Five years ago I set myself a goal: to #run a #10k. I started training and gradually increased my distance and pace. It was during this gradual training that I visited #NewYork in 2011. I arrived on a Friday night and was waiting for my friend to arrive in the afternoon of the next day. While waiting for him I decided that I'm finally ready to take on the big challenge and set out to circle #CentralPark, which just happens to be 10k. I could barely make it to 8k before giving up. Later that same year I finally managed to run a 10k back home, and I've been doing that almost every two weeks since. Still, that failure in Central Park one midsummer afternoon kept bugging me. I don't even know why — running around a park is not recently an incredible #achievement for the human race. Lots of people do it on a daily basis! Still, I really wanted to check that #experience off my #bucketlist. I'm incredibly #thrilled to having #accomplished that today! #🏃 (Yeah #yeah yeah, all the #hashtags 😛) (at Central Park)

Last month, I’m part of a creative prod for a music video and this one’s really fun and exciting because it’s Tanya Markova! Local musikero clowns in a band making songs with sad lyrics sound happy. They’re pretty catchy. You gotta look them up if you’re feeling a bit down, the songs have that uplifting spirit. It’s gonna make you feel all blue by understanding it word-by-word but eventually find yourself rocking your head unconsciously because of the beats, dancing your way outta shit sadness. Lol, true story.
How did the project go?
Funny because the director of the mv is also the head of the band who we used to collaborate with for an ost of a Cinemalaya 2016 film before, contacted me to work and paint for the visuals that Janus del Prado will use in the mv setup. I immediately said “g!”
Don’t want to spoil the whole concept but whatever Janus is illustrating, it becomes real. Magical that way! Exciting! Roxanne Barcelo is one of the leads also. I have not seen the music video itself, they had a launch last week in a gig, I couldn't go. Although, this one will be aired in MYX this month! Wait for it! :)

Included in my life checklist is to become a part of a music video and it was granted here, they dragged me to come along. So, yup, you’ll see me there with a minor part rolling my eyes at Janus. Looooool, fun.

I have said for years that I would love to visit this castle and believe me it is still on my bucket list! it is such a beautiful structure and looks like something from a fairy-tale. if I could gallivant about these castle grounds wearing a huge ball gown then I would. although I dare say I would get some strange looks :D
the fact that this picture is taken in autumn makes me want to go so much more because autumn followed closely by winter are the best seasons of the year, personally.

#TBT circa 2015, April. God's favor brought me to LA: I had won free registration to an urban youth leader conference @uywi , travel fee was 1/2 paid, free lodging with sis @heatherrgruber . It was my first time 1) flying solo 2) on the west coast 3) renting a car. Fam, the experience was CRAZY AMAZING. Got to walk the LA streets, smelling the citrus filled air from the lemon trees. I also met some of my favorite artists: @pray4jgivens @foreknown @djefechto @prophiphop @socialclubmisfits @ruslankd @b_reith @thomasjterry and they all were so personable and gracious with me. I really appreciated that and getting to learn from and converse with them. Finally, I went to Venice Beach when it was least occupied! —so much chill I was almost late for my flight 😅 I mad heavy wish I can go back soon! Togetherness (Opening of my new story)
Walking together under the night sky at 1 in the morning has always been a top agenda on our bucket list, my bucket list and his water tank list. So when we finally did good on our word about a visit to Crete Greece, something also on our list, we got out of our hotel around 12 a.m and started walking through the city admiring the quietness and serenity of the atmosphere. Hands almost touching, eyes widening at the amazing beauty of both natural and man made objects, lips curving up at occasional smiles from blithe remarks about some corny stuff which might or might not happen and our shadows cast by the moonlight intertwining into one made the togetherness almost picturesque. ~•~ It was 4 a.m when Aarnon decided to drop the news to me “I’m coming to Bangladesh tomorrow, Opal.” I was dumbstruck for a few minutes. The initial plan was to complete his study in Canada and then join his father in Saudi Arabia so when he casually told me of his return in the middle of our night chats, I was more than just surprised. In blatant honesty I was ecstatic and somewhat nervous. Aarnon and I have been friends for more than 5 years. We met on Facebook on an uneventful friendship day and that was the start of our friendship. It took us only a few months to start talking heart to heart and include sexual innuendos on an hourly basis. Our friendship was corny; it was both sweet and caring and was mostly virtual until about 2 months before he left for university. We had planned to meet because I wanted to give the idea of Aarnon a shape. I needed to touch his hands and look into his eyes and see the smile curve onto his face to refute the thought that he was not a figment of my imagination. It wasn’t awkward when we first met at the cafe and joked about being the perfect couple. We complimented each others company as perfectly as old red wines in wedding parties. I think we met up almost everyday before he left the country and twice he even took me to his home where I met his lovely sisters and mom. We both shared the same taste in almost everything from food to sports. And then one day he left for good with the promise to talk everyday and even through demanding schedules, he kept his word.
