If Dragons Rising erases Pixal from existence I’ve decided its because they knew she would be too powerful. Imperium’s whole thing is using tech for evil reasons, you think Pixal wouldn’t blow the place up from the inside in, what, a month? You think she wouldn’t hear about how technologically superior Imperium boasts themselves to be and immediately crack her knuckles and decide she was going to upstage them as dramatically as physically possible? i've been thinking about starting a series of little snapshots from movies, of scenes or quotes that remind me of scriptures.

Star Wars definitely has touches of mysticism and religions of that nature (i.e. a balance between light and darkness), but even as a kid watching the OG trilogy, i felt like the Biblical comparisons were important too. the Force is like the Holy Spirit, who (when accepted into our being) is an invisible guide, protector, and comforter. the Jedi's situation in the Prequels reminds me of the Pharisees from Jesus' day. they let their rules and traditions blind them into essentially working for the Sith. And most importantly, Luke's message that anyone is capable of returning to the light is incredibly Biblical. just as Anakin is redeemed after so many years of darkness, anyone can be redeemed by believing on Jesus as their redeemer, no matter what they've done.

It’s jarring seeing how young Anakin and Ahsoka are in live action,and that’s the point. You look at these two babies,responsible for hundreds if not thousands of men in the middle of a war zone,with blaster fire reigning down,and you think oh god they’re children. And it’s not the Jedi’s fault,it’s exactly as Anakin says,it’s fight or die. They didn’t want war,to raise their padawans on battlefields or change the entire purpose of their order from keepers of the peace to soldiers.But the Separatists don’t fight fair,and certainly not Sidious backing it all. They pull unwilling planets into war they want no part of,and murder innocent civilians,and conquer entire systems in the name of “freedom and justice.”

The fact is this isn’t a war involving hundreds or thousands,it’s billions upon billions. It’s entire star systems and planets of families and children. The Separatists poison welled entire planets and THAT is what’s on the line for the Jedi. Not politics or the ideals of the Republic,but billions of people they’re meant to protect. And they don’t have a choice,not really,they have their own children on battlefields because of it,because it’s fight or die. And there’s no winning for the Jedi posted out in the field,because they are few and stretched laughably thin,and stuck between saving civilians and taking care of their own men in hopeless situations. They die doing it,one after the other. For a galaxy that turns on them and swallows down Sidious’s poison to believe they were to blame,that it was all their fault and they were greedy and warmongering.

Jedi padawans,children,fought to survive on battlefields,because they had to and for an order sworn on protection,there was no other choice. But as Anakin says,that is not their legacy,and it is not all they are. The Jedi are not the Clone Wars,and they are not children on battlefields,they are more than that. They are sacrifice,and selflessness,and hope,and giving everything for a galaxy that turns its back on them. They are enduring love,endless love.

where’s the au where din picks up a bounty on luke set up by some sketchy old imperials with a vengeance and he’s very confused why no other bounty hunters have jumped on the job because the dudes are offering an astronomical amount of credits, this seems like a sick gig??? It’s literally just a guy! greef karga tries to talk him out of it bc ‘there’s no way anyone can ever cash in on this bounty, even you mando. he’s a jedi’ and din’s all ‘what’s a jedi? I’ve never heard of that race before. What language do they speak?’ 

and then when he finally tracks luke down hes like ‘this blond shorty? this is who y’all are afraid of?’ and then luke disarms him and has him on his back in 10 seconds flat, a green lightsaber at his neck and suddenly din’s all ‘oh…’ and idk they defeat the imperials together and fall in love blah blah blah im just really interested in that first moment when din realizes luke is actually fucking powerful and decides right then ‘im going to marry this blond space monk- im going to marry him so hard’

I could literally hear their voices when I read this part of the book
