Christmas with TXT headcanons

I'm sorry this is so short, I'm spent

Taehyun needing to look at all the Christmas trees at the farm before choosing one

Getting a tree almost as high as the ceiling because you've always wanted a big one and Soobin can reach the top to place the star >:)

Meanwhile, Beomgyu wanting the smallest tree of the lot because he feels sorry that nobody will want it

Yeonjun who you can't leave alone in the living room on Christmas eve because you just know he will peak at what's in his stocking

Huening Kai giving you the cutest snow globe as a gift because you've always wanted one and you'll treasure it forever

Going on a walk together to look at Christmas lights, Beomgyu and Yeonjun sticking to you like glue and sandwiching you between them because they're cold despite being bundled up to the nines

Running the last block and a half back to the dorm because Taehyun and Huening Kai decided to initiate a snow throwing fight, simultaneously laughing and trying not to slip in the snow

Soobin’s heart sinks as this new guy named Taehyun asks you if you might like to get dinner with him—you pick the restaurant and he’ll pay—asking you out so easily while Soobin has been trying for years to find the courage. He smiles halfheartedly and nods when you look up at him with questioning eyes, watching you grin and wave as you walk away with your arm slung through Taehyun’s.

Even after you've been together a few years, you still catch Soobin admiring you as if he's smitten; your beauty and grace never wear off for him, and he still gets a little flustered and stuttery. You know he would spend every second of the rest of his life by your side, but you still want him to properly live it, not hide away with you all the time. So you let him introduce you to his friends, hard as it is for you to be around humans, and tag along to spend time with them for as long as you can stand. You find it gets easier each time, and more worth it to see your boyfriend laughing and enjoying time with his buddies.

Though Yeonjun knows you can't cry, he seems to be tuned in to your emotions. It's as if he can sense when you're upset. He knows you're older than him—though you've only given him a ballpark figure of just how many years you've seen—but, you're still his baby. He never lets you wall him out; even if you think it's too disturbing for a human to hear or he won't be able to understand, he wants to try. As the only person who knows your true nature, he wants to be someone you can open up to, tell all your secrets and fears to. He feels he can take it, because he loves you.

Beomgyu wants to hear all the stories—the real, true ones, not legends and lore that he can find on the internet that could just be foktales—and he wants to hear them from you. So many late nights are spent talking, Beomgyu mostly listening and throwing out questions and comments to your information. He listens so intently, eyes growing wider and wider, wrapping you even more around his little finger, especially when he breaks into an impressed smile during your recounts of things you've seen or done. When it's very late and Beomgyu refuses to sleep, too enthralled by the conversation, you retort to a little trickery; you gently brush your fingers through his hair over and over until his eyes start to grow heavy, continuing to talk in your quiet musical voice, until you've lulled him off into a deep sleep.

Taehyun has always been the strong one, but with his vampire partner, he often forgets that he's weaker and more vulnerable. Despite his love being immortal, he still acts in a protective way of them; walking on the side of the sidewalk on which he can shield them from threatening looking oncoming foot traffic, doing the heavier and more dangerous jobs around the house. It's natural to him. He doesn't even consider the fact that you don't need him to do these things. He won't admit it, but he's a little embarrassed that you can lift him off the ground with such ease.

Huening Kai is big and clumsy, while you are graceful and dexterous. You're always catching things he knocks over or drops before they can hit the floor, Kai apologising every time he notices your quick save. You just kiss his cheek and reassure him with a smile. The two of you are so in love, and Kai can't help but think about the future—the one where you live forever and he doesn't. It pangs his heart, the thought of you moving on and finding someone else after he's gone, and he often has nightmares about it. It takes a while for him to come clean about the context of the dreams you wake him from, and you're quick to make him understand that falling in love is not something you do often, with vampires or humans. It's just something that happened because you happened to meet him.

Taehyun loves stories. As a boy, he grew up with a higher reading skill than his classmates, devouring books faster than the school librarian could supply them. In his young adult years, not much has changed – wherever he is, there's a book in his hands, in his bag, or on his mind.

There's one story that Taehyun cherishes the most. It's a story his parents read to him when he was young, and he begged to hear it every night until they grew tired of it. This story is his favourite, one he knows by heart, his childhood copy so well-loved that its spine is as fragile as the pages themselves. There are several copies of the tale on his bookshelves; he's collected and procured special editions, different translations, most of which he can't even read. The story is important to him, and he feels a strong pull towards it, a connection he can't explain. It feels like a memory to him, or a recurring dream. He can see the tale play out in his head as if recalling life events, feel the emotions as if they were once his own. Sometimes it feels as though the story is real and his life is just a daydream.

While walking on a busy street one afternoon, he hears the name of the prince from his beloved book called out. Instinctively he turns towards the sound as if answering to his own name. But the caller is not seeking him. Instead he sees someone chasing after a dog that's gotten loose. The animal barrels into Taehyun, knocking him down. When he sees your face, he's certain he knows you. You’re as strangely familiar to him as the book he loves so much. The more time he spends with you as you two become friends, the more he remembers parts of the story that aren't written in any versions of his books.

How can he convince you that a fairy tale is really history, that you have known him before, and that your life is a fabricated lie to hide a curse that must be broken?

Walking down the park you guys held hands, he wasn't paying much attention to you as he was focusing on his naturistic surroundings, but he still looked over at you once in a while.

You guys were just peacefully walking along the sidewalk and before he even noticed you were laying flat on the ground.

He didn't even realize it happened but when he did his face immediately became worried his body leaned over to crouch down next to you.

I sighed as I glanced between the red dress and the black dress that was in my closet. They both were gorgeous, but which one screamed 'first date'? At least you don't have to make a decision on your own.

"Taehyun, if you were going on a first date, what color would you hope the girl wears?" You asked

Taehyun was laying on your bed, his head resting on the mountain of pillows you had at the top. His arms were crossed over his chest. He watched as you held up the two dresses, your eyes somewhat glancing towards the red dress but you were trying your best not to make it obvious. It took everything in him not to smirk, not wanting to make it known he had caught you. You were too adorable.

"I think the red one would be nice? You know, a pop of color to catch someone's attention."

You grinned with satisfaction. His heart skipped a beat at the sight. God, he loved making you happy. You hung up the black dress in your closet before heading towards your bathroom to get ready.

Once the coast was clear, Taehyun pressed his head to your pillow and let out a low groan. It was torture witnessing you get ready for someone else. He wanted to be the guy that was going to take you out, show you out to the world. He wanted to be the one you got excited about seeing, telling anyone that was willing to listen. Yet, he find himself always freezing up when it was time to confess to you.

As he heard the door open, he sat up quickly. His eyes nearly popped out of their head as you revealed yourself. You got to be kidding me.

You were wearing a maroon, square neck dress. It was a long sleeve dress that had elastic cuffs around the wrists, amplifying the fairy-like look. It was a fit and flare dress that just looked like it was made for you. Selfishly, he might have also picked out the dress because it was his favorite color on you. You just radiated when you work red.

"So, what do you think? You sure this isn't too much for a first date?" "Y/n, I mean this, you look phenomenal."

You grinned with satisfaction as you did a small twirl in the dress, letting him have a full view. If only you weren't getting ready for someone else, if only you were getting ready for him. He wanted so desperately to walk up and kiss you, to feel your lips against his. But that wasn't something that best friends did.

You turned towards the mirror in your bedroom. It was a sun mirror you bought from Urban Outfitters. It was very fitting, as Taehyun always compared you to the sun.

"I think I'm going to leave my hair natural today. I've really been loving my curls.'

God damn. You were going to be the death of him.

Before your date showed up, you urged Taehyun to leave. Mainly because this was your first date with this guy, and you didn't want to give the wrong impression.

While Taehyun should be happy for you, he couldn't help but feel the sting in his heart. You had only really gotten serious abut dating in the past couple of weeks. He thought he had more time to devise a plan in how to make you his. Your friends saw it as the perfect opportunity to set up your dating profile.

Not surprisingly, you were getting messages within five minutes of your account being open. Of course everyone wanted to be with you. You were one of a kind. Taehyun just wished he was first in line.

He had found himself back in the dorms an hour after you give him the boot to the door. He took the long way home, wanting to take the train back to the dorms so he could be alone with his thoughts.

Would you even be interested in dating him? You two were best friends. While there have been numerous storylines where best friends are perfect lovers, he knew the reality that it can be hard. He cannot afford to lose you in his life. It was dangerous territory to venture into. Even him confessing his feelings was a risk.

Maybe he should talk to Soobin or Yeonjun about how he was feeling? He felt like the whole scenario was a cruel form of torture. While he loved seeing you be happy, he felt sick to his stomach knowing it wasn't him at the end of the day you were seeing so intimately. Maybe his two older friends could provide insight?

He was about to get a glass of water to clear his mind when his phone began to ring. That's freaky. I was just about to call Soobin. Did he read my mind? Taehyun peered over but froze the moment he saw your name flash on the screen. Something didn't feel right about you calling him this time.

It felt like only a minute passed by between when you called Taehyun and hung up the phone. You waited under the awning outside of the restaurant after hiding out in the bathroom. At least until you were certain your date left.

Taehyun and you had a habit of going on drives when you were upset. You often blasted music from a playlist you two made. You would scream lyrics, laugh, and just forget about your problems. Tonight, you two rode in silence.

He went to every length to make sure you were comfortable. It was an awkward silence. It offered you to fill the space with whatever you needed. If you needed to play music, he was ready to sing along with you. If you needed to vent, he was ready to listen. He would drive for however long you needed him to. "Thank you for driving out to come pick me up, Taehyun," you spoke up.

Looking over at you, Taehyun smiled gently. "It really isn't a big deal, y/n. I would do anything you asked."

"I bet you're wondering what happened," you murmured.

Of course he was curious. You've had a handful of bad dates, but none that resulted in you calling him to rescue you from the date. However, he didn't want to just ask outright out of respect for you.

"Taehyun, he was awful! First of all, he showed up to the date late. I understand because the weather isn't the best," you began retelling. "But then he had the nerve to tell me how I should have dressed, how I should have done my hair."

He could feel his anger bubbling inside of him. He's never met the guy you were supposed to go out with tonight but he prays he never comes across him. The tone of his voice took you by surprise. He was stern. His gaze locked on you which made you instantly regret asking that question. You stared at him with wide eyes. Seeing your shock, he relaxed a bit but still knew he had to help you see just how amazing you are.

Not only are you kind, generous, intellectual, and witty, but you are so gorgeous. You carry yourself with grace and elegance. You are stunning from head to toe. Any guy would be lucky to be yours. The guy who were out with tonight is going to realize tomorrow how much he lost out on."

Your heart swelled hearing Taehyun. You never knew him, or anyone for that matter, viewed in such a positive light. You figured you were average compared to other girls.

"I mean, I regret not telling you sooner how I feel," Taehyun admitted.

In that moment, both of your eyes widened as you stared at each other. You were trying to make sure you heard Taehyun correctly. On the other side, Taehyun was freaking out over what he just said.

It was as if everything you've wanted to hear finally came to light. You have gone back and forth with the idea of you and Taehyun getting together. However, you were his best friend. You never wanted to cross a line you couldn't backtrack. He was too important in your life.

Not realizing what took over you, you very carefully crossed over the middle console into his lap. He laughed and was taken back by your actions. His hands immediately fell on your waist to help you over, wanting to make sure you didn't hurt yourself in the process. "What are you doing?" "Something that I should've done a long time ago," you confessed.

Once you were settled in his lap, you placed on hand on his shoulder. The other hand cupped his cheek, gazing into his eyes. You were looking for any sign at all, whether it be verbal or his body language to stop. He stared at you with anticipation. A gentle smile was curled on his lips. You watched as his eyes glanced from yours to your lips before looking back into your eyes.

There is the green light.

You leaned in to fully press your lips against yours. He squeezed your hips at the feeling and pulled you in closer. You giggled against his lips as reality set in. You were kissing your best friend. His lips were soft yet he overtook the kiss, showing that he wanted this as equally as you did.

The sound of your lips smacking against one another and the sound of rain still falling made the perfect ambiance. You melted underneath Taehyun's touch. He always had the power to make you feel soft and warm without even trying. Now with getting to be such emotionally vulnerable with him, really letting him in, that feeling was amplified.

Most protective to least would be Yeonjun, Soobin, Taehyun, Beomgyu, Hueningkai

Yeonjun is more protective, not in a toxic way he just doesn't want anything happening to you or hurting you and will have at least an arm around your waist or shoulders in public. Needs you to be safe. Wants to take care of you and will never forgive himself if you got hurt, especially while he was with you.

Soobin is overprotective only because he cares, he wants you to be comfortable at all times even in public and especially with him, he doesn't want you to feel uncomfortable or like he's not a safe place because he wants you to come to him for things. It may not seem like it but he's most ig obvious with it, people will know y'all are dating.

Taehyun is probably a little less obvious and more so less overprotective, but he's a good balance of possessiveness rather than protectiveness. He needs people to know you're his but not in a desperate way. He's okay just holding hands with you in public but if someone tries making a move very obviously or you're clearly uncomfortable he's going to step in and verbally let em know he's yours. But he's not the type to get jealous quickly or too easily or make a big deal out of sum.

Beomgyu seems less possessive and more protective but only out of concern. He feels like your friend(s) are mistreating you? He's gonna ask you about it because he wants the best for you. Someone seems to be getting aggressive with you and especially a strange man? Hell no he's stepping in and telling them off. He seems like someone who'll try to avoid conflict but won't be too scared to make a scene if he has too. He just wants you to be safe and happy more than anything.

Idk I just don't see Kai as someone who would be overly protective or possessive. He's the last one who would be getting into conflict in public about something and probably re-direct you somewhere else if someone is making you uncomfortable to get you away and forget about it while the other boyfriends deal with it lol. He'd prefer to distract you and let you know that you're safe. It's easier to protect you that way.

PDA with them is different

Yeonjun likes PDA, just not sucking faces and groping ofc. Things like hand holding, cheek kissing or little pecks on lips, hugging, simple things.

Soobin is more on the low with it, physical affection in general. Mostly hand holding or hand around waist. Prefers it private.

Def good at comforting but in different ways

Yeonjun is a little too calming, me thinks. like, he's too good but he's great for times you wanna forget reality, be pampered and adored and cared for n not really have to worry about anything but also not feel like a child or baby. Lots of cuddles and kisses.

Soobin is the perfect amount of calming, very gentle and a soothing voice while talking to you. Lots of cuddles and affection and offers you food, drinks, anything you need he'll get you. intertwines your hands together and does the thumb thing while giving you comforting words.

Beomgyu has such a comforting presence, me thinks. Gets you your favorite snacks, foods, drinks, lets you in his comfortable clothes with his cologne on it, probably try and make you crack a smile. But he'll let you lay on him and lean on him for support and he's a good listener too ! Will hold you for as long as you need.

Taehyun is also a great listener and doesn't mind listening to your problems if you have anything to say, he wants you to trust him and be comfortable with him. A little quieter but doesn't leave your side and if he's getting something for you, you're coming with him. Watched your favorite movies and comfort shows, etc. he's just really good at making the situation and environment comfortable for you and safe. Also soft spoken n looks at you so fondly.

Hueningkai wants to see you smile again, hates seeing you sad or cry, his heart aches. He'll try and lighten the mood and make you giggle or smile. Cuddles the sadness out of you, smothers you in affection and lets you do whatever you want if it makes you feel better. Dress him up, put makeup on him, watch a show you love and he hates but he won't complain, spend his money on food, doesn't matter! If it makes you happy, he's happy.
