After being tortured ALL WEEKEND (thank you very much everybody...) with pictures from @eatforeign, it's time for me to put out a few. Dining alone tonight, and starting off with a salmon fresh roll. Yuzu cured salmon, crème fraîche, gochujang. Really nice way to open...salmon actually has a good note of Yuzu, but not overpowering. Plate 3 @eatforeign: Mackerel "ca kho to", with daikon, shishito pepper and rice cake, served with coconut rice. This is a Vietnamese classic through and through, and punched up it looked and tasted amazing. Caramelized fish sauce smothered over a massive Mackerel filet. Plate 4 @eatforeign: Vietnamese coffee parfait. Like a tiramisu but even better. Strong coffee and chocolate flavours, with a bit of sweetness, just like how a ca phe sua da should be (although I do take my Viet coffee on the sweeter side). Plate 5 @eatforeign: ...when you can have another dessert? Passion fruit pavlova, coconut tapioca pudding. Compared to the coffee parfait I think I like this one better. I've always had a weakness for cold coconut tapioca soup for dessert. This just makes it even better.
