LMFAO I am of the former. I love my oneshots, I love my oneshots series if someone has to be expanded upon (for my own sanity), and multi chaps are so difficult? And for no reason?
ao3 writers are either *90% of works are short oneshots* or *physically incapable of writing a oneshot, everything must be expanded upon*
I can confirm this as someone who only writes one shots 🙃

Any suggestions for a SFW or even NSFW alphabet?
Thinking about for quite a bit and now I'm taking genshin impact character suggestions! So if you want to see a complete ( I try it at least) alphabet of those two (either SFW or NSFW) of a special character just drop it in my ask box!
Writing tips/reminders that help me actually write
Characters are not the same thing as people, you don't need to show every scene and they don't need to be hyper "realistic", they just have to move your story
A character's purpose should be known before personality. Take your plot, think of the different perspectives in it, turn those perspectives into people, give those people roles, THEN give them a personality based on their roles.
ITS NOT ABOUT WHAT OTHER PEOPLE WANT YOU TO WRITE
Dialogue is very very very important, use it, and make it affect (effect???) your characters
Know how to describe your plot in one or two sentences.
You should probably learn the difference between affect and effect but ehhhhhhh
Let things happen, if what you planned doesn't make sense for a character then change the plan. CHARACTERS ARE BASED AROUND YOUR IDEA FOR THE PLOT BUT THE CHARACTERS DRIVE THE PLOT
Create conflict between your characters!!!! And make them fight over something, not just fight.
Create an outline and edit the outline until it flows. This will save you soooooo much time.
Base your backstories on personalities, come up with the beliefs they need first and then go back and figure out why
POV MATTERS A LOT
Experiment with different writing processes, there is no one way to write.
And be kind to yourself, remember it's not supposed to be easy, it's normal to not know what to do. Writer's block will always happen to anyone and it definitely doesn't make you less of a writer.
I’m only one small step away from posting this fic. The step? Write it.

*rereads the one paragraph that was written two weeks ago*
"I think I made a lot of progress today."
“MAN THIS STORY I’M WRITING IS GONNA BE SO GOOD I’M SO PUMPED”
“I CAN’T WAIT TO DEVELOP THE SHIT OUT OF THESE CHARACTERS”
“HOT DAMN THAT ONE SCENE NEAR THE MIDDLE IS GONNA BE BITCHIN’”
“THIS PLOT TWIST IS THE SINGLE BEST IDEA I’VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE”
~one hour later~
when Lemony Snicket wrote “I will love you if I never see you again, and I will love you if I see you everyday” that hurt me
“You’re not a monster,” I said. But I lied. What I really wanted to say was that a monster is not such a terrible thing to be. From the Latin root monstrum, a divine messenger of catastrophe, then adapted by the Old French to mean an animal of myriad origins: centaur, griffin, satyr. To be a monster is to be a hybrid signal, a lighthouse: both shelter and warning at once.”
