Ok, so I love this HC?
Like, the first time SQH sees SY glitch he is freaked tf out, but then finds it hilarious. Because 1. He’s a bit of a dick, and 2. SY is one of the sweetest people in their sect. The irony kills SQH.
And let’s say this also happens when SY is SQQ. Which makes it funnier because he’s a sweetie stuck as the scum villain. So one moment you see Shizun, but when he’s high-key panicking you see a nerdy 20-something year old who’s actually really cute, and when he’s super pissed it’s this dark mass with glowing green eyes and sharp teeth. And despite this SY still somehow accidentally winds up with a harem of men fawning over him! SQH wonders if he’s the only one who could see the glitches.
Yes, SY had nothing to do with PIDW, but he was Cucumber-bro, and SQH thinks that this is divine justice and karma for how much of an asshole SY was to him—the God of the world. They bicker about it constantly.
The real kicker? SQH can probably fix him. He just doesn’t.
I have this Shang Qinghua hc where he’s an actual all-out BAMF. Like, he knows how to kick ass and take names. He can fight better than everyone, he’s powerful af, and he’s practically perfect at anything he does. He created the PIDW world, and he bends it to his will. Like, he’s legit a God™️. And he keeps that tidbit to himself, but sometimes he has trouble hiding it.
One time he beat Liu Qingge in a brutal training fight (one that SQH didn’t even want to participate in), but accidentally-on-purpose trips and hurts himself afterwards, making everyone believe it was a one-off thing.
He’s a better cook than Luo Binghe, although no one knows that until the chef for A Ding gets sick and SQH has a bunch of starving kids to deal with.
SQH is also super charming and naturally flirtatious. He’s on the logistics peak, meaning he has to talk to merchants and negotiate prices and deals. He has a fucking silver tongue. Not in a slimy way, but in the same way as Binghe. (LBH got his personality from somewhere.) SQH’s charm was partially what got Mobei Jun to be interested enough not to kill him when they were teens.
SQH can use The System to his advantage and become omnipotent if he wanted to. He doesn’t, because it takes a lot of work, but he could. In fact, he hacked The System when he was still an infant, it does whatever he tells it. Including giving him infinity points. Sometimes it’ll give him a mission, but SQH treats it like an annoying pop-up ad.
SQH is ruthless, manipulative, and can crush anyone like an ant mentally, physically and emotionally. He actually put a lot of himself into LBH while writing the book. And he kind of regrets that because the two really can’t stand each other due to how similar they are. Although LBH doesn’t realize it.
His cultivation is top tier. He’s actually the strongest cultivator in the world—but it wasn’t because he worked his ass off. He just rigged the game.
I can see him acting pathetic and dramatic to deflect because then he’s underestimated af. Also, the fake tears? His son does the same exact thing. But SQH on the inside is highly amused by everything. Especially Binghe. He loves his son, and knows what LBH is capable of, but it only makes him laugh. Internally, of course. Like, this whole world is hilarious to him.
SQH is smart and because these are his creations, he can outsmart any of them. It’s lonely though, being a God among men. So, instead of using his actual abilities, he doesn’t. Why would he interfere with anyone’s lives? Why do anything for people who were cruel towards him at times, not realizing they should fear him. He has an ego, but at the same time what was the point? He’s a selfish and lazy God™️.
When Shen Yuan transmigrates into SQQ he becomes the only person Shang Qinghua doesn’t know how to read. And it’s refreshing, it makes SQH feel human for the first time in decades.
TL:DR - HC that SQH is a literal God™️ but keeps it a secret. He prefers being an underestimated dude.

Something that I think would make Shen Yuan's obsessive hate of PIDW (and subsequently cumplane's friendship) so much funnier is if Airplane is like genuinely an amazing writer. Could you imagine Shen Yuan reading this beautifully written prose and being so personally offended that he died because said beautiful writing was used to tell some fuckass plot about some demon lord getting laid. Like he meets Shang Qinghua and is constantly stuck between "please continue writing, its so beautiful" and "please never write ever again what the FUCK was that plot"

He’s probably my favorite character in SVSSS. I go rabid for him. But the weird thing? I can literally ship him with anyone and be pleased. Like, love me Mobei Jun x Shang Qinghua. Like yaaas let’s enjoy that canon ship. But will also devour SY x SQH, LQG x SQH, LBH x SQH…and the list goes on. As long as Shang Qinghua is in it (and written well) I eat that shit up.

my favorite version of cucumberplane is pre-transmigration in which theyre married but have no fucking idea who the other is online. Peerless Cucumber has been tormenting Airplane Shooting Through the Sky for years and calling him a useless virgin. Airplane has been replying to his forum posts and calling him a shut in who never gets laid. even after they go through the spider-man pointing meme of revelations ("you! my husband!!") they dont stop with the mockery. sometimes a new reader comes along and sees them flaming each other online and asks "why is the author talking to this troll lmao" and the veterans all pile on to say "theyre fucking married can you believe that"
it will be now and forever funny that cumplane ended up marrying fantasy versions of each other. like fuck can you imagine marrying the self insert of your arch-rival but it actually has to be chill because the guy he married is literally also just the xianxia ice demon version of you WHO YOUR SEMI-DIEFIC RIVAL MADE EXPLICITLY AS HIS DREAM MAN and both of you will be in denial of this fact forever

My observation (from what I remember so I might be wrong) about cumplane
I don’t like how SY(as much as I love him) really talks to him?? Cause sometimes it DOES seem like he hates him instead of viewing him as a friend , and yes I know that friends bully each other sometimes and that all friendships are different but like?? Most of the time it looks to me like SY is bullying SQH and like I’d love it if it’s because he internally thinks that “it’s SQH fault that their in the novel forced to make difficult choices , it’s his fault that he’s in the villains body so yes he deserves all that I say to him because if he didn’t write such an awful novel WE wouldn’t be forced to fix it “ while also thinking “ he’s the only one who I can talk about the original world about without thinking I’m crazy he’s the only one that knows so I have to stay with him or else I’ll go insane “ (or at least that’s how I think it is)
Anyway with SQH he gets(bullied???(picked on????) by literally everyone because apparently every single PL thinks he’s pathetic (and well he IS but he’s. Also NOT) I just think that it’s kinda to far to even have his (friend????(transmigarator pal???(the only thing that makes him think that everything he remembers was actually real and he did actually have another life( someone that’s not forcing him to do things even though he’s scared because whatifhegetscaughtwho’dkillhimfirsttheotherPLor the system) anyway all I’m saying it gets sad when SQH is just constantly picked on from his coworkers his lover and even his friend(??)(not to say that SQH isn’t a rat bastard still I love him but he ALSO isn’t without his faults(

I think, on some level, that Shen Yuan is like enrichment for Airplane Bro's enclosure. I think Airplane Bro kind of fucking LOVES having this guy around. Like, I do think their relationship is nuanced, weird and full of contradictions and not always good for them, but I also think that some chaotic part of Shang Qinghua honestly likes having his #1 hater weirdo running around completely fucking up his world.
Shen Qingqiu, grabbing Shang Qinghua by the shoulders: "Why didn't anyone TELL ME that Binghe is GAY NOW?! I'm going to die because of MONSTER DICK?!?!?!"
Shang Qinghua: (internally, probably only half-consciously) "Incredible. Amazing. How did I live without you? You torture me with your bullshit. You complete me in every possible way. I think we might be soulmates and we should make out about it. I hate you. I love you. You mean nothing to me and everything to me. This isn't your story and you stole it from me. I wrote this for you without even knowing you existed. You are a fascinating mystery that I will never solve. I will throw you under the bus at the first opportunity and yet I can't stop risking my life to help you. Your stupid game of gay murder chicken with my emotionally and mentally unstable protagonist is going to destroy the world and kill us all and I've never felt more alive. You have changed me as a person. Let's do this forever."
Shang Qinghua: (out loud) "Lol, sucks to be you, bro. At least you can get laid."
Cumplane where Airplane, in a fit of either bravery or insanity or positive or negative self-esteem (he's not totally sure) decides to cosplay as Luo Binghe and post the pictures online.
Of course, he doesn't do it as "Airplane Shooting Towards the Sky", he knows he has some questionable fans and doesn't really want to hand them a picture of his face. So he posts the images under one of the pseudonyms he uses for lurking around the comment section and social media tags. It's just a handful of images of him looking like the protagonist in his head, attempting to strike cool poses in a wig and some period clothes (he rented both).
The reception is... mixed. Airplane does not have abs, after all, nor a flawless complexion or much skill with makeup. He is fat, freckled, and awkward. The PIDW readership is not known for being particularly supportive either. In fact they're mostly a crab bucket of negativity and masculine posturing, so he gets a lot of mean-spirited commentary.
It's fine. Nothing he hadn't expected. Really solidifies for him that posting was a fit of madness, actually! What did he even expect? He's bracing himself for the worst when he sees that Peerless Cucumber, notorious hate-reader and defender of Luo Binghe's honor, has commented. Ah, shit. He's probably going to rip into Airplane for daring to sully his precious Binghe's reputation by dressing up like that, isn't he?
The comment is long, too. Fuck. Airplane's not sure if his self-esteem can take a comprehensive beating from the champion hater himself, but he's too curious not to look.
Shen Yuan, in the meanwhile, is just pleased that there has FINALLY been a Luo Binghe cosplayer who looks the part. Of course Luo Binghe wouldn't have exaggerated muscles, those are just a product of dehydration. Binghe spent most of his disciple years running around chopping wood and hauling laundry, and then later doing whatever he could to pack on the calories in order to make it through the Abyss. A hefty workman's build would only make sense for him, anything else would be nonsense. Airplane also described Luo Binghe as having a beautiful face, which Shen Yuan won't blame most cosplayers for not being able to just make happen, but a beautiful face doesn't mean "covered in so much makeup it looks like an anime character"! When would Luo Binghe have the time or inclination to put on makeup? A natural beauty with some inevitable blemishes would make more sense and be much more appealing, and this "Airplane Crashing to the Ground" (funny play on the author's name, Shen Yuan approves) has very pretty features! Everyone hating on this cosplay is just an idiot, the only actual problem is that his wig is poorly fitted.
So in true Peerless Cucumber fashion, he lays this all out.
This gets him embroiled in arguments with several other fans, who even accuse him of actually being the guy in the photos, claiming that there's no other reason why he would defend them. Shen Yuan doesn't care if people think that's him, because that's still the best Luo Binghe cosplay he's ever seen, but he doesn't want them doubting the sincerity of his arguments. So, he decides that the only reasonable thing to do is dress himself up in cosplay as well and then post the actual photos of himself.
While he'd like to dress up as one of Luo Binghe's allies like Mobei Jun, or maybe someone cool like Yue Qingyuan, he is too pedantic to think he could pull that off. Those guys are all strong warrior types, and Shen Yuan is a scrawny pale rich kid who looks like he'd probably lose a fight with a wet paper towel. The only characters he could plausibly pull off would be some of the more consumptive members of Binghe's harem and maybe, maybe, one of the weaker villains like Shen Qingqiu.
Shen Yuan is NOT posting pictures of himself crossplaying to the central nexus of toxic masculinity itself, so... Shen Qingqiu it is!
Poor Airplane has to go sit and stare at a while for a while. Peerless Cucumber likes his cosplay. Peerless Cucumber, ardent defender of Shang Qinghua's sellout crappy main character mary-sue, thinks Airplane is good-looking enough to cosplay as him. And said so. Repeatedly. And then posted borderline thirst-trap villain cosplay of himself, inadvertently revealing in the process that he is hot.
What the. What. What?!
Anyway, Shen Yuan suggests that they attend the next convention both cosplaying together because Airplane Shooting Towards the Sky is supposed to be doing a meet & greet at that one, and wouldn't it be fun to go as a pair? And Airplane agrees before his brain catches up and he realizes that might present a problem.
