question of the year: how to stop becoming attached to fictional characters, experience the strongest brain rot because of them and be ready to die for them?

I know i said I’d be posting live reactions and memes about The Lunar Chronicles spin offs but I’m halfway through The Mirror Visitor: A Winter’s promise and I have so many thoughts.

I need to talk about how good the character designs are in The Mirror Visitor

The way the characters are described just sounds so real. Most of the characters aren’t conventionally attractive. They’re just normal people. Each character has a their own unique silhouette, body type, and style. One of my favorite character designs is Ophelia’s mother. She has a plump figure and likes to wear brightly colored dresses. She not afraid of speaking her mind and is always the center of attention. All of this information combined leads Debros to describe Ophelia’s mother as “a candy jar.” This description instantly put a smile on my face. It perfectly describes all the sweet, old, big, vivacious, and sometimes a sour women in my life that make me feel loved with their maternal nature. I wish more books would portray mothers this way instead of just making them a milf or a slightly older clone of their child. (Nothing against milfs tho).

Ophelia from Christelle Dabos’ The Mirror Visitor series. Highly recommended. Also my first painting done entirely in Procreate. Hmm.
