out that his crush has this hobby and is looking for other players, Luo Binghe becomes a D&D expert overnight.
then sqh's former college roommate mbj, who has been heart broken since sqh dropped out and moved off campus before he managed to seduce him, finds out and jumps at the chance to see him again irl at least once a week
their session zero is not livestreamed; they just sit down at the big table sy bought specifically for this. and things go so well? their group vibe is chaotic but good, they agree on the most important things, and the sitting at the table brings a new level of immersion that sqh has been craving for so long.
in the end, they all settle on their characters. they do not pick up where the last campaign left off - rather, they start from a different aspect of it that doesn't require a story reset.
The game goes so well. It's fun, it's immesive, it's exciting. with sy's note-taking skills, the plot goes much more smoothly. sqh gets excited about DMing again - he actually gets into crafting physical things like notes, a quest board, things like that.
sy, who always claimed that romance had no place in D&D, it's meant for just adventure, eventually very shyly begins a little romance in-game with one of sqh's npcs. lbh and mbj despair a little over it. eventually, sqh outs that npc as a traitor who has been sabotaging the party all along, and sy and his character are both heartbroken.
mbj makes a point of trying to romance pretty much every single npc from then on. his half-orc paladin always just rips off flowers somewhere and offers them to the respective npc. viewers constantly despair over him bc mbj just isn't good at roleplaying and they feel like he hasn't understood what a paladin is supposed to be like, his character lacks the emotional complexity, blabla, he should have played a half orc - but then in a q&a mbj says that he wanted to play a character who is completely devoted to the creator god, who has been sleeping for milennia.
sqh does not get the hint.
that q&a session does remind mbj of his character's motives though, he stops trying to romance every single npc and instead seeks contact and guidance from his god.
feeling cheeky, sqh puts an npc at the paladin's side - a scaredy-cat bard who is actually the creator god's human form after the god had his powers sealed milennia ago for creating something that coud kill the others gods. Since then, he has been wandering the earth in a weak human form while the gods claimed he has been sleeping.
the scene in which that is revealed leads to the first and only on-screen kiss where mbj, overcome with his own and his character's feelings (for once), grabs sqh by the face and kisses him. the chat is freaking out. sqh is in a daze while sy and lmy rip into mbj for violating their consent rules until sqh finally goes it's fine, it was just an in-character spur of the moment thing, he doesn't mind!! please don't do it again but it's okay!! let's just continue the story!!!
mbj, once again despairing bc he finally kissed his crush but his crush thought it was just an in character thing
they have another long talk about consent and boundaries in the group. afterwards mbj wants to talk to sqh alone to explain, sqh just goes on this rant that it's fine, mbj was too in character, he understands that it doesn't mean anything about them and that he regrets it and it was a mistake and mbj, fed up with sqh's lack of understanding, just goes "yes, it was in character, but only because i made that character because i want to kiss you"
and then they make out on the gaming table, the end
SQH running into White Lotus LBH for the first time
Shang Qinghua: well, well, well
Luo Binghe: ?
Shang Qinghua: if it isnāt the consequences of my actions
I drew Shen Qingqiu/Shen Jiu (sorry his names spelt wrong on the paper) and Luo Binghe with charcoal and crayons.
For a first time attempt I'd say they ain't that bad :D
