GRRM writing female characters: l want to explore the depths of woman. Femininity is so complex and really is at the core of any female character, especially in a medieval system driven by the patriarchy. I want to explore that I want to write women as people so here have a widowed mother who’s watching her teen son become a king and she ends up helping his downfall not because she’s malicious but because she’s his mother and was trying to protect him. And here’s two sister wives who arguably were more influential than their brother and husband and king. And here’s a canonically ugly teenager who’s trying to find her place in the world when she can fit into neither the category of lady or knight. Here are two young sisters both using their specific strengths to survive in environments that wants them dead. I am so good at complex women.
Also GRRM writing female characters: look at this beautiful young lady no one is hotter than her. Men from all over the world chase after her hand. A bastion of grace and class and elegance. Built by the gods themselves to bless this earth. Look here she is getting married and being a dutiful wife and mother. What’s that, you want to learn more about the intricacies of her character? I just told you. She’s the hottest girl in the seven kingdoms and she’s a good wife. Also she’s twelve.

I love this type of character, especially if they are female. In this case we have a great combo, so I tried to portray her martial character. I've never liked drawing clothes, I'll be honest, but everything went smoothly here, and I even enjoyed the process.

The amount of disrespect HOTD decided to show yet another woman is just....wow. Alyssa Targaryen was an absolute badass who had a loving and healthy relationship with her husband and loved her sons. And this fucking show decided to just do that with her in order to further demonize Daemon.
Over and over this show just completely fucks over the complex and amazing women GRRM wrote. Alyssa being turned into a sexual object to make Daemon appear in a certain light is so disgusting, even aside from the Oedipus complex thing. It's misogynistic and fucking revolting. Even in death the women of HOTD can't escape.

What was the point of Daemon/Alyssa exactly? To show how disgusting HotD is? Not even Dumb and Dumber would write a parent/child scene and they wrote a lot of fucked up stuff.
It's simply there to make Daemon look awful and to drag out this show unnecessarily. The writers are spending such a ridiculous amount of time with Daemon fucking around in Harrenhal just so they can get more time without spending time on other important characters. Rhaena, for example, is getting absolutely nothing, even though they're clearly setting her up for Nettles' arc.
So basically the purpose is to be shitty, anon. Some people might try to mask it with pseudo-intellectualism, but that's the truth of it.
Not TG fans thinking Alyssa Targaryen would support Aegon??? Because ‘she is a boy mom’????? And who do you think are the boys she's mom to are? Rhaenyra's two big supporters. Alyssa had two living sons Daemon and Viserys, those two loved Rhaenyra to no end. Alyssa for a fact would stand with her sons before anyone else.
Baelon as well, Rhaenyra was his only living grandchild, who came after miscarriages and stillbirths. And a girl too, this man is said to have wanted a daughter. He was a mama's boy, always by his mother's side till her death. Loved this dead wife for years, till his last breath. Loved her more than life itself.
