I spent so much time forced to live in distrust of the people around me that nowadays I am almost incapable of believing in people. It also doesn't help that I seem to experience the same types of traumatic events

There is difference between avoiding politics and not knowing they exist. But why avoiding politics is important to know especially if type person cut someone off is not know.

Some people (like Amy) don’t understand politics. They know is a thing, and (maybe) has a small understanding. But the more complicated things make no sense, so just naturally avoid topic of politics.

Other people don’t know they exist, that is okay thing. Many reason don’t know why exist, and in personal opinion, if they don’t know, they don’t know. The reason why don’t know isn’t your business. They don’t have to tell you why don’t know if don’t want to, can’t hate on them for standing their grounds and saying no.

Is not living under rock if not able understand. Some of us tried to learn and just couldn’t understand past the simple things. Other only understand the simple things and know trying to learn the complicated things wouldn’t work so just don’t try. Others can’t understand the simple and complicated things. That is not problem!! Shouldn’t drop someone just because can’t understand.

Shouldn’t drop someone if don’t want learn politics. Doesn’t determine your worth, promise
