Is it just me or did Nicky literally switch personalities??

In the Foxhole Court, he was making r-word jokes, kissed Neil without consent, and apparently talked about how much he wanted to sleep with Neil in German

But in The Raven King and the King's Men, he's a loving and devoted boyfriend to Eric, even without Eric actually present and he's less predatory towards Neil and just seems to be an all-around amazing guy.

Or am I just crazy??

You want to know what I just realized? How do Andrew’s arms not get all itchy and sweaty when tight armbands with knives underneath are literally on him 24 hours a day? Is it explained in the books?

Like I bet he’s always relieved taking them off and can finally run his arms under water and wash them with soap and shit. It’s probably his equivalent of taking off a tight bra after a long day or something, idk.

Also I haven’t read the books in a while so I’m so sorry if he wears them to hide his scars and I just forgot I just had a thought and wanted to share it. I like thinking about Andrew Minyard experiencing human inconveniences

The Foxes Playing Pass the Phone

(Andrew is sitting back and enjoying the show of finding out his teammates are fucking idiots again)

Kevin: I’m passing the phone to the person who used sarin wrap to dye their hair because we didn’t have tin foil

Renee: Ok, I can admit to my mistakes. And it was 3 am. I’m passing the phone to the person who studied law for a year only to find out that, no, you can’t actually sue someone who refused to give you lemonade at a lemonade stand.

Aaron: It was only two months and that kid was a fucking prick. I’m passing the phone to the person who thought that incest was an organ.

Neil: Yeah, ok, I was wrong. It’s a disease. I’m passing the phone to the person who thinks they can sing and that everyone wants to hear them belting the Star Spangled Banner at one in the morning.

Allison: You all just can’t handle my angelic vocal cords I see. I’m passing the phone to the person who flirted with a lifeguard and almost drowned because of it.

Nicky: He was hot okay?? I’m passing the phone to the person who asked why we can’t just print more money.

Matt: And I still didn’t get an answer, dickhead. I’m passing the phone to the person who thought they could be in Frozen on Ice and proceeded to twist their ankle the second they stepped onto the ice.

Dan: Listen, I needed a backup in case Exy didn’t work, alright. I’m passing the phone to the person who caffeine crashed the day we had a playoff match against the Trojans and nearly had to sit out

Kevin: It was one time and I bitched my way through it

Neil: *mocks Andrew’s salute*

Andrew’s mind:

To me, it's fascinating how hell-bent Andrew is about protecting his people; people he didn't even know about for half his life. He gave up Cass - the one good thing he thought he could have - in a second when he found out about Aaron. He moved in with Nicky; a strange, older man who he had never met before, because Nicky could give a home to his brother (tbh I don't think Andrew even thought about himself in that scenario). He took in Kevin, and later on, Neil. And all that for what? For someone to keep near, someone to see him as useful, as important. Someone to give him purpose.

Oh right, this was supposed to be a question. Thoughts?

Oooooo honestly that’s a really great question! My memory of the exact timeline might be a bit all over the place so I could be wrong or misremembering, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it had something to do with Andrew immediately suspecting that their bio mom (Tilda I think her name was?) was abusing Aaron.

I think there’s a possibility that Andrew was able to see parts of himself in Aaron, no matter how much he might deny it.

I think that, for the first time, Andrew met someone who was at least somewhat familiar with the pain he himself had endured and decided that keeping Aaron safe above all else, was more important than his possible future with Cass. The fact that they were brothers probably added to that sentiment, but Andrew would’ve probably made the same decision even if they weren’t.

And from there Andrew attempted to carve out a home for himself surrounded by the people he chose to let in.

Maybe during that time he started to understand that he could have some semblance of a family without Cass, without having to endure what he did in order to keep her. Maybe he was so determined to keep his chosen family that he felt he needed to prove his worth in order to make them stay?

aaron listens to taylor swift (courtesy of katelyn) his favourite albums are folklore and ttpd, he is also a phoebe bridgers enjoyer

katelyn loves taylor swift, olivia rodrigo, sabrina carpenter, madison beer, all the pop girlies

andrew listens to heavy metal and hard rock and occasionally a girlypop glitter gel pen song but no one (except maybe neil) will ever know (he'd probably like arctic monkeys, paramore and exclusively get him back! by olivia rodrigo)

kevin fucks heavily with tchaikovsky, shostakovich and vivaldi (he's just like me fr)

jean probably doesn't know a lot of modern music but is getting into some modern sad songs (courtesy of the trojans; some of his favourites are folklore/evermore/ttpd songs, gracie abrams, the grudge and logical by olivia, phoebe bridgers, billie eilish, mitski, lana del rey, laufey and conan gray)

kevin also probably likes mitski and lana if we're talking modern music

neil is forced to listen to modern music with the foxes and the only artists he'll admit to kind of liking are the neighbourhood and some lana

renee would probably enjoy beabadoobee, laufey, clairo and bruno mars (and jazz/indie in general)

jeremy, cat and laila have pretty similar music tastes (fairly mainstream, mostly pop; taylor, ariana, olivia, sabrina, a bit of maisie peters, harry styles, CHAPPELL ROAN, and one direction sue me)
