I love Remus being tall but so lanky and skinny with literally no muscle on his body because he’s literally a nerd and hates exercising he will literally die if he has to do a push-up. Sirius is big and buff and tall (almost as tall as Remus is, fight me) and he has stubble and tattoos and HE IS THE ONE THAT GETS ANGRY and he plays quidditch and he fight and hates authority.
I saw a post with sapphic WolfStar (which is great, don’t get me wrong!) where *Remus* is the big buff butch and *Sirius* is the tiny little femme?? Like no Remus’ fragile little bones (thank you full moon and bad genes— I am a firm believer that he needed a cane by the time he graduated because of all that) would shatter if he tried to lift anything other than a stack of books and his chocolate because he’s so soft.
Sirius is canonically so smart too, but that’s always butchered, as well?? Like he was described as brilliant by literally everyone????? Bro was a straight O student and no one can convince me otherwise. Remus is always made to be the one helping Sirius so he doesn’t fail but, in cannon, it was *Sirius* that helped teach *Remus*, who is a halfblood and therefore didn’t know as much about magic, how to do things. Honestly I hate what everyone is doing to them.
Jegulus also makes no sense and, while it’s not a dealbreaker if it shows up (mostly because if it was I would have to drop a billion fics), I don’t like it and it’s WAY too prevalent.
i think maybe the reason the portrayal of remus in the marauders fandom in the last few years is so upsetting to me is that the reason i got into this fan base was because of how much i related to him. i started getting into the fandom when remus was still a skinny gay book nerd who was shy but funny and sweet and endlessly loyal. wolfstar was soft love and more about fluffy-teeth-rotting moments between remus and sirius.
now we have buff alpha bad boy remus who can’t read and tiny twink sirius with a full face (including lashes) and a mini skirt.
genuinely what happened to classic wolfstar? what happened to rowdy punk rock sirius with his band t shirts and leather jacket and stubble? where’s soft, lanky remus?
in attempting to wrestle wolfstar away from jkr you’ve stripped remus and sirius of all of their defining characteristics that made them so interesting in the first place. they’ve lost all characterization and relatability in exchange for this horny,booktok, smut-obsessed bullshit i can’t escape from.
so yeah, i’m not a fan of modern wolfstar.

Remus John Lupin is a dorky nerd in tweed and cardigans who is only strong enough to carry books around, and lets everyone walk all over him, and cries when people go on discriminatory tangents about werewolves/queer people, and makes Sirius help him study, and folds his underwear/socks, and drowns in jumpers that are too big because he’s so skinny that he has to choose between them being long enough or tight enough, and he’s always cold, and he has back joint/back pain, and has a snort-laugh, and a little overbite you can only see when he smiles, and his clothes have elbow/knee patches, and he never gets angry because he’s so scared of being a monster

so, sure, lily and james were heterosexual-appearing in the books/films (their sexuality is never stated outright though, meaning they could be bisexual, pansexual, etc.), but fans HEADCANON that they were with other people. are you still following? we’re not saying that it’s true, it’s just a headcanon we have about the characters.
as for ‘justifying regulus being a fascist’? he escaped the c*lt. he was raised from the moment he was born on these ideologies. they were all he knew. even at school, his pureblood friends reinforced the ideas. and yet, somehow, on his own, he not only leaves the death eaters but betrays them in such a major way that allows them to be defeated. does that make sense? he CANONICALLY left and even turned on the fascists, proving he is not one.
finally, telling people they deserve to d*e over their little headcanons in their head is very fucking extreme, don’t you think? what if someone takes that seriously and actually self-exit? people are actually seriously mentally ill, and telling someone that they deserve to die - directly or not - is so unbelievably fucked up, ESPECIALLY over fictional characters in a fictional world.
moral of the story: if you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all.

Also the fact that some people also don’t understand the meaning of alternate universes is crazy. We aren’t justifying fascist Regulus we are using his character and the small amount of information we have about him to create our own stories.

I feel like if you say that Regulus and barty would not be good together because barty is too weird and evil and freaky for him, I don't think that you know Regulus. He's like odd and offputing and crazy too. Sometimes even more so, and he would want somebody to be like that, too. Like James is just too 'good' and sure he does pranks and can be a bully, he's not evil and crazy and weird. The only ships I could get behind with reg are ones where they're both evil and creepy and weird and obsessive, he needs and wants that. I don't think he'd always want to be coddled and babied.
Hi!!! I'm back with another mini rant for you guys. This is about the problems in our fandom relating to (mainly) the deatheaters. So I've been seeing two perspectives about barty, reg, and evan that I neither agree with. Before I start, just be kind and respectful to everyone with these perspectives, because we're all too mean to eachother and divided in this fandom. The first is kind of applied to every character which is, there's "no canon personalities or reason" behind these characters, and that everyone should be able to characterize however they want. I completely disagree with this, in the books we have SO MUCH content about the characters; ESPACIALLY barty, sirius, remus, james, lily, and reg, all of whom have canon characterizations. The others DO have stuff said about them, and we can use that stuff like we used to. With all of our characters, we must analyze them and think about how their actions reflect their personalities, beliefs, morals, etc. The main frustration is with (aside from wolfstar, but thats a whole other can of worms) the death eaters (barty, reg, and evan). People have characterized them as if they were FORCED to join and that they were secretly really good people. This brings me to the second perspective of this, people have been saying that we should absolutely HATE the death eaters and that it's stupid that they're popular. I think maybe these people are more (rightfully and I would agree) that people make them seem 'good' and specifically the whole issue of how out of character james and reg is. This is totally valid to be frustrated with the mischaracterizations of these characters and how it affects The Marauders + Lily. It's very annoying how people have turned reg into a second Lily, and then pushed Lily out of the way, when she makes SO much more sense. BUT BUT BUT, if these people are mad that characters who are villains and are HORRIBLE people are popular, I just have to ask if these people have been in other fandoms before? I just say that because villains are usually fan favourites in most fandoms. People like villains because they like that they do bad things, that they are morally grey, and literally just because it's fun. sometimes, it's annoying to like characters who are always good, and to characterize them other ways would be weird (im not talking about james being a bully or whatever, I'm talking about CRIMES). I don't think it would be a problem for our "villains" to be popular, as long as they ARE BAD. Stop making them babies who do no wrong. Stop pushing the main female character out of the way, for a ship that is out of character to the point where youre just making one character like another, (people make reg like lily, or james like barty, its weird)
I don't know, i just don't agree with barty, reg, and evan getting hate, when theyre not even being characterized right. The larger problem this stems from is just people making all of our characters OCs. Anyways, please everybody just be respectful to eachother, the block and uninterested buttons are right there(even though they can be quite stupid) I understand it's very very frustrating, but that's no excuse to be mean. And for those people who just characterize however they'd like (in the way of forgetting about things we know about them canonically because we "have no canon") please re-read the books or even watch the movies, and if you still don't care, please tag "out of character". I think it's really fun to interprate different, just not so much the character is unrecognized.
