You know how therapists say - at least tiktok ones :/ - that to be ready for a relationship you have to break off your imaginary ones first ? Well for me - and many people I’m sure - it is complicated to say goodbye to thousand that much fictive lives and lovers… Especially when it’s the only way I get to fall asleep, making up fake scenarios.
I dream so much about love, I’ve got to have it in some way, no ? Be it with fictional characters, celebrities, voice actors or even made up characters, I have to dream about a significant other loving up on me. Am I exposing myself too much ? Yes, yes I am … :/ But, f*ck it.
It is really easy to imagine a life with a celebrity as they are public personalities and we know so much about their lives. Too much… Moreover, your brain - and heart - does not make the difference between real people and fictional ones. That’s why you can feel truly heartbroken when a character you’ve grown attached to is sad or dies. Real or not, it makes no difference when emotions are thrown into the mix…
→ The way I realized this was true is pretty embarrassing but I’ll tell you anyway… I was young - around 17 - and in a big as well as deep spiderman / Tom Holland period. So much that it was concerning… :/ Then, pictures of Zendaya and Tom kissing came out and their relationship was outed. And… *sigh* My first reaction was crying. I felt heartbroken but mostly pathetic and embarrassed to be affected so much by it. I was disgusted by myself, because I was crying over something - someone - that had nothing to do with me. Yet it was a true awakening. After that I stopped - or at least I think I did :/ - to get THIS attached to my dumb celebrity crushes.
It also made me realize something really important.
We don’t know who our celebrity crushes are, not really. What we see of them is only through media, dramas, speculations… Their images are controlled and a source of income for many - *cough cough* paparazzis :/. Sadly, they don’t have the chance to live freely, away from camera lenses…
And we, their fandom, play a part in their objectification. It’s important to know that the person we have a crush on, write fictions about and obsess over is a made up version of them. It’s only how we picture them, how we’d like them to be. Not how they are, because we don’t know. We can’t know. And we shouldn’t, because they have a right to privacy.
We don’t know them, exactly how they don’t know each one of us.
So now, I see it more like having a crush on a fictional character. Because that’s what they become. They have made up lives and personalities. It’s fake, it’s fictional. And it’s okay. I think it’s better than knowing every detail and overstepping boundaries in their busy and stressful lives. It might be okay to admire and be attracted to them, but it definitely isn’t if we don’t respect that they stay humans and that in their place we wouldn’t want our lives to be invaded by strangers.
Nevertheless, drawing this conclusion makes me feel even more lonely. Plus, all these imagination filled scenarios definitely don’t help to have a realistic idea of love. I feel bound to be disappointed by life and love - especially by men :/. That’s the problem with overthinking, dreaming and projecting too much… You always end up falling from the high cloud you set yourself on.
Maybe one day I’ll find “the one” - whoever it may be or if they even exist. Only time will tell, for now I’ll try and deal with the loneliness.

Nanami is an object of aesthetic contemplation for me and I adore her design. Especially the hair, the eyes, the color of her skin and… the hands. Look at how graceful they are and how neatly Rui drew them. The long arms only add to the effect of elegance.
About Chiaki flaws in DR3
Fandom is convinced that Chiaki in DR3 is perfect and has no flaws, but that's absolutely not true. She has quite a few flaws. And one of them is her painful attachment to Hinata.
Don't misunderstand. I'm not going to criticize hinanami. I want to examine Chiaki love for Hinata in a more objective, realistic way. Discuss her love as a facet of her character.
Obviously, hinanami also works as a starter to intensify the dramatic tone in the final episodes. Basically, the human Nanami is a romantic and lyrical heroine whose love becomes the main motif. But what if you look at it from the perspective of a mere teenager?
Nanami and Hinata acquaintance is spontaneous. Just because of one game. However, it's enough for Chiaki to go after Hajime after school. To which Hajime himself was surprised.
Chiaki is a bit of an imposition. She abruptly violates Hajime personal space (incidentally, this destroys the stereotype of Nanami shy) without asking permission and insistently leads him away to play, which leaves Hajime confused and shocked.
No. Chiaki is not a Yandere. Rather, her behavior illustrates the all-consuming loneliness she has had to face. There was no one person who could share her interests. And when Chiaki finds that person, it is as if she has an obsessive fear of losing him, so she begins to behave persistently.
This suggests that the loneliness has taken its toll on her mental health. She is very withdrawn, but secretly dreams of a friend. Chiaki in DR3 is not just a sweet and kind girl. She is a broken and deeply unhappy (at first) person who tries to save herself through escapism (video games).
Because of her lack of emotional support, Chiaki quickly and strongly becomes attached to others. This takes a bit of a radical turn. It is especially noticeable in her attitude toward Hajime.
I think Chiaki had cold parents. And of course Chisa becomes a mother figure to her, who mentors and reveals Chiaki's abilities. It was Chisa who helped give Chiaki what she always wanted (friends).
I think most people would stop waiting for a man who left you for a year without explaining anything. But Chiaki persists in waiting. Hinata has become the dearest and closest person to her. Hinata was probably the only one who could quench Chiaki emotional hunger, which had been building up over the years. She is very afraid of losing Hinata. This fear suggests that she has become dependent on Hinata. Is this a manifestation of "perfection"? It's more an indication of how broken Chiaki is inside.
I've seen many people rightly criticize Chiaki act while trying to save Chisa. Chiaki being the leader made no attempt to secure the class or involve the police. And I suspect that such haste might have been because of Hinata. Chiaki wanted to meet him so badly that she forgot about everything else. Her emotional dependence on Hinata was the reason for her tragic outcome. The moment when Nanami goes to certain dungeons with her class in search of her teacher is indicative. Despite the whole situation, she is in high spirits, even though Peko and Nagito almost paid with their lives earlier. One could be reduced to optimism, but before that, Chiaki was walking around in a depressed state and giving only forced smiles. It's worth mentioning that this happens AFTER meeting Hajime (Izuru).
Nanami motivation and actions are perceived too lopsidedly by the fandom. Everyone is convinced that she's a kind and good girl, just because. It's her role, after all. To help everyone. Looking deeper into the issue, it turns out that it's not that clear-cut.
Chiaki is ruthless against criminals and does not buy their sob stories. This is coupled with her duty as the "keeper of order" on the island. A student has crossed the line, killed, and become a potential danger to others. What's to be done? That's right, get him executed in court, there's no other way. It doesn't matter how well they communicated before.
She did not create "comfort" and peace on the island. Chiaki always put others in a fighting mood. "We must fight while we can," is her quote. She realizes that empty talk of friendshipmagic will have no effect.
She accepted the rules of the survival game, and under such conditions "world peace" is out of the question. This is indicated by the moment of Nagito's strangulation. While everyone was staring at the scene, Chiaki was the one who calmed Owari down. And in what way? She hit the Akane.
The reason they call Nanami a "goddess" is her self-sacrifice. But can it be considered an act to please the world? It is worth recalling that she did not save ordinary people, but horrible murderers and terrorists who left the world on the brink of collapse. What guarantee was there that they, waking up from neoworld, would not go on killing? Chiaki put the whole world at risk, just because of her duty. So that at least some of the Remnants of Despair could be rehabilitated. Or rather, there was only hope for that. Of course, in Ronpa, hope always wins out, but throwing off the tropes, such an act seems selfish. Particularly since the 77class began to kill each other even without Junko's influence. It was their will. Consequently, the treatment plan failed, and the students were still a danger.
