Since I've read his books, my view of reality has become a little more relaxed because nothing is as crazy as reality.
It would be funny if a hyperspace bypass were really built and our planet had to give way. It's a bit like cutting down the rainforest to make way for a ring road - all the creatures would have to go too.
I liked the series from the 80s just as much as the last Hitchhiker's film.
However, the books are a real treat of absurd alternative realism.

In my religion (and most other religions) certain numbers have certain meanings. So I’m probably far behind everyone else figuring this out, but I thought it was interesting and wanted to share it with you. 4- order 8- resurrection or regeneration 15- rest 16- love 23- trust in the universe 42- creation 108- wholeness of existence I also think that it’s interesting that 4 8 15 16 23 & 42 has to be entered into the computer in the hatch and then the time resets to 108 minutes.
