or god forbid, AFTER Lilith dies and they’re somehow still angels (Lucifer was too heartbroken and fearful to rebel anymore once Lilith dies; he cannot afford to lose another member of his found and chosen family. He surrenders and comes back on his knees, begging for his family to not be hurt.) and they realize that this was why Lilith chose to go against their father.

Lucifer who is so, so bitter against humanity but unable to blame them. Lucifer who knows you cannot blame the lambs for a Shepard led astray. Lucifer who’s broken and full of self hatred for what he’s done to his family by letting his sister go down to the human realm. Lucifer who would rather have been the villain to his brothers and beloved youngest sister than lost the little Angel who had worked her way into he and his brothers’ hearts. Lucifer who doesn’t let it show and carries on because he cannot afford to mess up (he would never forgive himself if he lost another). Lucifer who hardens up and bears his brothers’ hatred towards him for his apathy, because he would rather cry alone than let his brothers see him so broken. Lucifer who then meets you. Lucifer who can stop being infallible and relax for once in his life when in your company. Lucifer complaining about his duties for once in his life because with you, he is not a Seraph or oldest brother but a man, flawed and vulnerable, and he never knew how much he needed someone like you until you were already in his life. Lucifer meeting you and falling for you and fucking terrified, because he knows what is coming. Lucifer who knows that his brothers wouldn’t survive losing him, and who knows that the Celestial Realm in itself would fall into peril if he follows in his sister’s footsteps, and yet can’t help but fall into your embrace any time he has time to spare. Lucifer who knows that he might fall, but that it’s worth it if it’s for you.

Mammon, falling apart at the seams trying to keep his family sewn together. Mammon hurting and shouldering the hurt his brothers suffer from. Mammon who wonders if anything he might have done would have mattered in the end, or if it would be pointless anyways with how big of a fuck up he is. Mammon who cries at night because why would she do this? Why would she give everything up for a single mortal? Mammon who then he meets you and no longer wonders why Lilith did what she did, because he would die for you too. Mammon who knows that he has a safe place and that that safe place is you. Mammon who knows that he doesn’t have to be strong with you. Mammon who, with you, isn’t his brothers’ shoulder to cry on, or Lucifer’s only confidant. Mammon who, with you, is allowed to be hurting and weak. Allowed to express his grief. Mammon knowing that you are a place where he’s allowed to cry and scream and fall apart, because he knows you will take him into your arms and put him back together again. Mammon who wouldn’t know what to do if one day you weren’t okay. Mammon who knows Lucifer won’t survive him falling. Mammon who tries to keep you a secret but he’s never been good at keeping secrets from his older brother, especially not when Lucifer notices that Mammon can finally smile again.

Leviathan blaming himself for being so useless all the time. Leviathan who knows that it’s his fault Lilith died. Leviathan should have seen the signs, should have talked to her, should of gotten up and done something good in his life for once. Leviathan who thinks he will never forgive himself, or ever stop hating himself. Leviathan who spends his days full of bitterness and hate towards himself. Leviathan who thinks maybe it would have been better if he had died instead. And then Leviathan who meets you. Leviathan who meets you and all of a sudden whatever he does is something to be worth celebrating. Leviathan who is always enough for you. Leviathan who is worthy and is loveable and thinks he can learn to love himself if it means seeing what you see in him. Leviathan who finds a new purpose in life which is to live and love, all for you. Leviathan whose brothers see him smiling for the first time in forever because he is no longer filled with the guilt of what he could have done. Leviathan who knows that no matter what he might have tried, he could have never have changed his sister’s mind, because he, too, would go against his father if it meant being loved like this for only a second longer.

Satan who is formed in battle and raised in bloodshed. Satan who is treated like a monster despite being just as much as an Angel as the rest of his brothers. Satan whose wrath is constantly boiling and writhing beneath his skin, ready to come out at a moment’s notice. Satan who only keeps his anger in check because his fear is greater than his wrath. Satan who knows that Michael is always watching, and that he is one passive aggressive comment away from another punishment. Satan who wakes up screaming from nightmares of a life he never lived. Satan who sees how other angels look at him, and sees his brothers try their best to love him but it’s so hard when you’re grieving to learn to love another. Satan who’s fucking miserable and wishes that the sister he knows almost nothing about had been stronger than her love for a human, because he can’t fucking stand it in this place. But then Satan meets you. And suddenly he is more than Wrath and he is worth loving. He is passionate and kind and his own fucking person. He is more than Lucifer’s ugliness. He is love and grief and anger and joy and all the little things that were never said but felt tenfold. Satan who has never met his sister but for once understands her, because he, too, would do anything for your love.

Asmodeus who doesn’t know who he is anymore. Asmodeus who was once the Jewel of the Heavens but now can see nothing but ugliness in his bloodstained hands. (Lilith’s blood and blame taints him; if only he had known, maybe he could have fixed this.) Asmodeus who sees his brothers struggling and runs away from it all because he doesn’t want this to be his new reality. The past is his only solace and he chooses to live in it rather than embrace the present. Asmodeus who has never felt so hideous and ugly as a person until now. Asmodeus who only learns to feel beautiful again once you come into the picture. Asmodeus, who, usually so meticulous about his appearance, (it’s the only thing he has control over nowadays. he is a wreck in the inside but refuses to let it show. his smile is perfect and his skin is soft, and he wishes he could heal his mind like he heals his once cracked nails.) lets your clumsy hands fix his hair into a messy and lopsided braid. Asmodeus who learns how it feels to be loved in every aspect, wholly and unconditionally, all because of you. Asmodeus who lets his real laugh out (ugly and loud) and feels mortified only for his worries to melt away when he sees your smile full of fondness and adoration directed at him once more. Asmodeus who sees why Lilith fell, and sees why her love for humanity mattered more than her life. Asmodeus who loves you more than he loves his white wings. Asmodeus who would fall if it meant getting to spend a night in your bed, doing nothing but holding each other in your arms and whispering secrets between smiles.

Beelzebub who is a failure. Beelzebub who knows he will never forgive himself. Beelzebub who finds himself screaming in his head more often than not these days, who finds that his sleep is often plagued with nightmares and he would rather stay awake until he cannot. Beelzebub whose bed feels empty with only Belphie in it. Beelzebub who misses Lilith with his heart and soul. Beelzebub who feels Belphie’s hatred growing by the day and is terrified because he doesn’t know what to do. Beelzebub who doesn’t know whether to tell Lucifer and risk harm coming to Belphie or let his brother suffer and suffocate in his hatred. Beel who was supposed to protect his family and failed so badly that they will never be the same because of it. Beelzebub who sees your soft smile and sobs because for once in his life he is the one being protected. Beelzebub who lets you wipe his ever-coming stream of tears away and wipe his face with a wet cloth. Beelzebub who melts into you when you hold him ever so gently. Beelzebub who feels so, so, small in your arms, and for once doesn’t mind. Beelzebub who doesn’t know how Belphegor would react if he found out about you but is willing to do whatever it takes to protect you. Beelzebub who is willing to follow Lilith’s footsteps if something ever happened to you, regardless of if he comes out of it alive or not.

Belphegor who is broken. Belphegor who is consumed by hatred for humanity for taking his sister away. Belphegor who doesn’t know why Beel chose him over Lilith. Belphegor who doesn’t know what to do anymore. Belphegor who finds he cannot sleep anymore because all that comes to his head is his sister’s last breaths. Belphegor who cannot forgive himself for being the reason for Lilith’s death. Belphegor who screams and sobs into his twin brother’s arms because it is so unfair that this had happened to their family of all people. Belphegor who dreams of blood filling his lungs instead of Lilith’s. Belphegor who wishes he had died instead. Belphegor who escaped to the human world to visit his and Lilith’s secret spot and finds you instead. Belphegor who is ready to kill but falls apart instead when you tell him that his eyes are full of grief. Belphegor who lets you take him in your arms and rock him to sleep. Belphegor who sleeps peacefully for the first time since Lilith’s death in your gentle arms. Belphegor who falls for your gentleness in the way you approach him and his grief and decides that you are too good and kind to kill. Belphegor who falls so hard that he is disgusted with himself for ever hating a species that is so wonderful that it created you. Belphegor who knows why Lilith died, now, because he thinks he would too, if it meant being with you. Belphegor who talks to Lilith in his dreams and tells her that she would be happy, knowing he had found someone as wonderful as yourself. Belphegor who learns to forgive, both humanity and himself.
